If you take it by the standards of another popular tourist country, then the hotel barely stretches to 4. However, here in Cuba, it is an absolute 5! They don't cook very well, it's not only here, all over the island, but you'll never stay hungry. Lots of fruits, very tasty ice cream, a good amlet or fried eggs for breakfast. And for adults, lobio will prepare a cup of fragrant carajillo. Bar - all cocktails are rum-based, the taste depends on the bartender. The beer is very good and of course the rum flows like a river. But we must not forget to take dishes with us, best of all a thermos mug, there is no other option to take a drink to take away. The animation is lively and wild. At lunch, lotto and a game of rings, the prize is a bottle of rum. Cuban dances in the evenings. The rooms are normal, the beach is absolutely clean.

We were vacationing in mid-October 2024, just during a power outage on the entire island, what struck us was that we at the hotel did not even realize that something was wrong! The generators were working, it did not affect our rest in any way!
The staff does their own work very efficiently, restaurants, bars, everything has always been everywhere. Everything worked in the room, cleaning every day, towels and soap accessories - everything is fine.
We also saw no shortage of anyone: meat of all kinds, seafood, ice cream every day, wonderful cocktails with rum, very tasty beer.
Animation: live music with musicians every evening, performances by the pool.
The beach is equipped with super, hammocks, sun beds, umbrellas. The ocean is beautiful!
I would also like to note the convenient location, 10 minutes on foot to Varadero, but we went only a couple of times, and it was great for us at the hotel!

The 4-star hotel is quite ancient, the rooms especially on the ground floor are humid and the smell is such as to say antiquity. Try to move into the 2nd floor with a balcony where you can ventilate and the stench will not be felt that way. Food, the crisis shook the Cubans in terms of food, there was only one fish from the sea of products, there is plenty of rice, their potatoes are Yuca and Sweet potatoes. There is not much service, in Cuba, hotels with good service can be counted on the fingers of one hand, but God forbid there will be a price tag. In short, go to Cuba for the sea, the beach for whom the service is not the main thing they like.

I am writing a review from the hotel. We are relaxing with family and friends. Forget everything you've read before! We chose the hotel ourselves based on reviews, I regret that we trusted them. Before that, we were in Tuxpan in December. I liked the hotel, but this time we wanted to go to a hotel closer to Varadero in order to walk to the city. If only I could imagine what a 5-star *op we would end up in!
Now essentially Barcelo. It's not a five! And not even 3!
Pros: territory, ocean, few people on the beach. Everything!!!
Cons: Food. Breakfast is scrambled eggs and an omelet on a burnt stove with stubs on your omelet. Pancakes and pancakes are not fried. There was a cockroach walking through the pancakes this morning. Coffee is slop from a jug. There is no coffee machine. Coffee in the lobby bar is slop from the cheapest coffee in Cuba. There has been no milk in all bars for two days. They forgot about cappuccino. Tea is the cheapest and most disgusting. Yoghurts, cottage cheese and other dairy products are not. Porridge is not.
Lunch, dinner-the menu is the same. From the edible-white rice, overcooked chicken, fried fish without oil, dry and burnt. Pasta in inedible sauces. If you come the very first, you'll be lucky to get a lobster. They are given 3-5 pieces for the entire hotel. Whoever managed it ate it. We haven't had time yet))) Soup-just looking at it causes a gag reflex. Today, pigskin, fish, bananas, pumpkin and something else were floating. There are no soup plates, there are tea mugs for soup.
There is no greenery from the word at all! Sliced cabbage and cucumbers. Not a blade of grass!
Fruit:Mango, watermelon, papaya, and some more. The story is the same as with lobsters. I didn't have time to take it, no luck. Try it next time.
Bar:Beer and the cheapest rum. That's it!The cocktails are disgusting, you can't drink them.
Let's go to the city today, let's eat like a human being. The child is hungry for the second day. There are not even white, ordinary pasta!
Weather:it is very hot, humid and stuffy. It was sunny for the first 3 days until 4 o'clock, then black clouds are found and rain begins. It's cloudy all day today, but it's even better this way. The humidity is very high.
The ocean is very warm after lunch. Like in the bathroom. The pool is also warm.
Sooooo many mosquitoes!!! Probably because of the humidity. They stick around as soon as you go outside. Without a mosquito repellent, it is better not to go outside, several bite at once.
Conclusion:
If you are a non-drinker who has enough white rice 3 times a day, does not need coffee and tea, if you only go to the ocean, which is amazing, warm and calm, then you can take a chance and come to this hotel.
If you like fragrant coffee for breakfast, good pastries, a delicious omelet or a fried egg with bacon, for lunch and dinner a side dish with a good piece of meat, poultry or fish. And at the same time, if you want to try a variety of Cuban rum varieties, choose another hotel! Don't spoil your vacation the way we ruined it for ourselves.
In general, I concluded that summer is not a Cuban destination. We were in December 2023 and the emotions were exactly the opposite. But the hotel was different too)))

You can write endlessly, ordinary rooms with air conditioning, shower and a standard set for tourists, slightly worn furniture but in very good condition, everything is working properly. The food is good, I was not hungry for 10 days, 2 restaurants + 4 bars. But the most important thing is the beach and the ocean, in order to feel all its charm, you have to be there, no Turkey, Egypt and our Black Sea coast will leave such emotions from the sand and the purest water. Of the advantages
In general, very good rooms, though old. Everything is there, everything works, cleaned constantly. We were settled in a bungalow almost next to the beach. Not far to go to the sea, not far to the restaurant.
The territory of the hotel is quite large and very well maintained. There are a lot of animals around and it's nice to walk. There are several pools. But almost no one even swims in them, because Varadero has the most gorgeous beach. Just limitless. There are enough sun beds, there is no need to occupy them in advance. You can generally retire somewhere away from the hotel and lie on the white sand. On the beach you can rent catamarans or a boat and swim in the sea. For the first time, it's generally free for all new arrivals. The convenient location of the hotel is relative to some kind of civilization. On foot, literally five minutes to the central street of Varadero, where there are bars, restaurants and at least some entertainment for at least one or two evenings. In the afternoon, you can go to the tower and the statue of Don Quixote. It is located two hundred meters from the hotel. You can also go to the dolphinarium or just take a ride on double-decker buses throughout the hotel area. Stop right at the hotel.
Of the minuses
Very boring. Animation only in the evenings. And these are eternal dances, which are not very interesting to watch, since the dancers are hired so-so. And all the entertainment outside the hotel is limited to a couple of bars and a single rock club.
The worst thing about this hotel is the disgusting food. Monotonous food, bland, tasteless. It's very dirty in the restaurant. The dishes were all covered with flies and I had to choose clean plates and forks. The problem with teaspoons. Tea had to be stirred with knives. Alcohol is also monotonous and not tasty in bars. Bartenders are not at all worried about how to make a cocktail right from their cocktail list. They just splash some alcohol into a glass and pour colorful drinks like jupi from the 90s into it. There are also no normal bar dishes. Everything is in plastic cups.
On the third day, we began to rush around the neighborhood in search of normal and delicious food and alcohol. And this is also a problem. There is nothing adequate nearby. The only normal cafe we found in the shopping center in the center of the hotelier zone. You will have to go there by bus or taxi.
What else was annoying: not once in 14 days have we been exchanged for beach towels. By the end of the rest, they were already standing on a stake from salt and dirt. But we could not achieve a replacement. Every time we were told the famous "magnana".
The hotel staff are absolute don't care. And everyone doesn't care what a tourist needs. No one is worried about anything.
To be honest, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone for a holiday. Especially if you fly to Cuba for the first time. A beautiful country, magnificent nature, just a buzzing ocean and beaches. There are many good hotels. But this one is just out of the ordinary in its minuses)))

The best thing about the hotel is the ocean and the beach. There is no shortage in this.
There are no tablecloths on the tables in the dining area, tea utensils are running out quickly, spoons must be asked from the waiters. During the thirteen days of rest, there was never a fish!
There is only a bath towel in the room. For the face and legs - no! Get a beach towel from the maid after making an appointment at the reception. Catch the maid from 9 a.m. Do not forget to treat the maid (and all other Cubans involved in you) with paracetamol and Alenka chocolate. There are NO medicines in Cuba!
Take dollars with you, Cuba has started accepting payments with the Mir card. There is Wi-Fi in the hotel. But every time you need to reconnect.
They love tips in any format!
Mosquitoes are found in the rooms. Other animals enter the bungalow from the street.
The local population is friendly!

All hotels are very similar and have the same disadvantages. But if you come only in the evening and throw your bones on the bed, and go on excursions in the afternoon. Then there is no problem at all. It all depends on the mood.
The kitchen is really meager and boring, but we never went hungry either
The rooms were cleaned, but there were interruptions with paper, they took their shampoo (it was very useful)
The ocean is 2 minutes away, the view from the window is over the bay, there is a highway and it is noisy, but we are used to it
The hotel is for people who like excursions and are not very demanding of service.

It is better to take a 3/4 hotel than this five.
The food is disgusting, all week I ate rice, chicken, bread, cabbage and croissant, boiled fish (for an amateur), the rest fried, boiled bananas, strange salads. Sausage In other hotels there is at least some variety of seafood, they will give shrimp, fried fish, squid). All this is missing in this hotel.

There is not a single Russian-speaking receptionist in the hotel. They are present in other hotels.
But what finished me off the most was not the food, not the absence of at least one Russian-speaking employee, but the situation below.
I had a constant situation, the key was constantly not working, the electrician had to wait for 30-40 minutes. Imagine the situation, you come from the beach and wait for an electrician. You went out for coffee and are waiting for an electrician))) you came from a walk, an excursion and are waiting for an electrician, etc., since he repairs the lock to others)))

Итак, моя семья очень любит Барсело в Доминиканской Республике. Solymar действительно отличается.
Прежде всего, браслет не от Barcelo (см. изображения ниже)
Во-вторых, это место выглядит заброшенным. Barcyclub больше не является клубом. На стенах есть плесень. Повсюду ломается какая-то случайная плитка
В-третьих, место грязное. Лифт грязный.
Комната в плохом состоянии.
Я пытался сделать как можно больше фотографий. Сделайте свой собственный вывод. Я бы никогда не рекомендовал этот отель никому из своих друзей.

Первый раз были на Кубе, отель разочаровал. от Кубинцев не стоит ожидать сервиса, гостеприимства, им абсолютно все равно на все просьбы, зато очень хорошо умеют лицемерно улыбаться.
Номер был в потрепанном состоянии, к концу отдыха у нас в ванной сильно протекал потолок, так же сломалась дверь, не могли выйти из номера, пришлось самим разбирать замок, только так смогли выйти.
Непонятно для чего в номерах телефоны - позвонить с них невозможно.
Еда каждый день +- одна и та же, мясо как пластилин, зато много фруктов вкусных.
Бассейн часто бывает грязным, но его оперативно чистят, в обед около него всякие развлечения по типу мини-гольфа/зарядки..
Бармены работают на ура, все алкогольные напитки состоят из рома, что и логично..
До пляжа 5-7 минут, очень удобное расположение, за это плюс.
Так же, если захотите что-то купить/поесть в другом месте - езжайте в тц Америка Плаза, такси стоит 10€ до него от отеля.
В целом, нормально, очень средне, больше сюда не вернулась бы.

Куба - прекрасная страна. Больше не поеду. Если вы излишне щепетильны и брезгливы, то вам сюда не надо, грязь для местных - это норма жизни. И не очень они нам рады, многие неприветливы. Сервис на 1. Отель старый, мебель древняя, полотенца все в пятнах. Если вас привезли раньше 16.00-время заезда, то охранник на входе вас на порог не пустит, заставляет новых гостей ждать на улице на ступенях, поразительное гостеприимство. Из плюсов: удобная кровать и подушка, красивая территория, большой пустой пляж, лежаки всегда свободны, занимать не нужно (в соседней Melia с этим было очень напряжённо, и в воде у них было как в Анапе).
Кондиционер работает только в номере, поэтому готовьтесь потеть, сильно и много.
Пляжные полотенца - большая проблема, с трудом получили на следующий день, так что берите свои. Если все же выдали, то менять их никто не будет. Даже за деньги с огромным трудом поменяли 1 раз за 2 недели!
Самое неприятное - это ресторан. Тарелки и чашки грязные, иногда их вообще нет и приходится ждать. В окна залетают чёрные птицы и лезут в тарелки, оставить полную и отойти нельзя. Стулья и столы грязные. Однажды пришлось мыть себе тарелку в раковине для персонала в центре зала, т.к. выбрать более-менее чистую не удалось)). Ложки, сахар -большой дефицит, как и салфетки, выделяют по одной, поэтому все забирают с соседних столов. Главное правило выживания - в ресторане нужно выбирать не стол, а официанта. Они дежурят по зонам. С неправильно выбранным официантом рискуете остаться без кофе, ложек и т.д. На месте разберётесь, за чей стол стоит садиться. К пузатому белому мужику небольшого роста никогда не ходите, будет кричать ДА и ничего не делать, враждебно настроен к русским, совершенно отвратительный тип. То же с высоким чёрным стариканом с болячками на костяшках рук -если что-то принес, то считает, что вы уже ему должны, будет бежать за вами и бубнить по-испански, скорее всего не пожелания добра и счастья. Выбирайте молоденьких. На ужине нашли прекрасную девушку в дальнем зале слева (иногда была в центре), волосы жёлтым покрашены - выполняла все просьбы мгновенно, всегда улыбалась, стали благодарить её долларами и все были счастливы. Она даже приносила миску с водой, мыть руки после креветок, чего не делал больше никто. Вода для рук в кубинском варианте не с лимоном, а с огурцом)), и в яичницу добавить предлагают огурец или капусту, помидоров нет вообще. Из еды обязательно найдёте что-то, что понравится. Были суперские манго и авокадо. За жареным мясом вообще не стоит стоять в очереди. Жарят какие-то кости, или мясо, и то пересушивают. Стоять приходится долго, на жаровню выкладывают не более того, что поместится на обычной сковородке. Человека 4-5 получили, остальные опять ждите пока недовольный шеф выложит сырое и начнёт жарить, а иногда пока он ещё сходит неспешно на кухню за сырым мясом. А когда там и так течешь бесконечно, то возле этой жаровни вообще ад. Есть готовое тушёное мясо, очень приличное, называется Старая одежда))), типа нашей свинины для холодца, разобранной на волокна.
Волшебных коктейлей не нашли, понравился только безалкогольный Сан-Франциско и его алкогольная версия Ром Панч. На пляже бара нет, и музыки нет. В лобби-баре подали кофе с волосом на блюдце и пустую сахарницу)). Кое-какая анимация возле бассейна на испанском, т.к. в отеле большинство отдыхающих - кубинцы (хотя говорят, что на Кубе средняя зарплата 15$/мес.), очень шумные, сбиваются кучами по 8-10 человек и сидят весь день с термосами размером с чайник в бассейне с хлоркой, иногда заходят постоять в океане со своими чайниками.
В магазине только сувениры, сигары, вода, газировка, все дорого, пиво 0.33 -5$, ром около 30 $. Продуктовых магазинов нет вообще. Ром и сигары можно гораздо дешевле купить у сотрудников отеля (это называется чёрный рынок).
Несмотря ни на что, послевкусие приятное. Если выбора особого нет, то это лучше, чем в Москве, дождь и 16 градусов.

Жизнь в отеле Barselo Solymar, Варадеро, Куба, потому что за 16 ночей была прожита целая жизнь. Как сказал после возвращения в Россию один из новых друзей Владимир: "Нужно вернуть душу с Кубы домой", так как засыпая первые ночи или дни дома, ты возвращаешься во сне в отдых на Кубе. Что же касаемо самого отеля, а у нас был комплекс их трёх отелей Arenas Blancos и Palma Real, в которых можно посещать бары и рестораны, так вот Барсело один из лучших отелей Варадеро. Находится близко от посёлка, от рынков, ночных клубов. Отель состоит из многоэтажного основного здания с большим высоким холлом в центре, а также есть множество маленьких комфортных домиков (бунгало), которые находятся ближе к пляжу. Бассейны не глубокие, подойдут для детей и ленивых Канадцев, которые с огромными термокружками сидят в них целый день)), их там больше чем Россиян и Кубинцев. Я ни разу не залез в бассейн. На территории несколько баров и ресторанов, коктейли с ромом и пивом вкусные, а вот еда на Кубе не очень вкусная, готовить они не умеют. Есть ночной бар где вместе хорошего рома льют ацетон из пластика, можно перекусить бургером. Еду в номере лучше не хранить, привлечете таракашек). Горячая вода в бунгало - отделтная тема, первый раз нужно 5-10 минут прогнать чтобы дождаться реально горячей воды. Самое главное в отдыхе на Кубе это естественно пляж и океан, они сглаживают всё негативное, что может быть. Анимация на приемлемом уровне, танцы, песни, конкурсы.

These same tourists-neighbors sit in bars of Barcelo, sign up for general a la carte restaurants, etc... The main disadvantage is alcohol - or rather, its absence, in bars they pour only beer and rum (the cheapest), you can forget about 7 years and so on. There is no wine or champagne in bars from the word 'at all'. There is no bar on the beach at all, you need to go to the hotel. Cocktails (2-3 types) are made on the basis of concentrates, absolutely not tasty. It periodically ends up in bars with rum, cola, etc. That is, with minimal choice, this is not enough. For someone, there will also be a minus - there is no animation in the hotel, evening programs are minimal. There is live music, but it is repeated in a circle. The room stock is as lucky as you are, but definitely not fresh. The equipment is old, it works with the last of its strength. We had water running from the ceiling in the bathroom. The air conditioners in the dining rooms are barely breathing cool, not very comfortable. There are many foreigners in the hotel.
On the positive side - the beach, the ocean, friendly staff, but strongly tailored to Canadians.
As a result, 4 points to this hotel by Cuban standards, with a stretch.

Приехали. 2-й раз на Кубу. Это товарищи треш. Первый раз были на Кая Коко и там отель нормальный был . Здесь даже 3-й не пахнет. Все убитое. Полотенец пляжных нет. Из напитков только ром. Даже сока нет ребенку. Одно радует номер с видом на океан. Читала отзывы и думала люди придумывают и не бывает так , но нет отзывы все правдивые

Хороший отель. Номера расположены в бунгало и в главном корпусе, первая береговая линия с шикарным пляжем, который затмевает собой все мелкие недостатки.

There is no service. They don't always bring water to the room, although they should every day. The administrator's requests to bring water were left without result. We bought it ourselves. To change the towels, you need to leave a tip. The rooms are very tired.

Были в декабре 2019
Отель старенький но в номерах чисто. Во всех неплохие виды.
Территория оч понравилась, тк оооч много зелени, есть супер огроменный кактус.
Пляж вот он, прям рядом.
Еда средняя, но нормально.
Когда мы были то можно было юзать бассейны и пляжи соседнего отеля. Ну и в столовку мы тоже их ходили, там было получше и выбор больше.
Расположение неплохое, есть куда пройтись.

Отвратительно: горничная за 14 дней была всего два раза не смотря на хорошие чаевые; интернет и сплиты не работают; тараканы..
