Minsk is a beautiful city where you can walk along wide, modern avenues, wander through cozy streets, look in and have a delicious snack of national cuisine in numerous coffee shops. In Minsk, bourgeois Europe, the Soviet Union and the native provinciality are combined at the same time. The National Library is an interesting, glass, high-rise building that stands out very much from the surrounding Soviet high-rise buildings. The only observation deck from which you can take in a part of Minsk and get an impression of the city as a whole.

After a long break, I went on a tour of the three floors of the library. We saw an exhibition of books presented to the President of Belarus, and went to the museum of rare books. Everything is very interesting. I will also come with a reader's ticket to see exhibitions in galleries and take a better look at old books. We were in one of the buffets, leaves much to be desired, I want to modernize the assortment and layout. But this is, of course, my subjective opinion.

There was a long queue at the ticket office for the elevator to the observation deck. You can register on the website and purchase tickets online. Long, but faster than standing in line. The view from the site is ordinary, on the shopping center and residential buildings. The center is not visible. You can go up for a change. The cafe was served for a very long time, the prices are unreasonably high. It's very hot, choose tables not from the sunny side.

The place is pretty, the park is shabby. The aunt at the checkout behaves rudely, although she smiles through her teeth, but communicates as if she is doing us a great favor and is only interested in selling souvenirs (which we could have bought, but discouraged all desire. By the way, among the extremely cordial reception even from sellers in ordinary shops in non-tourist areas and minibus drivers, this is an isolated case in 4 days, we are non-conflict people from the word at all) Advice to tourists - if you are going to walk, cross the road and go up the Slepyanskaya water system. There is frankly nothing to do in the park near the library, and the water system is an extremely interesting and picturesque exhibit. You will reach the tram depot all the time along the picturesque water surface in a beautiful park (there, by the way, there are a lot of curious shops that local (and not very) enterprises gave to the city.

The library has a large free parking lot, you can park your car without any problems.
