Panagia has managed in Trabzon— a monastery located right in the rock. The road to it is picturesque, but the final climb requires comfortable shoes, as you will have to overcome a rather steep staircase. Ancient frescoes have been preserved inside and a special atmosphere is felt. I highly recommend visiting, but it is better to arrive early in the morning to avoid the crowds of tourists and the heat of the day.
