It used to be a great beach, lively, lots of cafes and shops. A very atmospheric place was in the middle next to the water park. But now everything is closed, the best half of the beach is completely blocked (they say a hotel will be built there), and the other half is empty. The water park is not working. Once the beach was "booming"... But now it is a partially closed area for construction with non-functioning infrastructure (restaurants, bars, shops, toilet).... Surprisingly, there is still one working changing booth, working showers, and... Security and lifeguards on the beach. Speaking of security, if you come outside the opening hours of the beach- which are not indicated anywhere- you will not be allowed to swim. I arrived before 07 a.m. - they made a remark to me... I had to wait. Of the cons: Pakistan and India hang out here in the morning before work and in the evening after work, they wash in free showers... Of the advantages: there are not so many people, there are amenities-except for the toilet. And the sea itself is for an amateur... They don't go to Dubai by the sea... But that's my opinion.

Few people, cozy, atmospheric, lots of locations for photos. But there is also a lot of debris along the edges of the beach and in the sand. The vacationers are Russians and Europeans. That's why I liked it the most! Other beaches turned out to be Indo-Pakistani😅

Great place! Despite the many closed establishments, the beach is not abandoned. Rescuers are on site all the time. The police too. Ice cream, drinks and more are within walking distance. Toilets and changing rooms are available. January, there are not many people, but also not a few. The water is beautiful all year round. There are beautiful locations for photos. We were at La Mer beach in January 2024.
After reading the reviews that there are many cafes and sun loungers for an additional fee, we decided to visit this beach. Arriving at the beach, we were a little surprised, because there are NO paid sun loungers, umbrellas, and cafes where you can have a snack, there were no workers ((()
It's just like a Texas abandoned neighborhood. this gives a special piquancy to this place!!
Shops are closed, there is nowhere to eat, lie or sit only on the sand… But despite the fact that nothing works, cleanliness and safety! There are guards everywhere, janitors, lifeguards on the shore.
A bay with clear water. The visitors are mostly Russian-speaking and sometimes there are locals. They even bring tourists from Asia there))

I really liked walking around La Mer , interesting scenery, a cool location for photos, a great clean beach, a lot of cafes to choose from where you can eat delicious. There's a construction site nearby now, but it's still very clean and not noisy. I came specially several times to walk there, eat and swim. I will definitely come to Dubai again and take a walk there, I recommend it.

La Mer beach was about 3 km from our hotel. We got to it and back on foot (in January, the temperature is comfortable for walking). Great beach.
From the pros: clean, most often not crowded with people, there are showers, toilets in sufficient quantity, there are almost always no waves, a cool view of the Burj Khalifa.
Among the disadvantages: the subway is far away, the sand is not as loose and tender as at the Marina, buoys are not far from the shore - freedom of navigation is limited. There is little entertainment of an extreme nature (possible only for the construction period of the second half of the beach in May 2023). And the water is not always azure, as in the photo in insta.

There is no metro in the vicinity within walking distance. Walking in the heat is not an option, you can move the horses. I was in July 2022. I took a taxi from the Bur Dubai Hotel. The shuttle went late. Immediately after breakfast at 7-8 in the morning I came AND UNTIL 12. THEN IT's VERY HOT. there are changing rooms, toilets too. There are small cafes. In general, I liked it.
