We were at the Minsk zoo on 06/04/2023.
We were deeply delighted!!! It's not as big as Moscow, but everything here is compact, cozy, clean, beautiful and well maintained. The animals are kept in excellent conditions. You can see by the muzzles)))) that they are happy with life!)))
I also really liked the fact that we stayed at the zoo until late, but no one kicked us out, no one followed us))), and we calmly strolled until we looked at everything. They also positively appreciated the fact that there are no swing-carousels, a wild number of "entertainers" and expensive cafes on the territory of the zoo (unlike Moscow)!!! Great! An inexpensive cafe at the entrance is quite enough! Nothing distracts the child from walking and exploring animals!!!

Dolphinarium, zoo... If you visit everything, then plan for the whole day, for very young children, either in your arms or on a bicycle, because you will have to walk, but only in your hands into buildings. We took tickets for everything, arrived half an hour before the performance at the dolphinarium, and then walked for three hours. The children were tortured, but they were happy.

A very cool zoo in Minsk. It's a pity that I didn't like the Dino Park very much, but the usual ticket for 15 rubles was not spent in vain. A lot of animals, horses and donkeys can be petted if you feed them with bread, they will come to you. There are many interesting species of fish. You can even see pigs, goats, and the Belovezhskaya bison, which is listed in the Red Book, up close. There is also a large shopping mall where there are bats. 10/10

Our recent visit to the Minsk Zoo was a real discovery for us. We were amazed by the variety of animal species, many of which we met for the first time. There was food for feeding animals at the entrance to the zoo, and we were happy to buy carrots and dried fruits. Feeding the llamas with carrots was especially fun and amusing. We also enjoyed treating different birds to dries, observing their preferences.
The territory of the zoo was large and well maintained, which made it possible to move comfortably between the enclosures. The enclosures were spacious and clean, which spoke of the zoo staff's concern for the animals. Some of the animal species, such as the African elephant, reindeer and Amur tiger, especially impressed us.
In general, our visit to the Minsk Zoo was filled with positive emotions and a lot of interesting impressions. We will be happy to come back here again! :)

The Dino Park did not meet expectations a bit in terms of acoustic accompaniment (voice acting) and the lack of normal footpaths (it is problematic to drive with a stroller).

The food and attractions on site are expensive and not the best, so they were not used.

On the territory of the dolphinarium (sessions b12,15 and 18 separate ticket,)exotarium, and dinopark for kids. There is a normal toilet in the exotarium, the rest are bio-cabins without water on the territory. Several cafes, sooo delicious crispy Draniki and berry tea, we drank sea buckthorn. Admission is free for the disabled and accompanying person, as well as a ticket of 12 Belarusian rubles.

I really liked the Minsk Zoo. Beautiful well-maintained and territory. The animal areas are made with love for the wards. I was amazed by the terrarium. It was the first time I was in such a place: it was made of several levels and zones, with interesting transitions. Macaws move quietly inside this space, fish swim in an outdoor pool, a huge python Kaa lies behind the glass, and a turtle rides on the cayman.

By itself, the zoo creates good conditions of detention (relative to zoos, of course, it can never be compared with the natural environment), aviaries are not just cages, and they are not bad decorated for the landscape... cells (though not all of them). For everything that has horns or hooves, a pen is smaller than a wolf - a cage with some additions, such as toys, houses, trees, grass, stones; everything that is larger or = wolf - fairly spacious cages, with stones, artificial mountains, larger trees, etc. (this applies to mountain goats, which there are a lot of big cats and a bear that I haven't seen). It is possible to smell the "smell" of animals quite rarely, that the cleaning is excellent. There is an exoterrarium for birds (there are scaly ones, fish, etc.), in which (I suppose only some) can move freely, there is water flowing, and mountains, and a lot of everything, beautiful, but cramped.
In winter, animals of warm climates are put in aviaries, for example, this happens with servals. And everything would be fine, but the size of the room is 5 by 5 servals, and they have to wait out the cold for at least 4 months, it's sad. And okay servals - there are two of them, right to the right of them sits Oncilla (sort of), alone, in a 5 by 5 serval cage. There's a table in the rooms, toys, servals even have a stump, cool.
Some animals just rush from side to side: a lynx runs along the enclosure, a fox turns endless circles along the walls, caracals - one runs, the other just stares at the wall without moving, a lion walks along the iron bars, and it's all endless, every minute, every hour. I don't expect them to sing and dance to me, but this situation is very disturbing, because what else can they do, their territory is 20 by 20 meters at best, what haven't they seen there yet and where haven't they been?
There is such a function - to take care of an animal, i.e. monthly payments. This function is divided into several types depending on the amount, and offers as a substitute:
- Guardian's Certificate
- A name for the pet being cared for
- A name for his offspring
- Tickets for several people or even excursions
- And the funniest thing is, the sign on the aviary ... "Thank you so-and-so for your help...", imho, the only thing worse can be a post on the social network, about how well done you are. Happiness (in this case, goodness) loves silence.
- Etc.
Unfortunately, I did not find any checks to be sure that the animal receives an additional one. care for this money and bills do not gather dust in big uncle's pocket.

I've heard a lot about them saving species from extinction, but to be honest, I don't believe it at all. How can an animal get better in captivity, being locked up in 4 walls? No matter what the "cameras" are: big, small - they can never be compared with the territories that nature gives them. To do this, populations are protected in their natural environment, rather than creating a concentration camp for them.
Yes, people will lose the only way to see animals live, or even touch them (a separate kind of animal husbandry). But is it nice when you exist just to be looked at and clicked on by cheap smartphone cameras? If the animals are wild, then they belong in the wild, not in a cage.
This is not the worst torture chamber for animals, and it is not a problem of the zoo management, but of the legislation as a whole. Zoos are a relic of the past, if you want to look at an animal, watch documentaries or read in open and free sources - there is a lot of information.
