It doesn't really matter that this smallest country, a tiny enclave squeezed on all sides by a stormy, violent Rome, is seen by some as some kind of historical misunderstanding. None of this is important. It is important that the Vatican is an amazing place where it will be equally good and peaceful for a believer, an art lover, and a history lover. The Vatican Museums are a huge collection of works of art. It is very difficult to consider or at least see everything (is it possible?) Here are masterpieces from the ancient era (for example, the largest bronze statue, the statue of Hercules), and Renaissance (for example, the "Athenian School" by Raphael, where all the great scientists of antiquity and contemporaries of the author are represented), and modern works (for example, the bronze "Sphere within a sphere"). Of course, in order to visit the Vatican museums with benefit, it is better to take a guide - he will at least pay attention to the masterpieces, tell interesting stories, and guide you along optimal routes. Admittedly, sometimes it can be difficult to even buy tickets, so you need to plan a trip to museums in advance (by the way, a guided tour may include a ticket). An amazing, inspiring place that every conscious tourist should definitely visit -)
