The zoo is small. At the entrance, they offer to buy animal food - they can treat ungulates and birds.
The enclosures are not very large. Many animals were in cabins because of the heat.
There is a dolphinarium, you need to pay for it separately. Sessions at 12, 15 and 18h.
Overall, the visit left a pleasant impression.
I slightly lowered my rating because of the enclosures - I would like the animals to live more comfortably.

The zoo is very pleasant! It's small, unlike in Moscow, but that's a plus. We were with children 7 and 1.7 years old. The elder liked it very much. The younger one liked it too, but of course not everything. It is interesting and not tedious, all the main animals are there, there are picturesque places for beautiful photos. I liked the show at the dolphinarium, but there is one thing. The performance was delayed for 15 minutes (the performance itself is 30) and with young children it is critical. This spoiled the impression, the younger one got tired of waiting and already refused to watch the performance.

Very interesting predators: black panther, lions, cougar, etc.
The territory is not very large, it's a long way to go from Independence Avenue, but you can take a taxi 10 rubles.
According to the cost of tickets, it is expensive, but if it goes to the maintenance of such beautiful animals, then it is possible.

I will not hide it, visiting zoos is not one of my favorite activities. The attitude changed with age, when curiosity and affection from the animals transformed into a feeling of pity for the caged people.
Fortunately for me, and for the animals, the Minsk Zoo made a more or less positive impression.
Of course, I would like to see bigger and cleaner animals in aviaries, as much as possible, but what is, is.
The variety of species is simply huge, it seems to me that we have not even bypassed all of them. The bison impressed me and my companions the most, as they had previously been seen only in pictures. In general, I definitely recommend you to visit.

I love animals, so we often come to the zoo with friends, we take 10-15kg of vegetables with us, since they rip off 2p for a cup…
The entrance is 15p, there is a place to eat, but the prices are a little too high. The zoo itself is in average condition, the enclosures are small, especially for birds, dirty and there is no water, although there are holes for this, it feels like half of the animals are not being watched at all. There is very little shade, the animals do not know where to go from the heat. A large area for dinosaurs, but it would be better to expand the territory for animals.

A good large zoo, we walked for 3 hours, there is a separate room with venomous snakes, separate fish, a separate glass dome where parrots can fly freely, there is a dolphinarium and a dinopark on the territory, I recommend visiting. There are cafes on the territory where you can have a snack. If you visit everything, then you need to plan for the whole day.

By itself, the zoo creates good conditions of detention (relative to zoos, of course, it can never be compared with the natural environment), aviaries are not just cages, and they are not bad decorated for the landscape... cells (though not all of them). For everything that has horns or hooves, a pen is smaller than a wolf - a cage with some additions, such as toys, houses, trees, grass, stones; everything that is larger or = wolf - fairly spacious cages, with stones, artificial mountains, larger trees, etc. (this applies to mountain goats, which there are a lot of big cats and a bear that I haven't seen). It is possible to smell the "smell" of animals quite rarely, that the cleaning is excellent. There is an exoterrarium for birds (there are scaly ones, fish, etc.), in which (I suppose only some) can move freely, there is water flowing, and mountains, and a lot of everything, beautiful, but cramped.
In winter, animals of warm climates are put in aviaries, for example, this happens with servals. And everything would be fine, but the size of the room is 5 by 5 servals, and they have to wait out the cold for at least 4 months, it's sad. And okay servals - there are two of them, right to the right of them sits Oncilla (sort of), alone, in a 5 by 5 serval cage. There's a table in the rooms, toys, servals even have a stump, cool.
Some animals just rush from side to side: a lynx runs along the enclosure, a fox turns endless circles along the walls, caracals - one runs, the other just stares at the wall without moving, a lion walks along the iron bars, and it's all endless, every minute, every hour. I don't expect them to sing and dance to me, but this situation is very disturbing, because what else can they do, their territory is 20 by 20 meters at best, what haven't they seen there yet and where haven't they been?
There is such a function - to take care of an animal, i.e. monthly payments. This function is divided into several types depending on the amount, and offers as a substitute:
- Guardian's Certificate
- A name for the pet being cared for
- A name for his offspring
- Tickets for several people or even excursions
- And the funniest thing is, the sign on the aviary ... "Thank you so-and-so for your help...", imho, the only thing worse can be a post on the social network, about how well done you are. Happiness (in this case, goodness) loves silence.
- Etc.
Unfortunately, I did not find any checks to be sure that the animal receives an additional one. care for this money and bills do not gather dust in big uncle's pocket.

I've heard a lot about them saving species from extinction, but to be honest, I don't believe it at all. How can an animal get better in captivity, being locked up in 4 walls? No matter what the "cameras" are: big, small - they can never be compared with the territories that nature gives them. To do this, populations are protected in their natural environment, rather than creating a concentration camp for them.
Yes, people will lose the only way to see animals live, or even touch them (a separate kind of animal husbandry). But is it nice when you exist just to be looked at and clicked on by cheap smartphone cameras? If the animals are wild, then they belong in the wild, not in a cage.
This is not the worst torture chamber for animals, and it is not a problem of the zoo management, but of the legislation as a whole. Zoos are a relic of the past, if you want to look at an animal, watch documentaries or read in open and free sources - there is a lot of information.

A great place to spend time with both children and adults. There are a huge number of animals that can be fed with vegetables bought there. Animals are represented from the smallest reptiles and frogs to the king of beasts himself.
The animals look great, inspected, clean, well-fed.

The dolphinarium brought a lot of positive emotions! The zoo is also cool, but many animals hide in hot weather and cannot be seen. BUT, it's definitely worth a visit! Tip: take cabbage and peeled carrots with you in your bag - you will please yourself and the animals for an adequate price, and not for the money for which you will be offered carrots for food there (1 pc. for 2 rubles)

At the zoo, you can feed the animals by buying food there. Animals are used to this, they willingly come up and feast on it. You can even feed bison and zebras. There is also a bear in the zoo, at least 1 for sure, a lion with a lioness, a cougar, jaguars, Amur and white tigers, did not see a kangaroo, although there is an aviary. Monkeys, birds, some reptiles. A beautiful pavilion with tropics. The aquarium is not bad. There are fast food stalls on site.

We were very surprised that the dolphinarium and the zoo are in the same place, which is very convenient if you want to visit both places.
The aviaries are clean, the zoo is very well maintained, the staff is calm and tells you everything. If it's cold, you can go to a cafe and have a snack. There are a lot of ungulates that can be fed with food bought at the zoo (only 2 Belarusian rubles per cup). Lots of positive emotions!

I will give the maximum rating for the "homeyness" of the zoo. There is no jostling, many animals make contact, but everything is within reason, cages, fences, glass are present. There are parking lots nearby. Of course, there are flaws in the maintenance of the territory and pavilions, the toilets are in a bit of a deplorable state, but we were satisfied and did not pay attention to it.

A great place for a family vacation. You need to go there for at least half a day, not in time for an hour or two. A large territory, a lot of beautiful, well-groomed animals, both our Belarusian and exotic. It is possible to treat animals with vegetables purchased there. There is a playground for children with attractions, there is a place to eat, there are toilets. However, it is very uncomfortable in the exotarium, you need to be a gymnast. In warm enclosures, the viewing windows are not thought out a little, they glare and sometimes you need to look closely to see the inhabitant.
