A must-visit. To plunge into history and try to feel the contribution of this dynasty. Of course, it all depends on the guide. The candidate of historical sciences told us, it was interesting. Thanks a lot

Despite the fact that this is a fairly new museum. There are enough artifacts and paintings dedicated to the era of Tamerlane and his descendants. The museum itself is decorated richly and brightly. The ticket costs 25,000 sums. But without an excursion, it is difficult to fully enjoy your vacation. But you can take photos and videos.

Be sure to take a guide. Without it, a unique vase with a thousand-year history will just seem like a potsherd to you.

We were here on an excursion with students of the pedagogical University. A lot of things in group tours depend on the guide. In this sense, we are very lucky. The girl had a great tour, on the one hand informative, on the other without overloading with information. During self-examination, many interesting points can be missed. At the end, they showed and talked about the modern technologies used in this museum. This greatly decorated the end of the tour.

An interesting place, a beautiful interior, briefly learned the history of the Temurids in 30 minutes. The guide told everything clearly and quickly, she also managed to distract the baby, who listened to almost the entire tour

The museum itself is modest, there are few exhibits, but there are amazing guides. Unfortunately, we did not remember the name of the female guide who led the tour to the children and invited us to join. She told an amazing story, knows the story very well, tells it not formally, but straight with interest.

I associate my best visit to museums with this place. When we entered there, we were a little confused, because we didn't know where to start. A young man with glasses came up to us and asked if we had a guide. We said no. He said that he conducts excursions here and since he has a little time before a group of tourists arrives, he can show us and tell us about the museum and the exhibits. We agreed with pleasure. He told us in great detail about the construction of the museum and about the life of Amir Timur. He pointed at the exhibits and we followed him as if spellbound. It was very interesting and a little humorous) When he finished the tour, we had the feeling that we were walking with a good and smart friend. It's kind of sad to go to other museums after him. The exhibits are all cool. There is a hall with gifts to the museum from other countries, I really liked the Japanese porcelain and the Venetian mask. We got a million positive emotions from this tour, but unfortunately I don't remember the name of the guide. And if he reads it-big greetings and sincere gratitude to him.

I really liked the museum. I took an excursion. It was very interesting to listen. Although here you can download the program and listen to all the information. In places, the portraits come to life and tell about themselves. The exhibits are impressive. The staff is very polite.
I recommend visiting this museum.

An unexpectedly interesting museum, we entered it by chance while walking around Tashkent, and did not regret it! The museum consists of two floors, dedicated to the history of Uzbekistan and to Emir Timur himself. Entry is not expensive even for non-residents. In addition to historical materials, there are augmented reality objects on display, they can be viewed using the installed application on a smartphone (you can download the application using the gr-code specified there, I highly recommend it), it will be interesting for children. In general, the museum is designed for serious uncles and foreign groups.

Unfortunately, many of the exhibits are copies, the originals are in European countries. Perhaps there was not enough of a tour guide to understand the idea, chronology and sequence of visiting the museum. It looks more like a museum of everyday life.

A must-visit!!!
A very good museum, despite the fact that it is a new model - there are wonderful exhibits inside, very pleasant guides, some facts just generate - for example, with the Taj Mahal and the observatory.
Amir Timur, Amir Timur - and it was only after leaving the museum that I realized that we were talking about Tamerlane.

The museum is beautiful and good. And the guides make it 100% interesting! The excursions are inexpensive and definitely worth the money spent. The exposition is voluminous and an independent visit will certainly also bring pleasure, but on the first visit it is better to order a guide who will tell the most interesting things, structure all the information by year and period. I really liked it.

Strangely enough, the museum looks big, but inside It is even bigger. The sad thing is that in an hour you will get acquainted with small steps and you will already get bored. And so the guides tell you about each exhibit.
A small spoiler: mostly in the museum there are gifts to the state and forgeries of originals

This is not a museum in the usual sense. There is no collection of antiquities. There are modern maps of the conquests of the Tamerlane era, diagrams, a lot of information about the exclusivity of the Turkic peoples (Uzbeks, Tajiks, Kazakhs and even Hungarians are united, although they probably do not realize this), the "free" guide imposes the theme of a single belt of pan-Turkism and greatness, does not answer clarifying questions in connection with Persia and other empires, in particular in general, very strong propaganda. The building is new, richly decorated, but the content is not interesting

It's very beautiful inside and cool! There are many interesting exhibits. I had a bit of bad luck with the guide, he spoke very quickly, fluently and with an accent. I had to constantly ask again. I joined in the middle of the tour, at the end everyone who was there first started giving money for 10-20 thousand soums, asked the crowd, said who gives how much they want. At the end of the tour, I gave 20 thousand soums, to which he said that it was not enough, supposedly you also have to pay for the photo, although this is not the case and he needs to pay extra. I did not say exactly how much, I gave another 20 thousand soums. I'm not sorry, there's an unpleasant residue left. Another lady gave 10 thousand sums and he also hinted to her that it was not enough. In short, it would be better to place a certain bet on tickets with a guide, but it turns out that the poor guide is trying, and then you have to extort hints from everyone. And so, of course, the prices are ridiculous, they would make it official and more so that the guide feels like a human being. This arrogant one got caught begging from everyone, and another intellectual is unlikely to be able to do so. I ask the museum management to pay attention to this.

With all due respect, I can't put more. The museum will not tell anyone, even if they are not familiar with the history of the Timurids. The museum is not very informative, not consistent, there are very few real historical artifacts. Mostly copies, paintings and gifts from delegations from different countries that have nothing to do with the essence of the museum.
