Do you love museums as much as I do? Then you're definitely here. First of all, the building itself is impressive-massive, with a portico, everything is classic))) On the ground floor we visited the exhibition of the 20th century Belarusian artist M. Sevruk. I would like to mention high-quality text explanations that help to understand the artist's work and put it into context. On the 2nd floor in the foyer there are national costumes and works by contemporary artists, and then there is the collection itself. To understand where the "Unequal Marriage" and "Overseas guests" come from, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the history of the museum and especially with what it had to go through during the war. The returned exhibits are marked with stars (among them are portraits of 20 Radziwills and other historical characters). In general, the museum makes a very positive impression. I recommend it to everyone!

A very good collection of Russian art from the 18th and 20th centuries. Shishkin and Aivazovsky, Repin and Savrasov, Levitan and Kramskoy, Mashkov and Kustodiev. There is something to see! But many paintings need restoration! The Omani exposition is very interesting. It was interesting to look at the paintings of the Belarusian artist Sevryuk. I especially liked the collection of bronze sculptures. In general, it was very unexpected to see large wooden sculptures.

It's a great museum. Russian Russian artists of the 18th and 20th centuries and a worthy collection of Russian icons. No less, or maybe more, interesting is the collection of Belarusian icons and medieval sculptures, portraits of magnates of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, as well as Western European and modern Belarusian paintings. I liked the collection of porcelain from the Minsk factory. We arrived two hours before closing time and barely managed to get around the museum. There was not enough time for a temporary exhibition of silver from Oman. The museum is located in two buildings connected by a glass-fronted passage. You can buy a family ticket to visit the museum.

A very good museum, and the halls of the old, Soviet architecture, and the new halls, post-Soviet! The exposition is wonderful, you will find paintings by famous Russian artists here. There are Aivazovsky, Shishkin, Polenov, Korovin, Vereshchagin, etc. We took a ticket with an excursion. I really liked it! The guide was competent, he talked enthusiastically and interestingly. We learned a lot of new things. I recommend. The only thing is that the old museum will be closed for the restoration of the building. And for 2 years.

I liked the museum! Classics always look good. I love marinists! The lighting in the halls is good. There are ottomans to sit on for those who are tired from the road. Each room has its own pleasant color. There is an exhibition on the ground floor. The main exhibition is on the second floor. The third floor is modern. There are tactile paintings, like in the best art galleries. There are still paintings in Moscow that you can smell, but in Kaliningrad there are worse ones. The tactile work done in the museum is very interesting, so there is a lot to grow. But in any case, I liked it. And the volume is not enough to die like in the Hermitage, for example. I noticed a spot on the ceiling in the hall alone, so I wish the museum prosperity and that money is invested in the building. The building is beautiful. The building project is super! The stairs and the views from them are grand. We are all impressed!

It is a very beautiful museum, both outside and inside (especially inside), which has a fairly large collection of more than 30 thousand exhibits. And in which an interesting story happened to us.)))) But first things first. )) Before visiting the museum, like normal people, we looked at its work schedule. After making sure that he works until 7 p.m. on the day of our visit. We arrived at 15. The ticket office sold us tickets to both buildings (main and exhibition) without any problems. The ticket sale time on the receipt is indicated at 15 hours and 19 minutes (shown in the photo). Knowing that we have almost 4 hours before the museum closes, we began our tour slowly and with pleasure (and the museum definitely has something to see). Quite unexpectedly, around 4 p.m., one of the museum's caretakers stops us and asks why we continue to walk through the halls when we should be leaving the museum, since it is open until 4 p.m. today and has already closed. They say that a new exhibition is opening at the museum today and the working hours have been changed for visitors. To our surprised indignation, why then did they sell us tickets to as many as 2 buildings, knowing that the museum would close in 40 minutes, the caretaker just shrugged her shoulders and pointed us to the door. Naturally, we considered this state of affairs to be wrong and went downstairs to sort it out. Moreover, there were no announcements about the shortened opening hours of the museum, either at the ticket office or on the website. Downstairs, we encountered several more indignant visitors. As a result, as we understood it, the administrator came to us. She apologized very sincerely and said that it was the rank-and-file employees who either misunderstood something, or it was "self-activity" on their part. And that a new exhibition is indeed opening at the museum today, but this does not affect us in any way, and everyone who bought tickets can freely continue their inspection until the officially specified time, which is 19 hours. In general, I am certainly glad that the issue has been resolved. But, nevertheless, the situation took place, and I found it necessary to talk about it. Maybe someone else will encounter something like this. You will keep in mind that museum curators, it turns out, sometimes underestimate "amateur activity". ))) As for the museum itself, we were delighted. A magnificent building in classical antique style, which is also very beautiful inside. The museum lobby deserves special attention. It is designed in the form of three spans with two levels. The balustrade and other elements are made of the rarest white marble, which makes the object the most expensive staircase in Belarus. There are no such magnificent steps even in the Minsk Presidential Palace, and the decoration with recognized masterpieces of world painting makes the hall an independent and priceless work of art. And on the third floor there are very spectacular interiors in the style of ancient Greece and a glass atrium ceiling. In general, there is something to see. And I haven't even started talking about the exhibits yet. ))) Today, the number of works in all collections and collections is 37,000 pieces from more than 132 countries and about 12 centuries of human history. Ancient Belarusian, Belarusian art, European and Russian art, Oriental art. There are many famous authors. The exhibition complex features works by contemporary authors. But there is a lot written about this in other reviews, so I won't repeat myself, I'll just say that there is a lot of interesting stuff, even if you are not a super connoisseur of art. ))) And you need to set aside more than one hour for a visit. The museum has an absolute top five, even in spite of the story with the curator of the museum, which I told you about.)))

There are a lot of halls. We walked for 3 hours and not even everyone looked, and this despite the fact that some halls passed quickly. Everyone will find something of their own that will beckon. I personally really enjoyed the small exhibition from blind artists. What has sunk into my heart is a painting with yellow irises by a modern Belarusian artist. There are various interesting things inside the museum itself, which also helped to distract oneself and go to the halls with renewed vigor.

The main artistic treasure of the country, which was severely damaged during the Second World War. The collection features Belarusian and Russian art. The permanent exhibition features works by Repin, Vrubel, Aivazovsky, and Levitan. Among the absolute gems are ancient icons, portraits by Khrutsky and "Winter Dream" by Byalynitsky—Biruli. There is also an excellent collection of Western European art: there are paintings by Italian, Dutch and Flemish masters, as well as works by Pablo Picasso. It is important that the museum often hosts interesting temporary exhibitions. For example, in March there was an exhibition Slutsk belts. Reconstruction is underway, which will significantly increase the number of paintings shown. Definitely recommended to visit.

An interesting permanent exhibition, you can get acquainted with Belarusian, Russian, Dutch, and Italian art. I didn't have time to evaluate the temporary exhibitions. But! In some of the main halls, there is a problem with the lighting of paintings, the photo is attached (Vrubel's painting is lost against the background of others). P.S. it is a very popular place for wedding photo shoots.

A magnificent museum. I haven't been so excited in a long time. And even my daughter from St. Petersburg said that it was a sooooo worthy exhibit. Special thanks to the staff, the caretakers, they explain everything and help. It is very interesting to take a guided tour. We listened to it out of the corner of our ear and regretted that we didn't take it. I would like to mention the placement of the paintings separately. Everything is planned to flow from one to the other. You walk through all the halls with a sense of the continuity of the artistic narrative.

A great option for a weekend visit! We were there on Saturday evening, about 2 hours before closing time. It turned out to be an ideal time — most of the visitors are already on their way out, the halls are quiet and there are almost no people. You can view the main masterpieces calmly, without haste and jostling. The prices are acceptable, all the staff are very polite

A great museum! It was interesting to look at the paintings of famous artists. But all the mood was spoiled by the employee at the checkout. A woman with short hair, brown hair, glasses. I've never seen such rudeness before. We asked her the usual question about what goes on in the exhibition building and what goes on in the main building. To which the woman replied to us: It's not difficult to understand logically where and what is taking place, the main building is the main thing, and there is an exhibition at the exhibition. It makes perfect sense, but she didn't answer our question. For people who are visiting this museum for the first time in Minsk, I would like to know what kind of tickets we buy and where to go. Very unpleasant.

Pleasant place: polite staff, interesting both the exhibition itself and the museum buildings. I would like to note separately that there are concerts inside, which you can get to simply by buying a ticket to the museum. There can be several concerts at the same time! There's a great atmosphere in the lobby. There is also a pleasant atmosphere in the glass passage. It would be great to place a little more locations in the halls for relaxation and contemplation, but these are details.

It's a great museum, before you go, see the schedule, on some days it may not work or it opens from 13.00. As a lover of fine arts, I can say that it is an excellent museum, large, full of all kinds of paintings and sculptures. The museum is very popular with newlyweds, and wedding photo shoots are held in front of and inside the entrance. There are a lot of tourists from India and China, but the rooms are spacious, no one really interfered, take an audio guide, it's inexpensive and there will be at least some information in your head

We are very glad that we visited the museum! A friendly employee of the museum told us in what order to visit the halls in order to get the impression of an interesting narrative. And indeed, you notice a lot of storylines. For example, the place of an ordinary person in the history of art: at first, he is almost absent from the Sacred, Great and Important, or a few peasants in paintings; and, completing a walk in the halls dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, you see heavy sculptures and flaming canvases on which ordinary people are glorified as national heroes - soldiers, women, home front workers. I really liked the halls with wooden sculptures of saints, icons of the 15th and 16th centuries and portraits of the famous Radziwill family. I liked the paintings of European artists, the work of Asia. The post-war and modern works caused delight! It's great that there are several illustrations for Olga Forsh's book "Dressed with a Stone", written about the prisoners of the Peter and Paul Fortress, in particular about the most mysterious prisoner of the imperial period - Mikhail Beideman. Based on this novel, a black-and-white film "The Palace and the Fortress" was shot in Soviet times, and the prisoners are described in St. Petersburg when visiting the fortress. It's nice that you can buy souvenirs to remember the walk (at the ticket counter). We recommend you to visit 100%

The museum's collection is very good. A strong collection. There are a lot of things that I have not seen before from famous artists. One of the pleasant shocks is Shishkin's Forest moss. It's a very beautiful painting. In addition to Shishkin, the museum also has interesting works by Aivazovsky, Kustodiev, Makovsky, Malyavin, Perov, Kuindzhi (one of the versions of Night on the Dnieper) and ceramics by Picasso and sculptures by Konenkov and Vrubel. Lots of interesting things. There is also modern art on the third floor. There are few outstanding ones, but I noticed Konstantin Kosmachev for myself.

A wonderful collection. The halls are all small, but everyone shows the art of their time. World names in art, the design of the exhibition is excellent. Thank you. Three hours passed in one go. The hall of modern art has an extensive collection, I really liked it. The only thing that spoiled the impression was the staff. Firstly, tickets are accepted only with a check (they won't let you in without it, even if you purchased an electronic ticket, the absurdity is complete), the "friendly" woman at the control will also ask why without a check. Secondly, ask about the audio guide (5p), no one offers and there is no information that you can take it (which is unpleasant, it is not disinfected, it is all stained, so wipes will help you).

It is interesting that creativity from the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth is represented. To understand the history of this region, that's the very thing. There is an exhibition of Chinese and Japanese culture. There is also the avant-garde and social realism. The gallery is beautiful, the building is very majestic. But - 1 star for the attitude towards the visitor. I understand that maybe the locals are used to it. But usually, when visiting such places, people there are courteous and polite, and will not yell at the entire gallery, "Are you from the forest, do you need a special invitation to the wardrobe? Don't you see the Wardrobe sign?" - it's a quote. As a resident of St. Petersburg, I am not used to such rude treatment, our people in art Galleries and museums are 10,000 times more courteous and polite. Either be more tolerant, or talk about the requirements to go to the cloakroom when checking tickets.
