But I don't think that it will cause people the same impressions as from a simple trip to the store. No, this place deserves more.

I was here in 2003, in 2009, in 2015 and 2024. Nothing has changed, except for the growth of the market area. It feels like ZB is stuck in time, in a bad combination. There is no development.
Development and improvement of infrastructure - 0, interior decoration still from Soviet Kazakhstan (seashell) - 0. High prices - 0. In general, only because of the reputation of 4 stars, as well as an ordinary bazaar, not a civilizational market.

There is a lot of choice, prices bite for non-locals. But if you bargain and take your time, everything will be 15-20℅ cheaper. I bought a cheese-dried kyzy, it's very tasty. Two pieces of 350 g each came out for 1,500 rubles . Not cheap, but still a delicacy. I think I could have taken it cheaper, but I was in a hurry. There is no such thing in regular stores, only in the market

I've known the Green Bazaar since the 70s.At that time, it was really a market for people and for everyone.Today, the market has turned into the most expensive klandike in the whole city.Everything is very, very expensive.We have to visit other markets where prices are significantly (twice) lower than the prices that exist in the Green Bazaar.We pensioners cannot afford many products there, and therefore we buy at the wholesale market of Raiymbek-Rozybakiev, where prices are two times lower, at the market of Altyn Orda, Arystan, where prices are also acceptable, Sary Arka market is expensive.I would like to note that it is necessary to pay attention not only to the administration of the market, but also to the Akimat of Almaty, that elementary sanitary and hygienic standards are not observed in the markets, from violation of which the people suffer.In all markets of the city, without exception, all traders from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan sell their products without observing the above-mentioned sanitation standards.All dried fruits, fruit products and others are on the shelves in an open form, where people with various types of diseases walk, sneeze, cough, dust settles on these products and people buy already infected goods.Dried fruits can be washed, but again not all::many types of goods lying on the shelves cannot be washed because they are covered with either glaze or sugar, and the microbe does not understand which product to fly to.That's why there are a lot of diseases that we acquire and from which the infection comes.It is necessary to oblige sellers to make special glass bins that would protect these products from the external effects of dust and dirt, and buyers would see the whole product through the glass and not touch it. This is a real Oriental bazaar - here you will find both a clothing and household and, most importantly, a grocery market. Be sure to visit the meat stalls and buy a Kazakh delicacy - kazy. I recommend asking you to fill your gut with horsemeat in front of you - this is a real performance. Special thanks to Chopin, from whom I have been buying kazas for more than 5 years!

Для меня это любимое место с детства).
Свежесть продуктов и богатый выбор выгодно отличает Зелёный базар от супермаркетов.
Да и поторговаться всегда можно.
Есть, конечно же, и любимые продавцы - те, кто уже на протяжении многих лет продолжают радовать качеством своего товара.
Например, молочку (сливочное и топленое масло, творог, сливки, козий сыр и брынзу) я беру только у Зули либо у Зары, они рядом стоят, в старом верхнем павильоне, который со стороны Жибек Жолы.
А в новом, что ближе к ул.Макатаева, есть бутик с греческими оливками и маслом, собственного производства - с тем, что продается в банках это даже не сравнить, кто разбирается - меня поймёт.
Среди круп найдется и Маш, и Нохат, и зелёная гречка, так что ЗОЖевцам тоже есть из чего выбрать и прорастить.
Рядом с центральным входом (с Макатаева) есть бутик с кыргызским молоком, его привозят по вторникам и пятницам. Из магазинного молока это единственное, что мы берём, причем цена очень приятно удивит, дешевле чем в суперах. У них же берём бездрожжевой хлеб, лепешки или кирпичики. И насколько я поняла из общения с другими покупателями, люди прям издалека специально приезжают к ним за этими продуктами.
Селёдку, креветки, горбушу берём в рыбном бутике рядом с западным входом в павильон.
В том же районе есть фирменная точка Алимпиевских колбасных и копчёных изделий.
А недалеко от них две тётушки продают настоящий алматинский апорт - этот вкус и аромат, знакомый с детства, не спутаешь ни с чем!
А вообще, Зелёный базар хорошо обойти без суеты, с кайфом.
Если хотите слегка взбодриться, есть довольно неплохой кофе в Старом павильоне, на втором ярусе, рядом с травниками. В нижнем павильоне тоже есть кофепойнт, но в старом гораздо лучше.
Кстати, из травников тоже могу рекомендовать Оксану. Только если Вам нужен именно не просто продавец но и консультант, то надо спросить ее саму, не помощниц.

Зеленый базар очень удобно расположен . Большой выбор товаров. Правда не всегда качество соответствует цене , но это есть на всех рынках города. Много парковок, правда они всегда забиты машинами. И найти свободное место очень трудно. Ну и много хамоватых продавцов, так и норовят засунуть порченые овощи и фрукты. При каждом посещении рынка обязательно наткнёшься на пару- тройку таких.

I bought apples of a rare and valuable Aport variety. They used to say the market was more civilized.

I really liked the mazes on different levels. Well, the assortment is good, but there is not enough cleanliness. Renovation and serious repairs have been required for a long time, it is not solid somehow for Almaty. Ideally, we would build a new and modern indoor market inside and leave the usual appearance outside, also repairing it.
