Visit time is early October 2025. The Waterfall Hotel is located in the very tourist center. The hotel itself is cozy, there is a small area with palm trees. Very nice warm pool. There is an equipped beach, next to it is a park with swans, ducks and a small zoo. Meals at the hotel are served 2 times a day, but from 17-00 for dinner the first courses. There are 2 types in our stay for the first 3 days, then only the first one. Buffet 2-3 side dishes and meat or fish dishes (2-3) salads are also 2-3 types. It was enough for us, but monotonous. The food is always fresh, always baked. We had a large 2-room room without a balcony. The problem with drying towels and swimsuits. There is no hot towel rail in the room. They say that the goal of fiction is cunning - They have adapted. There are no towels for the beach - I had to buy them at exorbitant prices. Otherwise, everything was fine. To be honest, I would also come and recommend it to my friends.

I consider myself an adequate tourist, so when booking a 2* boarding house in Abkhazia, I do NOT expect to see a large territory with Alpine slides, fountains and pools, white bathrobes, luxurious rooms, shrimps and overseas fruits for dinner. The Waterfall works out its 2* for all 5! The boarding house is located right in the center of New Athos, go out the gate and here they are all the sights. The territory of the hotel is small, unpretentious, well-maintained, the pool is heated to 27 g of water, deep enough for an adult. Wonderful receptionists Alice and Venus greet you at the reception, and they will help you solve all your issues as soon as possible (problems with air conditioning, TV, plumbing,...). In general, the ENTIRE hotel staff is very friendly, which is very important for me personally. I was very pleased with the Wi-fi in the hotel and on the Rodina beach, no interruptions. We had room 102 in the main building, this is the first floor with a window on another building. The room is equipped with everything you need, but you need to have your own shampoo, balm and beach towels, the boarding house does not provide them, only liquid soap is replenished in the bathroom. Wet cleaning was done every day of our 13dn. towels were changed every 4 days, bed linen was changed twice. Meals at the boarding house are served 2 times a day. As for me, everything is very modest, but at the same time it is cooked deliciously and with a soul, my husband and I had enough of such food, we only bought something for tea in the store. It is better to buy excursions from Marina, who stays in a tent on the territory of the hotel every day. We will definitely return to the Waterfall

We had a rest in this place in September 2025. Positive: 1.location - within walking distance of all the sights of Mount Athos-cave, waterfall, monastery, cable car, fortress, cell of St. Kononit, 15 minutes to the sea, full of cafes, canteens, restaurants, nature is just a miracle. 2. Good food, not too varied, not enough meat, but everything is very tasty, homey, we always ate too much. 3. Check-in bonuses - free access to the observation deck and Ferris wheel. 4. Private beach, free sun beds and umbrellas. 5. Beautiful green area, warm clean pool. Minuses: 1. Super audibility in the rooms, glass doors, cardboard walls, you can hear the neighbors talking in low voices and the music from the neighboring restaurant is screaming from 7 to 23 o'clock, as if you were sitting at a disco. 2. There is no table, hangers, or shoe rack in the room. This is the first time we have encountered this- there is enough space, but just bare walls and empty rooms (super mini fridge, bed, narrow wardrobe, 2 bedside tables and an ottoman). I even had to put a kettle on the bed to warm it up. 3. There is black mold in the shower, there is no hair dryer, there is only soap and 4 tiny towel hooks. That is, there is nowhere at all to put even your detergents and hang clothes. 4. Not friendly hosts, never even greeted anyone. And there are no sofas, armchairs, or even chairs at the reception - just a large empty room, apparently so that the guests don't sit and get in the way. In normal weather, you can sit outside, but we left in a downpour at night, because there was no ice to stand and wait for the transfer. In general, New Athos will not be spoiled by anything - it is a miracle of nature, we will definitely come back, but to another hotel. And everyone has pros and cons, it's just that everyone chooses what's more important to them.
