Unfortunately, many of the exhibits are copies, the originals are in European countries. Perhaps there was not enough of a tour guide to understand the idea, chronology and sequence of visiting the museum. It looks more like a museum of everyday life.

The exposition is voluminous and an independent visit will certainly also bring pleasure, but on the first visit it is better to order a guide who will tell the most interesting things, structure all the information by year and period. I really liked it.

There are modern maps of the conquests of the Tamerlane era, diagrams, a lot of information about the exclusivity of the Turkic peoples (Uzbeks, Tajiks, Kazakhs and even Hungarians are united, although they probably do not realize this), the "free" guide imposes the theme of a single belt of pan-Turkism and greatness, does not answer clarifying questions in connection with Persia and other empires, in particular in general, very strong propaganda. The building is new, richly decorated, but the content is not interesting

It's very beautiful inside and cool! There are many interesting exhibits. I had a bit of bad luck with the guide, he spoke very quickly, fluently and with an accent. I had to constantly ask again. I joined in the middle of the tour, at the end everyone who was there first started giving money for 10-20 thousand soums, asked the crowd, said who gives how much they want. At the end of the tour, I gave 20 thousand soums, to which he said that it was not enough, supposedly you also have to pay for the photo, although this is not the case and he needs to pay extra. I did not say exactly how much, I gave another 20 thousand soums. I'm not sorry, there's an unpleasant residue left. Another lady gave 10 thousand sums and he also hinted to her that it was not enough. In short, it would be better to place a certain bet on tickets with a guide, but it turns out that the poor guide is trying, and then you have to extort hints from everyone. And so, of course, the prices are ridiculous, they would make it official and more so that the guide feels like a human being. This arrogant one got caught begging from everyone, and another intellectual is unlikely to be able to do so. I ask the museum management to pay attention to this.

With all due respect, I can't put more. The museum will not tell anyone, even if they are not familiar with the history of the Timurids. The museum is not very informative, not consistent, there are very few real historical artifacts. Mostly copies, paintings and gifts from delegations from different countries that have nothing to do with the essence of the museum.

A great museum, though not a big one. I especially liked the free entrance and the 3d audio guide and videos. The main focus is on portraits and paintings with Amir Timur and his relatives, as well as models of historical buildings, clothing items, tools of that time.

The museum keeps up with the times - we have made an interesting Internet application “Nazzar” with virtual walks and lectures. They work carefully with the exhibits. A unique collection of clothes, weapons and chain mail from the time of Amir Timur (Tamerlane in European sources) has been collected. Time is very clearly shown in enlarged miniatures and models of famous architectural structures.

The case when it is better to hear once than to see. Externally, the building is traditionally richly decorated in an oriental way and attracts the eye with a recognizable bluish-turquoise dome. Inside there is a gorgeous chandelier and a wealth of interiors. The museum was built in 1996 under the patronage of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov - in the year of the 660th anniversary of Amir Temur. During this time, attempts have been made to make the history of the Timurids interactive: iPhone owners are invited to download the Nazzar application and use the QR code to receive information about the exhibits (mostly replicas, not originals). But it's still better to listen to the guide in the traditional format - "live": his story (if you're lucky) will be more emotional, more detailed, more accessible, more meaningful, more enthusiastic and more interesting. The price of the issue: all for 25,000 soums (150₽): entrance ticket, thematic tour, permission to take photos.
