The museum is great for those who are interested in applied art and the history of the people. Many thanks to the guide Samira for an interesting story. The exhibits are beautiful, everything is clear. It would be interesting to see more national costumes - there are not many of them. It was not possible to take an audio guide (they said at the checkout that it was not available). And in general, thank you for the positive emotions!!!

A great place to hide from the sweltering heat and sip the local flavor. Inside there is a coffee shop, a coworking, a library, a souvenir shop, luggage storage and, of course, a museum exhibit. In my opinion, it is better to go with a guide or an audio guide — I was without them, and there was a great lack of explanations of the symbolism of ornaments and images on carpets. There are explanatory signs somewhere (in English and Azerbaijani), but the time was limited, so I missed a lot — the place was still amazing. There are few people, national music is playing, and women are weaving carpets in life mode. I want to come back here!

I liked the carpets more in the Heydar Aliyev Center. There are wonderful plots, bright colors and a sufficient story. The carpet museum has a fairly large space, there are carpets from past centuries, technologies and tools are presented, how carpets were woven, how wool was obtained. If I had only seen the exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center, I would have had more than enough impressions. I would advise you to look at the carpet museum from the street and go spend money elsewhere)

Recently I had a chance to visit the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet, and I was very impressed by this wonderful place. The museum is located in a building made in the form of a rolled carpet, which immediately attracts attention and creates an atmosphere of mystery.
Inside the museum there is a huge collection of Azerbaijani carpets made in different techniques and styles. The guide told us about the intricacies of weaving pile and lint-free carpets and showed us how these works of art are created. I especially remember the story that a dragon is often depicted on carpets, and if you see a mysterious figure on the carpet, you can most likely say that it is him.
In general, the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpets is a wonderful place for those who are interested in the culture and traditions of Azerbaijan, and also want to learn more about the history and art of carpet weaving! :)

We came to Baku for a few days and decided to visit this museum. From the outside, the building looks majestic and interesting from the point of view of design, there is no doubt. Having gone inside and bought tickets, without a guide, we managed to walk through all the halls up and down in 15 minutes - the time does not fit at all with the scale of the building from the outside, alas. In general, it will be enough for 1 time. Of interest is the history of the development of the carpet-making craft, real national costumes and musical instruments, the opportunity to purchase a carpet or a small rug as a keepsake.

The National Carpet Museum. Azerbaijan is Baku. It is open from 10:00 to 18:00 on Monday. The exposition consists mainly of carpets that are located on two floors. It probably makes sense to explore with a guided tour. The cost of the visit is 10 manats. In addition, for three manats you can see a jewelry exhibition. They don't let you rent a small room. But I think it's worth a visit. In the Museum you can see how the craftsmen weave carpets, which is called live. A mandatory place to visit if you are in Baku. The examination will take at least two hours. Numerous souvenirs are sold and the opportunity to analyze the carpet and obtain permits for export abroad.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum was established on March 13, 1967. At the time of its creation, it was the only specialized carpet museum in the world. Everything is interesting here. The museum is a must-visit in all guidebooks and is located at the intersection of the main tourist arteries. Carpet art is a cultural heritage, of course, but in general the museum is a bit boring, even with an audio guide. The prices in the souvenir shop are simply cosmic, it is not possible to buy anything in it, but it is a pity. The building has an original shape, but the interior space is not used functionally. The ticket price is very reasonable, it makes up for everything

A very beautiful unusual shape of the building, but this alone is already impressive!
At the very beginning, at the ticket office at the entrance, we managed to see how a large carpet was created by a woman's hands, very cool)
Then we went to see the exhibition, took an audio guide.
Impressions:
1) There are a lot of... carpets inside))) I got a little tired at some point, but on the whole it's interesting, because you can learn the story through carpets.
2) the museum does not target a Russian-speaking audience, as there were no signs (visited in 2022)
3) the floor is falling apart in places (in the video)
In general, I recommend it for a visit.

A wonderful museum with wonderful exhibits!
3 floors -2 only about carpets, on the 1st floor there are ticket offices, souvenirs, a place where workshops and a bar are held.
The audio guide was not working at the museum during our visit.We found an audio guide on the Internet and listened with great pleasure to what types of carpets there are, how they differ, what patterns are characteristic of a particular region, how wool was processed and dyed.
The museum staff is friendly and courteous.
The ascent and descent is carried out by an escalator, there is an elevator.

I love carpets and have long wanted to visit this museum! I found out about it when I was in the museum at the carpet exhibition in Kazan, and so I was lucky to be passing through Baku.

This place is a must-visit. If you have never been interested in carpets , you will be interested in them. We were with children of different ages from 11 to 17 years old, everyone was interested. Be sure to take the tour, it is not expensive 12 manats (700 rubles) , it is worth it, according to the regulations 1 hour of a fascinating story. In fact, we received 1.5 hours , special thanks to the guide Ainur , it is clear that the person knows and loves what he is talking about. We bought a carpet in Baku, we were technically well prepared and explained how to do it correctly. The museum has 3 floors , at the time of our visit in October , 2 were working . We will definitely go to Baku again.

the original view of the museum. The interior is simple inside, although the expositions are decent. several carpets are a real work of art. there are no inscriptions in Russian, only English and Azerbaijani. The guide in Russian (for an additional fee) got either lazy, or had a bad command of the language, ran through the entire exposition running, without much detail. the ticket price is 15 manat(750r).

The small museum has two floors, but they are very small. And the second floor is needed to look at the same carpets as on the first floor, only from above. Very small exposure, unfortunately. !!! NOT A SINGLE WORD IN RUSSIAN!! NOWHERE!! And this despite the fact that almost all visitors are Russian - speaking !! Who brings you income??? I think this is a terrible disrespect to my tourists!! Disappointed with everything!! Although I dreamed of visiting the museum , but the whole visit took at most an hour, with a thorough inspection.
