I would like to express my sincere surprise and dissatisfaction concerning the level of service in Intercontinental Ras Al Khaimah Resort And Spa hotel. My husband and I had to wait for more than 40 minutes(!) because the room was still being cleaned. I have never experienced such a delay in all my years of travelling. We finally entered the room at 15:50 to find a room with occasional areas of dust, an empty mini-bar, one set of dental kit instead of two and a lot of other small things which you would not expect to come across in a hotel of such a level. We have also been told that the delay is connected to an attempt to upgrade the room. Well, if this is an upgrade, I’m afraid to imagine what the initial room looked like. We were also extremely impressed by the fact that lunch is not included in our first day of staying here. We have paid for all inclusive premium but to have a meal we will have to wait till 18:30, which I personally find a bit weird. And I guess it’s also worth mentioning that our luggage hasn’t arrived to our room till 16:20 So we literally wasted about an hour and a half, which we could spend swimming in the sea. The first impression is totally negative and we are starting to feel that choosing this hotel has probably been a mistake.

I liked the hotel for a relaxing stay. There is no party. There is no special entertainment for children. Nice large rooms, everything above 3 floors has a sea view, always mark the top floor. There are enough elevators, there is never a queue. BUT, the descent to the sea and pools along the street is 2 flights of stairs, but you can take a detour for 2 minutes longer. The pool is absolutely refreshing. The territory is normal in size, not small. The beach area is large, there are a lot of sun beds, but the entrance to the sea itself is a small lagoon and after 5 meters the depth starts at about 170 cm high, so everyone is crowding closer to the shore who does not want to sail. There is a feeling of crowding. There is a construction site to the left of the hotel, there is no noise, there are cranes, our visual was not particularly spoiled. There's a breakwater made of rocks on the right, which is good for photos, and it doesn't let waves get to the beach. There is no boardwalk on the beach. The food is not just a huge selection, but there is enough of everything and everything is very tasty, there is no bias towards spicy or spicy. There is a good morning set of food for breakfast, there are 2 types of porridge, red fish))) herring, delicious cheeses, pastries, desserts, eggs of all kinds. About 5 minutes by car or you can walk for 15-20 minutes, in the apartment block, there is a supermarket and a pharmacy, and another 5 minutes away there is a fast food market and several restaurants.

But perhaps this is the most comfortable hotel, where everything contributes to total relaxation and relaxation. Let's start with the number, it's definitely 10 out of 10. A modern interior, a huge bathtub behind transparent glass (which can be closed with a curtain if necessary), a very comfortable bed and pillows, a large balcony with a sofa, a coffee machine with daily refilled capsules and other tea accessories in the room. The hotel's territory is 100 out of 10. Every detail was photographed throughout the holiday, cozy locations of bars by the beach and pool, swings, huge sun beds, aesthetic terraces of restaurants, light bulbs everywhere, stylish lighting and a lot of greenery. Separately, I would like to mention the infinity pool, which rushes into the horizon and therefore seems to merge with the endless turquoise bay. There are small islands near the pool, separate zoned areas with sun beds, as well as all the necessary amenities in the form of showers and changing rooms. During our stay, the sea was clean, salty, with moderate waves, which were a pleasure to bask in. There were already quite a lot of vacationers at the end of August, but the beach was usually occupied by no more than 20 sun beds, which created an atmosphere of privacy. I would also like to mention cocktails in bars, we had an all-inclusive system, not all cocktails were included in this system, 6 alcoholic and the same number of non-alcoholic, as well as two types of beer, champagne, white, red and rose wine. I also really liked the animation in the hotel, it was unobtrusive, not like Turkish, but everyone could take part. The class was conducted by a very nice girl, Lilya, she did morning exercises, aqua gymnastics, aqua zumba, as well as yoga in the evenings (I was particularly enthusiastic about the latter, I didn't miss a day, and it seems to me that after 10 days of classes I even began to look and feel better, the swelling disappeared, and this despite heavy and not always healthy meals during the holidays). And now about nutrition itself. Here I would give 8 points out of 10. The breakfasts were excellent, red fish, a wide variety of cheeses, fruits, pastries and desserts, omelets, various pancakes and waffles. The only thing missing was the variety of porridges. For breakfast, as well as during other meals, there were many drinks, including alcoholic ones. The dinners were not so varied, two soups, pizza, pasta (only with sauce and cheese), French fries, baked vegetables and snacks for an amateur. At lunch, we ate 80 percent of pizza alone, as it was more or less to our taste, and sometimes (not every day) we had delicious mashed soups. The dinners were different. Basically, every dinner at the hotel was dedicated to the cuisine of a particular country or destination, so on Fridays, for example, there were seafood, delicious rolls, crabs, mussels, fish soups, mashed potatoes, and on some days tom yam was cooked, but there were also evenings with Lebanese or Indian cuisine, which I consider to be an amateur. beans, sweet spices, chicken skewers in hot sauce, baked eggplant and so on, on such days, again, we had to limit ourselves to pizza and potatoes, which we always had. Interesting desserts and really delicious ice cream were also served for dinner. So we definitely didn't stay hungry, we were just a little disappointed sometimes compared to, for example, dinner the previous day. Of course, I would also like to mention the work of the staff separately; in restaurants, good-natured and positive staff always met and escorted to their places, pleasant and polite waiters, nimble (despite the heat) bar staff, who of course found it especially difficult to work at 35 degrees. In general, it seems that all the staff at this hotel love their work. The room cleaning was also perfect, towels were changed every day. There was a Russian-speaking girl at the reception who helped us order a taxi to the nearest shopping center (Manar Mall), and also went to a meeting to extend the room on the day of the departure, for which special thanks to her! By the way, this is not the first time we have visited the Intercontinental hotel, and we chose it precisely for its quality, based on previous experience. And I am very glad that our expectations have been fulfilled!

Namely at 17:30 - the sun beds are covered in sand in the morning, sometimes they are not even put in place, they just stand as they were left the day before - there is a fence next to the beach, behind which there is some kind of grandiose construction of high-rise buildings. In general, they don't make much noise, but the view is frankly not "premium" Rooms - 3/5 - interesting design solutions in the form of transparent doors in the toilet and a glass partition between the bathroom and the living room - definitely like 👏🏻 - the doors in the shower and toilet are purely nominal, all sounds and smells are perfectly audible) - our minibar was empty for 2 days, until we went to the reception to clarify where the contents are - it's a little dirty, there are no places to dry clothes, more precisely, there is one sliding door on the balcony, but even for two of us, my wife and I didn't have enough to hang our swimsuits at the same time. There is one tension line, but for some reason it is located on the wall in the toilet. Apparently, in premium hotels, laundry is dried there. Food - 3/5 - you won't stay hungry, but the choice is extremely scarce - there are a lot of Indian and Arabic dishes, quite specific, which further narrows the already modest choice - if something ends, you can wait 15-20 minutes, or you can not wait at all. - vegetables of questionable quality, there are practically no fruits - the breakfasts are identical, there is no variety. For lunch and dinner, a little richer, but also without frills. To summarize, the hotel is positioned as a premium segment, but in general it attracts a strong 4. This is definitely not the intercontinental level. As a result, inflated expectations (especially considering the price tag for the hotel) are shattered by harsh reality. You can safely choose Turkey and get the best hotel for less money.

The strange behavior of jet skiers (back and forth along the floats) greatly spoils the pleasure of the sea. Smelling the smell of a chainsaw from the exhaust is still a pleasure. I am writing my review immediately after a week's stay at the hotel with the whole family with a small child of 2.5g. I will start with a good one: quick check-in, friendly staff, large well-maintained territory, beautiful spacious rooms (about 45m2) in the main building, good cleaning, plumbing, excellent wi-fi, a gorgeous beach and the sea (clean, sandy bottom), large swimming pool, it is possible to move around the hotel in a golf cart. We went to the hotel after reading the rave reviews, but in our experience we were faced with a misunderstanding of who wrote these reviews at all. I must say right away that the hotel was at its best during our stay (the second half of October), fully loaded, so we tried to understand all the disadvantages we faced, but sometimes it was just difficult to understand the logic of management. About the cons: - The hotel is large, there are a lot of rooms, and the restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served is scanty! In a not very convenient place, there is a counter where you are registered and a table is reserved for you. There are constant queues around this counter, which peak at certain times and there are just a crowd of people, many of them with children and strollers, but there is nowhere for them to sit, there is no waiting area for boarding, so people stand in the aisles / stairs and interfere with the movement of staff / vacationers scurrying with full plates of food, in a word Everything is on top of each other. The wait for boarding for dinner at peak times reached 30 minutes, which is exhausting and mercilessly long. - I rate the kitchen at a solid 3 points. This is probably the worst buffet I've ever been to (and I travel a lot). The choice of dishes is very small and at the same time there is a lot of specific Arabic/spicy / spicy food, for a Russian person it is a real problem to find something suitable. There are only 2 types of pasta: penne and spaghetti; if you have small children, this will become a big problem, since you will have to regularly beg for mini pasta to cook, and often you will have to fight or wait a very long time. Mashed potatoes were seen only once. A small selection of fruits, bananas for the child had to be regularly begged, because for some reason they were not always laid out, but brought on demand. The food in general is not delicious, there is no grill area. - There is no children's table as such!!! There are no cans of baby food, no packaged milk, no yoghurts in packages; if you have small children, you will be puzzled all the rest about what to feed them! They once asked me to personally cook pasta for a child, they were boiled in some kind of incomprehensible water, the pasta had a strange unpleasant smell, the child did not eat. - There are no teaspoons or even wooden stirring sticks in the ice cream distribution area or in the coffee machine area (how is this even possible?? how can I mix sugar in my coffee and eat ice cream??) - I often ran out of deep plates, for example, I had to eat ice cream from a flat plate with a huge tablespoon (as I said earlier, there are no teaspoons) - Long wait for drinks in the restaurant (you can already finish your meal, and the drinks will be brought only towards the end) - The mini bar in the room has nothing but coffee, tea, sugar and water. There is no basic cola/ sprite, etc., if you want, you need to go to the bar yourself, since you can't order room service by phone without extra charge (one of the advantages is that drinks (cola, fanta, schweppes, beer) are served in cans at the bar and they are not opened, which allows you to order with a little stock up and take it to the room in the mini bar) - Towels on the beach and by the pool regularly run out in the evening, they simply will not be given to you. - It is better to start the fight for a lounger in the early morning and wake up with an alarm clock - In the pool bar, all cocktails are made by eye, so they always taste different (sometimes they are successful, and sometimes you try it and don't drink it anymore) - The only animation is water aerobics, which takes place to sad music. No evening performances, DJs, and absolutely nothing for children (except for the children's room). - Upon arrival, they asked for a baby's bed in the room. We needed a bed or playpen with sides for a 2.5-year-old child, but the only thing they could offer us was a small crib the size of babies, without a baby pillow and blanket, the child slept the whole vacation in a bent state, covered with a towel. In general, I come to the conclusion that the children in the hotel are ignored on all counts. - Very cold air temperature in the restaurant, at the reception and in the corridors. Coming in from a hot street (especially in swimsuits), you get a very strong drop, your husband and child are sick. As a result, we definitely won't be returning to this hotel. Management needs to work very hard on the existing problems.

We wanted to relax in a hotel, without the hustle and bustle of the city, where it was comfortable and convenient. But that's not possible in this hotel. It all starts with check-in. People have been waiting since the morning, even at 3 p.m. no one has checked in. You will not be allowed to have lunch, because only dinner is included on the day of arrival. At 4 p.m., we finally got to our room. But there was no bed for the child. We waited for her for another hour. We arrived 10 minutes before dinner, and there was already a queue at the entrance. After 10 minutes, the queue became twice as large. It's a completely inconvenient system when everyone has to check in at the entrance and only then you are escorted to the table. How this is included in the concept of rest, and even in an elite hotel, as it says here, is generally unclear. At dinner, they were still more or less served, drinks were brought, and the dishes were cleaned quickly. In the morning, there is not even water on the tables for breakfast, no one comes up, we got the coffee ourselves, there are no napkins. There was no cook cooking omelets, the porridge was over and not replenished, there were only 2 cups for coffee, in short, everything ends and is not replenished on time. But the most interesting thing is on the beach. At 9 a.m., there are no free sun beds at all! There's still a lot of empty space, and we could add more sun beds! I'm sitting in a closed bar on the beach, apparently this is how my vacation will go. The room is beautiful and large, but all the fittings and furniture are very uncomfortable, the doors are difficult to open, the shower and toilet doors are knocking against each other and rattling, in the morning there is a puddle of water in the toilet, apparently flowing from the shower opposite. The window in the bathroom is closed with a translucent curtain. In general, the status of the hotel does not correspond to the level due to elementary flaws on the part of the hotel. I've never had such a vacation anywhere before, even in the high season.

You wait in line to be led to a table and seated for 10-15 minutes. There were even more a couple of times. 4. Although the territory is not very small, there is nowhere to walk in the evening. Outside the village of townhouses and that's it. 5. It's really boring in the evening. No mini disco for kids, nothing for adults. 6. The beach is not big, but there seemed to be enough space for everyone. On the 7th, a new children's room was opened right during our vacation. Legos, coloring books, toys, new Playlists. 8. In 10 days there were 2 dinners with a large selection of seafood, including crabs. The first dinner was wonderful. But in the second one, my mother was poisoned by shrimp. That's all for the positive! Now what I didn't like: queues for breakfast, lunch, dinner (you can solve the problem with guests by making an appointment with whom it is more convenient to come); there is no opportunity to wash your feet from the sand on the beach and by the pool; a limited number of toilets; if you look at the sea, there is a continuous construction site on the left (spoils the appearance, creates noise); there was also a construction of a bar or cafe on the beach itself (there was noise, dirt); lack of a marine eco-system (embankment shore, limited beach area); the issue with sewerage was not resolved (there were smells near the restaurant); old beach towels; shallow cooling pool for adults (also very little space).
