I want to write a succinct review, I'm sure many people will find my advice useful. : 1. The magnificent Temple! The largest Orthodox church in Europe. Divine beauty and energy. A masterpiece of old and modern architecture. With a powerful, complex and deep history !!! 2. Every traveler of any religion who arrives in Serbia is a must-visit 3. Important - a rare temple and a museum in Belgrade with an audio guide in Russian. Please note that there is a small stand with a sign on the right near the parish with a retail store, there are links to social networks and a QAR for an audio guide. I passed, chose the Russian language. And I literally immersed myself in the beauty of the photo-audio guide with detailed information from the very beginning of the temple's history, to the details of decoration, figures, engineering facts and religious features. The information is arranged conveniently, point by point. The site is great, the quality and the navigation. It was as if I was climbing to the domes and frescoes to the ceiling)) 4. I learned important points for me from the architect Mukhin, from icon painters and Russian mosaic masters. 5. Souvenirs are not expensive! 6. The fountains are closed in autumn. 7. The view of the temple is beautiful from any side. 8. There is a small repair going on inside. And outside.

St. Sava Cathedral is a must-see structure for tourists coming to Belgrade, Especially the interior of the cathedral, which we can call the most important historical structure of Belgrade, is full of fascinating artifacts, Made using the example of the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and preserved and renovated very beautifully for centuries, every part of the structure is full of excellent works, it is impossible not to admire, and there is also a different spiritual atmosphere of the structure… Apart from the works on the ground floor, there are very beautiful works on the lower floor when you go down to the floor on the left side, Arousing interest in the works around the exterior and the door, very wonderful, The entrance is very smooth, free admission, it's nice that there is no photo shoot ban, I definitely recommend the visit.

It's awesome! I've never seen anything like it before. The mosaics are rare in terms of labor intensity and are made at a high level. In the lower temple, despite the abundance of bright sunny colors, gold and low arches, everything is also very harmonious.

The temple, which is visible from many corners of Belgrade. It is probably worth a visit for both atheists and believers. He is very important to the Serbs. According to legend, the Turks burned the relics of Saint Sava at this place (by the way, the name of the river is not related to the name). It is a very large and beautiful temple. And they were surprised by the inscriptions in all languages on the temple gates (Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Serbian, English), as if they did not want to divide people, but to unite them. It is very cool!

A wonderful Serbian Orthodox Church, without a doubt. This is the rarest case when a golden mosaic does not look tasteless. Prayers on the huge doors are also in Russian and Latin.

Very majestic and beautiful! I was in the evening, I want to go to a divine service and pray in this amazing place. There are no health and peace notes here, as we are used to in Russia. There is a slot next to each significant icon. That's just I didn't understand for money or a note you can put. Candles are placed outside and bought inside the temple.

A grand cathedral! The space is simply mesmerizing with its transparency and lightness. Khoros is simply incredible, airy and light, for all its vastness. The mosaic surpassed everything in the world except St. Mark's in Venice. Be sure to go down to the crypt. In general, my eyes run away from gold and paintings.

The architecture is inspired by the Byzantine style typical of Orthodox churches, especially large cathedrals such as Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The observation deck in front of the temple offers a breathtaking view of the city. Inside, mosaics and spacious halls are impressive. A must-visit place in Belgrade!

Inspiringly beautiful) it's good that there are no grannies, as in the Russian Federation. You can safely go in and stand by the icons. To touch the relics. Take a candle quietly and for free and put it on.

One of the largest churches in Belgrade, if not the largest. It is decorated with mosaics inside, and the whole one is a colossal work of craftsmen. There is a lot of space, very bright, very soulful.

A huge temple. The exterior decoration resembles the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Inside there are brilliant mosaics with golden decorations. It seems that this is how St. Sophia should have looked before the Turks

The soul of Serbia. I am proud of my Russia, which helped the fraternal people to build this beauty! The upper temple is mosaic, the lower one is painted, but it is no less beautiful. There are many Serbian saints and the national identity is directly felt in the decoration of the temple. I love this place! I always come here when I arrive in Belgrade.

The building is the greatest, everything inside is naturally civil, icons, ceiling and wall paintings, BUT nothing feels. There is no such divine energy that is present in such places in ordinary temples in the province. An ordinary tourist destination. Crowds of tourists of different faiths without respect for religion.

Guys. I do not know what words to describe this Orthodox church. Greatness is the least of the epithets that come to mind. The only thing I didn't like was that people of a different faith go in there and take pictures against the background of our shrines in inappropriate angles and poses, and it's clear that they have absolutely no respect. They don't see it as a Temple, but as an ordinary tourist attraction. We Orthodox Christians would try to enter their shrines and behave in a similar way. But even these troubles did not spoil the impression of this Divine place!

It is a very vivid impression, the temple is more spectacular from the inside than from the outside...The incomparable mosaics, the play of light, the giant chandelier, the faces of the saints create a very blissful and solemn atmosphere.Byzantine architectural traditions are embodied in the Cathedral of St. Sava with unsurpassed splendor.

It is a very large and very beautiful temple. But what surprised me the most was the lightness of the architecture. At this size, it looks light, airy and light. Although the latter is not surprising in Belgrade. 😃

The Church of St. Sava in Belgrade is one of the most impressive sights in Serbia. This Orthodox church impresses with its grandeur and scale, being one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. **History and architecture:** The temple was founded in 1894 and has been under construction for many years, undergoing various historical events. Its construction was completed in 2021 thanks to the financing of the Russian company Gazprom Neft. It was decided to cover the vaults and walls of the temple with mosaics, the total area of the mosaic is 15 thousand square meters. However, there were no masters with the necessary experience in Serbia. The People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Mukhin was ready to cope with the task. Under the guidance of Mukhina almost one hundred Russian and Serbian craftsmen laid 50 million mosaic elements with a total weight of more than 300 tons. They had to create their own color palette, in which, for example, only 53 shades of blue were used! **Interior decoration:** Inside, the temple impresses with its rich decoration and scale. Mosaics and wall paintings were created under the direction of Nikolai Mukhin. The temple is dominated by light and golden shades, which gives it a special atmosphere. The image of the Savior stands above the altar, blessing those entering the temple. The dome of the temple is decorated with a mosaic of the scene "Ascension of the Lord", inspired by the mosaics of St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice. The Church of St. Sava is not only a religious building, but also a real work of art. The result of this truly titanic work can be seen firsthand by visiting this magical majestic Orthodox church. Visiting it leaves an unforgettable impression and allows you to better understand the culture and history of Serbia.

I really liked it. In general, Orthodox churches are one of the most colorful prayer houses. In the Church of St.Sava has a lot of beautiful paintings, especially the frescoes on the domes of the temple are fascinating. There are also many scriptures and icons. By the way, this is an active temple and most likely, services are held there.

An amazing temple! Very light, airy. It seems that it is much bigger inside than outside)) It is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in Europe. The church was designed at the end of the XIX century, but construction could only begin in 1935, and all work was completed only in the next century, in 2004. It was decided to cover the vaults and walls of the temple with mosaics. However, there were no masters with the necessary experience in Serbia. The People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Mukhin was ready to cope with the task. It's worth coming in. The church is new, for personal reasons like the Cathedral of Christ in Moscow. There is no sense of sanctity inside, he is really young. Many people like it. Visit for a personal impression.

A monumental structure. The mosaic inside is striking in detail and polish. It can be viewed up close, it can be viewed from afar. There is an invitation on the entrance gate in all languages. There is no usual white pigeon under the dome, which makes it even more interesting to look at the decoration. There is a lower floor with gold painting. Gorgeous, impressive.

After admiring the cathedral from the outside, I went inside for souvenirs, and got an example of splendor. No grandmothers at the entrance muttering "in shorts and without a handkerchief," no boorish candle vendors, no darkness under the arches of the temple. The cathedral is full of light and golden-colorful mosaics, the inscriptions near the saints are clearly legible. Candles are placed outside the temple, and are not sold at the established rate, but are available for any voluntary donation. Everyone can come in, even in any clothes, even with children in strollers. At the same time, everyone behaves decently and quietly. There are benches - you can listen to the service while sitting. There are separate shops with church themes, and they accept both cash and cards; what is funny, the crosses in them turned out to be Russian-made. There is an atmosphere of kind, solemn peace in the temple.

The largest Orthodox church in Europe. It is very beautiful both outside and inside. Inside you can buy icons (the cheapest ones seemed to cost 600 Serbian dinars) and other church paraphernalia. It is noteworthy that Serbian churches do not put candles inside. There are places outside for them for fire safety purposes. Two types of candles are also placed - the upper tier for health, and the lower one for repose.
