An amazing museum!
Everyone who visits Minsk should visit this place.
The museum is deeply impressive both for its grandiose architectural embodiment and for its exposition.
An important recommendation is to visit the museum with a tour group (there is a schedule). The guide's story will leave deep impressions. A full-scale picture of what the Belarusian and Russian people had to go through during the war will open up before you. Everyone should definitely know this.
The territory of the museum passes Victory Park, a good place for a walk. There are memorial fountains in the park, and an excursion boat runs along the river.

Pride in our country❤️Very impressive and large-scale. A worthy memory of the feat of the Soviet people, the Soviet soldier and the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Every hall, every installation evokes the most tremulous emotions. Everything has been thought out to the smallest detail. A storm of emotions is caused by a hall dedicated to the horrific inhumanity, the victims of concentration camps. And as the brightest chord of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, this is the Victory Hall!
How finely and precisely the information and design are chosen. The incredible Light and cleanliness, the transparent dome with the waving flag of the Soviet Union of Socialist Republics, the Victory flag touches to the very heart and fills

The museum itself is simply wonderful, the expositions and halls are informative, interesting and impressive. but! There was a feeling that we were not welcome…We came with my husband and child at about 15:30-16, bought tickets and clarified whether it was possible to take an individual tour, we were sent to the administrator, they clarified it again and she said with a grin, "Yeah, you're generally late, you need to come to the museums earlier, the time is already at 4..." would you agree that this statement is superfluous? Well, the guides left for the routes and left, it's okay, we'll look for ourselves, additional comments to our address are unnecessary. Then two hours later we enter the last halls 10 and 11, which are located on the 1st floor, there are a lot of interactive expositions: screens with photos, sound devices, just sound near objects, lights, etc. I'm standing and looking at the photos on the screen, flipping through them, tears come, I'm just very immersed in it and then I see that the lights are starting to turn off at the other end of the hall, and my husband and son were there, I step away from the screen to see what happened, why there is no light, a woman comes, turns off the screen mine turns off all sounds, turns off the lights in other parts of the hall, I leave it to see where my husband and son are, the time for a minute was 17:50... I just leave, they immediately lock the door. It turns out that they are starting to prepare for closure, although the museum itself is open until 19 ... why they began to do this so early is not clear, and even if these halls close earlier (my guess is, otherwise it is not clear why they close the halls before closing), then the same administrator instead of poking us with the fact that we supposedly they came late, she could have suggested that there are halls in museums that close earlier, because she sits there to help people, prompt and answer questions…
But I recommend visiting everything exactly to everyone, this is our history, the terrible history of the entire USSR and many other countries, unfortunately there are very, very few such museum expositions…

The museum is very modern, well equipped technically, the narrative is well read, full immersion in all the hardships of wartime.
I highly recommend combined excursions, I was lucky to get on such a tour guide Victoria, knows the material perfectly, the story comes to life in her words. In an hour and a half, I felt the huge emotional effect of the museum objects combined with the tour - it seemed to me that every listener could barely hold back tears, especially in the halls about the occupation regime.
On the downside, I didn't really understand why there are no discounts for visiting graduate students. But in general, of course, a regular ticket is not expensive at all. I definitely recommend you to visit.

We haven't been to the museum inside, we liked it outside. Such a waterfall fountain is cool, especially when it was hot outside, it was nice to be nearby. The sculptures are beautiful, everything is clean. Unfortunately, we got there only in the evening and everything was already closed. The fountains have also already been turned off in the park near the museum, it's sad, of course, I really wanted to see it, but we still enjoyed walking in the park!

The museum is one of my favorites. Large, spacious, good expositions. The child always enjoys visiting and always finds something new. Special thanks to the staff, competent and sincere people. I would like to make a small request, highlight information on photo and video shooting at the entrance and at the checkout in order to avoid misunderstandings. Otherwise, everything is fine.

The museum is beautiful, modern and made of high quality. A large collection of exhibits. I have heard the opinion that this is the best museum dedicated to the Second World War. Perhaps this is not far from the truth. The only thing that disappointed me was the tour: the guide was constantly confused, lost her way, and also told almost only well-known facts. But the information about the history of the partisan movement in Belarus turned out to be new to me.

It is recommended for everyone to visit. A very large-scale, interesting and informative exposition about the Great Patriotic War! A lot of interesting documents, weapons, military and civilian items are interesting for both adults and children. There is a large well-groomed area around the museum where you can walk, as well as a sculptural composition with a cascading fountain. The place around the museum and the museum itself are very beautiful! Be sure to visit!

One of the most amazing museums dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, which I have visited. Everyone is required to visit - both citizens and tourists from faraway lands. This is our history - the history of the common Fatherland. The feat of a Soviet soldier should never be forgotten. Thank you to everyone who built this museum, collected material. A huge amount of large-scale equipment, including captured ones. Book a few hours to explore the museum and be sure to take a tour!

Each floor is a separate WWII theme. Absolutely amazing installations! Everything is done competently, and most importantly, it feels like with a big soul and love.
I even cried in some halls, I was so impressed by the story about the horror of the war and the atrocities of fascism.
I definitely recommend you to visit! This is a very cool museum and a stunningly beautiful park with it!

We were lucky to have a guide, we had a young man - a museum employee who knew the material perfectly, and we really liked the tour.
The museums feature all stages of the Great Patriotic War, exhibits - original tanks, airplanes. The exposition dedicated to the partisan movement is very interesting.
I was impressed by the terrible facts about the German concentration camps.

It is impossible not to visit this landmark of Minsk and the whole of Belarus: The Museum of the Great Patriotic War traces its history back to 1944, the year of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. A well-equipped building with the history of the war, in details known to all of us and special, rare for the Belarusian history. The compositions are so believable that you seem to be gradually immersed in the atmosphere of the tragic beginning of the war, the guerrilla movement, the genocide of the people during the occupation.. and just as deeply and realistically is the feeling of power, strength, thoughtfulness and people's faith in a successful offensive. Which led to the liberation. The museum is modern, with several floors. The exhibits are in excellent condition, complemented by new compositions. I recommend visiting with family and children.

A very good museum!!! I advise you to take a tour, you can take a team, as a rule, there are always people there who want to be in a group. Because the guide will take you through all the halls in great detail, and there are about 9 or 10 of them. The last Hall of Victory.
You can also walk around yourself, but it will be from the category: I ran, took a picture and ran on.
We walked in a team group for an hour, then the rest of the time you can walk as much as you want and take pictures.
Very interesting...We learned a lot from the history of the Great Patriotic War .
Definitely worth a visit!!
There is a gift shop on the ground floor.

Our family liked the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War very much. (therefore, I will not take off the stars) But ...
we were unlucky with the guide (Timofey). I tried to take the tour theatrically, but it turned out to be sad. He spoke at some moments quickly and haltingly, hence half of the words could not be made out. Despite the fact that there are 20 people in the group. Already at the second exposition I wanted to leave, but decided to go to the end, because the museum is really interesting and big. Of course, it will be difficult for children, but there are staged scenes that distract. The last floor is the brightest, this is our memory.
Do not forget to visit the expositions about the war in Afghanistan (on the ground floor), this is also a story, and also with tears ...
There is a park nearby, but we did not like it. We took an electric car (next to the museum, 35 rubles for 30 minutes), but it's better to check it next to the seller. In ours, the front brakes did not work and the controls were lame.
The fountains were not working and there is nothing to see there.

A great museum. Probably the best one I've ever visited. A huge exposition, it is clear that everything was done with great respect for the history of the Great Patriotic War. Excellent guides, interesting stories about the history of Belarus during the war. I recommend definitely visiting if you are in Minsk. It is imperative to show the children, otherwise they will hear enough of modern pseudo-historians that "all the exploits of the Soviet people were invented, and the Americans won the war" and then they think so...

A large-scale museum. There is something to see. An understandable and interesting exposition, compiled in strict chronological order with a large number of interactive elements. The museum is multi-level. You seem to be moving through history, from hall to hall, passing by real samples of military equipment and entering the Victory Hall, which completes the museum's exposition. Many thanks for preserving our history. Of the cons. The connection of the bank card payment terminal does not work well in the cafe. It turned out that we paid for coffee and cakes twice. It is better to pay in cash.

We visited the museum in July 2024. It is very convenient, guided tours by sessions, by time, it was not long to wait for the start of the tour. Researcher Dmitry Sergeevich, had a very exciting tour of the main exposition, more than an hour and a half passed in one breath. From the first days of the war to the Great Victory. About the feat of the partisans, underground workers, about the resistance and inflexibility of the defenders of their native land. Unique samples of homemade guerrilla weapons are presented. The Hall of Fame is solemnly beautiful. Many thanks to the museum staff for preserving the Memory!

It was a pleasure to visit this museum.
I think that it should become a mandatory program for any guest of the city.
Belarusians honor the memory of the Great Victory. This is noticeable even if you just walk around Minsk.
And there are so many exhibits and expositions in the museum that it just takes your breath away. Passing from hall to hall with gloomy lighting, you just get into the horrors of war, the suffering and grief of people, the courage of our soldiers, you experience all this. You go through, running everything through yourself, and at the very top you find yourself in a large and bright Victory hall (Peramogi). And you feel freedom, relief, joy that everything is over!

And be sure to take picnic food and drink with you) there is a beautiful park nearby) after the children have a picnic) they will be glad)))
To the staff and organizers of the museum, thank you so much for the work you have done to organize the exhibition)
And in the future I would like to add projectors and screens with videos about past events, battles, their heroes, weapon characteristics, tragedies, etc.) since the young current generation is already growing up with a smartphone in the blood of both YouTube and the title, such information will be familiar to them, which means they will be able to feel much more the importance of remembering this tragedy)
