It turns out that there are several Boris stones. I visited the first Borisov Stone. It was installed at St. Sophia Cathedral in Polotsk, Belarus. All the stones mention the name of Grand Duke Boris with a carved Christian cross. These stones were installed either as border stones of the Principality of Polotsk, or during the famine years. However, historians have not come to a consensus. This red feldspar stone, about 3 meters horizontally and more than two meters high, was once located in the bed of the Western Dvina River, interfering with the passage of river vessels. In 1889, there was an attempt to raise it from the river, but it happened only almost 100 years later, in 1981. Now it is a monument of geology and architecture, it is under state protection! Beautiful views open both from the installation sites to the horizons of the Western Dvina and to the surroundings of the historical territory around! I recommend you to visit!

Near St. Sophia's Cathedral there is a boulder 12 in, the inscription on which was knocked out by Prince Boris Vseslavovich himself. There are also such stones in the Boaslpvsky and Vileysky districts. It is believed that you need to touch a boulder, make a wish, walk around it three times and be sure to believe that it will come true.

I've been there twice, and of course it seemed much bigger when I was a kid. Around the stone there are beautiful views of the river on one side and St. Sophia Cathedral on the other. On the downside: there is a certain belief that coins need to be inserted into the stone, so literally at the same minute, local children, under the supervision of local parents, pull out all these coins, leaving a strange residue after what they saw) There is a suspension bridge nearby, I recommend a visit. There is an organ in the cathedral and concerts are held regularly, I also recommend it!
