I recommend this museum. But you should speak English if you are Russian. Because staffs of museum are agry. Especially in an art museum. Except for the halls staffs, they're friendly.
Exposition is great and very interesting. You can order guide or watch all by yourself.
Price is overage :)

The building is beautiful, huge, impressive in power. The staff is smiling, everything was explained, but even those who walk poorly were not allowed to enter the elevator to the top - they say for the staff.
I liked the history Museum, but it's too small for our curiosity.
The National Gallery of Art is also here. Part of the building's floors are closed. But we were lucky to get to the exhibition of Aivazovsky's works. It is said that it is often closed. The exhibition is great. Some of the works have been wanting to see for a very long time, they were glad that they were being exhibited. It's also great that there is an interactive monitor on the geography of the artist's work.
Besides this exhibition, there were others that did not make much impression: the French interior and ancient Armenian art. There are few exhibition copies. Eroticism in the works of Armenian graphic artists was also not particularly impressive. There was a feeling of the graduation works of the art school: "paint in the style of Egon Schiele, Picasso, Tseretelli and Dali." Few people were interested. There was little original and penetrating to the soul.

a must-visit. A modern museum, a rich exposition, everything is well served, you perfectly understand what happened and how it was.The air conditioner is working, the caretakers are not evil, they can politely explain, but if you try to break the rules, they will also politely stop)

Take some time and start the tour from the top floor (up the wooden stairs inside the main exhibition area) to go through all the halls in chronological order, and then look at the lower floor. It is very interesting and informative, impressive and makes you think.
We were also at an exhibition dedicated to female deities, with the goddess Anahit. We are very glad that we were in Yerevan at that time, I think it is an ancient shrine, just a masterpiece. I highly recommend visiting both the main exhibition and the temporary ones.

The museum is certainly interesting. Modern spacious halls, it is clear that it is decorated with soul. I lowered the star, since all the signs are only in Armenian and English. There is nothing in Russian, including audio guides. This is strange, because the lion's share of tourists is from Russia.

The collection is decent. It is definitely worth visiting the museum. The working hours may not match the data in Yandex. My visit was closed an hour earlier for the banquet. For this reason, it was possible to see only the main exposition. The exposition work is not bad, relatively fresh, but without any modern interactivity. My heart skipped a beat from the windows and exhibits in them, which were staggering from nervous floors). But in general, the museum is wonderful, you must visit it. Please note that the label is in Armenian and English.

I visited this museum for the first time last year, there was no free guide, information about the exhibits is in English and Armenian. This year we came to 12 (a group gathers every 2 hours). My son and I were alone, no one joined us, so it turned out to be an individual tour at the price of a group one. It cost 5,000 drams plus a ticket for 2500 drams each. We went around the museum in an hour, liked it, I recommend it to all guests of Armenia.

The museum stands at the head of Republic Square, from the outside it is a beautiful building in the mature style of Yerevan. Inside there are several floors of history, many halls that tell about the history of Armenia, culture, there are halls with the history of carpets, church paintings, Aivazovsky hall and much more, it will be interesting for both museum lovers and not so much because the expositions are not very voluminous

I really liked the museum. Interesting expositions and in general everything related to history is interesting! In addition to historical exhibits, there was a photo exhibition - it was very touching! We were imbued with the feelings and spirit of the country at different times of its existence.
The only thing missing was an audio guide in Russian - I had to use a translator for each description - in general, everything is clear, but not very convenient and I would like more information.

The new exhibition is just a bomb!
With reconstructions, with cartoons.
With copies of the exhibits that you can touch!
Especially the Bronze Age bowl with several rows of comics impressed me. And the whole cart from the tomb.
It's better to go for a while so that you can look at it.
The only thing is that on the 3rd floor, all the Russian language was removed. But it's well written in English.

The museum's exposition tells about the history of Armenia from antiquity to the Middle Ages. It is located on the 3rd floor. 1st and 2nd floor - temporary exhibitions, carpets at the moment. The disadvantage is that the information is presented only in Armenian and English. If you don't own them, take a guide. We had Diana - great! 1.5 hours of an interesting story.

A museum is like a museum. Historical. But without any originality or something. Classic, that's the right word for it. I still love a museum with a twist, a soul. It's purely classic here. You cannot enter without a guided tour. Guided tours are conducted in sessions in different languages. We still need to get into our language. The group, as I understand it, will be recruited anyway.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to Roland for his interesting presentation of the history of Armenia. During the tour, we were able to look at the historical facts that we already know from a new perspective. It was a fascinating journey through the corridors of time with a fantastically exciting presentation of the material. Thanks to our guide, we were imbued with deep respect for the proud and steadfast Armenian people, who are able to survive difficult times and carry the love of their native land in their hearts through the centuries. We wish the museum prosperity and replenishment of the collection with new historical materials. I wish the employees good health and a peaceful sky over their heads.

A good, interesting museum. The cost is 2500 drams. The main disadvantage is that there is little information on the information stands themselves. Just walking around not understanding to look at the exhibits-yes. Otherwise, you need to take a guide. Repairs are currently underway, some of the exhibits are unavailable, the air conditioning in the building is also not working, it is insanely stuffy and hot. The history of Armenia is very difficult, there was a lot of blood and wars in it, I would like to learn more about this, which could not be done. There are enough exhibits, there is a photo exhibition, I recommend visiting the museum

The museum has spoiled the impressions of Yerevan. All exhibits can be found in every museum of the history of any country, there is not a single inscription in Russian. For 7500 drams per person, you will get a tired guide who will try to remember Russian words twice as long as the stated time. If you do not mind your time and money, in no case do not buy a tour, walk around the halls and then get more information.
