How can this be!
The waiter almost throws the menu in the face, it is not possible to get through: they huddle and chat with each other, as in a joke, if you decide to take the food with you, you will get a tray and you will put it yourself.
Apparently, it is a Yerevan service.
The only pleasant thing besides the interior and kitchen is that you can pay your bill with a world card.

We arrived with my husband in Yerevan, decided to visit such a place advertised by bloggers on Amiryan Street "Caucasian captive". What can I say.... we thought we'd sit down and try different national dishes, but... The pork ribs have done their job. They were dry, the meat could not be chewed, the husband did not even eat them. When we told the waiter about it, the receptionist then came up to us and said that it meets the standards of cooking of our institution. Alas and ah! If these are the standards when guests (not just us) complain that it is impossible to eat, then...Draw conclusions, gentlemen! Another of the disadvantages, it seemed to me, we were not exactly welcome, since we came together and, probably, in their opinion, we would have ordered little.But, believe me, in other establishments we ordered many different dishes, and left decent checks.
Of the pros: sooo delicious eggplant salad! I recommend it!
And the guys -dancers, just fire, did the show perfectly!
Conclusion: do not listen to bloggers, the meat there is really tasteless. There are a lot of other places in Yerevan where you can have a great and delicious meal. We will not return here

A very atmospheric place! Everything is cool and detailed based on the film of the same name. The dishes are beautiful, large, khachapuri with double yolk, well, just lick your fingers. But the khinkali was pumped up, so sharp that the taste of the food was not felt. I didn't like them, even though they were juicy. It's good that the children took the cradle and potatoes, otherwise they would have to leave the khinkali, because it's impossible to eat!

There are 2 establishments with the same name in Yerevan. Here is a post about a restaurant on Amiryan Street.
The location is excellent. Several halls. It is better to make an appointment in the central hall in advance, there is a show program and it is usually busy. If you want to eat in a quieter environment, then go to the far one. A beautiful entourage from a famous movie.
There are many dishes on the menu that can satisfy anyone. Mutton, beef, pork, fish - everything is there. Delicious. I think the eggplant salad is one of the best in the city. Lamb kebab too.

05.11.24 I was at the Caucasian Captive restaurant on Sayat-Nova 25.
I ordered a lamb kebab, barbecue sauce, Choban salad.
The salad is cut as large as possible, it tastes normal (fresh vegetables), the price is 1900 drams (almost 500 rubles.) for a simple vegetable salad, it is clearly overpriced.
But the apogee of the apotheosis was a barbecue - four small dry pieces on thin pita bread and a mountain of simple white onions that would tear your stomach to shreds. One of these four tiny pieces was impossible to chew because of the solid veins. The waitress asked if everything was okay. I honestly outlined the situation, the answer is generally expected: well, yes, probably a bit harsh meat… Well, yes, apparently in this institution it is completely normal for 3800 drams (900 rubles.) serve dry sole instead of juicy and soft meat.
Before I tried the kebab, I wanted to take another dessert, but the waitress could not clearly explain what cream was in the cakes, what they were made of, Googled and looked on the Internet…
After the barbecue, the desire to taste dessert disappeared completely.
They charge 10% for the service (in Portofino, the coolest Italian resort - 15%) - for what, it is not clear.
In general, there is no entourage at the restaurant, no service, no restaurant-level food. Apart from the pretentious prices, nothing hints at the restaurant.
Therefore, I do not understand the rave reviews, maybe I was so unlucky. Maybe on Amiryan 6 the quality is completely different, but I write as it is.
The mood is spoiled, expectations were not met (I went there after reading the reviews). The place is clearly overrated.
I put one star ONLY FOR LIVE MUSIC: the pianist played wonderfully there.

In order for the administration to punish the scoundrel: we had lunch on 10/29.24 in the afternoon, ordered sterlet, kharcho and a cold dish of eggplant and pepper. We were sitting in the hall at the end of the restaurant, which you need to go to on the right side and turn left at the end. The waiter is a middle-aged man. Otherwise, there are no complaints, either about the food or the interior.

The place is a tourist destination, there are a lot of visitors, so now there is zero. Only big companies are welcome. If you came as a couple, then you are not welcome, we were taken to a separate small hall near the kitchen, completely forgotten by people, no coziness or comfort, when asked to sit in a large hall (there were 5 empty tables), they replied that everything was registered, which is clearly not true, some tables were simply not cleaned (people had just left).
We went in the evening, there were no seats, asked to reserve a table for lunch, said that it was not necessary, it was free at lunch, come. We came, but somehow I didn't want to sit in the restaurant behind the kitchen, with free tables and almost all free separate rooms for the company.
Prices are above average, and the level of service is exceptionally low, as tourists go for the sake of the name and see the statues of their favorite movie characters. The composition is interesting, and the statues themselves are of extremely low quality, only a distant similarity.
Make your own conclusion: the restaurant refused to board 2 people in anticipation of large companies, when the restaurant is loaded 50%. Well, that is, he did not refuse, but offered to sit in the backyard behind the kitchen.
If you are satisfied with this attitude towards yourself (and many are satisfied, judging by the crammed small hall behind the kitchen), then this is your choice.

It's a wonderful place. We've been to two restaurants three times. We returned to a smaller restaurant on Nalbandian Street for the second time. Just because the service is quieter and faster there. Many thanks to the waiter Anya and the girl who played the piano. Both have excellent cuisine. Everything is delicious. I recommend khinkali! Just a bomb.

We went in for dinner and we got the last table. Hooray, lucky! - we thought.... and basically that was the end of luck. The entourage is impressive, paintings on the subject, statuettes with scenes from the film on the table, everything is very cool, live music was playing 👍 we made an order from the menu based on the advice of the waiter. Finally:we waited for 30 minutes, chicken wings were brought instead of ribs (they did not replace them, because they had been waiting for a long time and had been hungry for a long time), salads were brought 10 minutes after other hot dishes, lemonade was brought only when we were reminded of drinks for the second time AFTER all the edibles, when we were about to leave. Moreover, the order was for a carafe of lemonade, they brought 2 glasses of a drink, where half was filled with ice. Very correctly and choosing words (I don't like to swear), I asked to remove the "service" position from the account, because it was not from the word "at all", there were no questions about food - everything is delicious. As a result, the administrator came and literally yelled at us that we were ungrateful and did not need to place an order since we did not want to pay for the service, we were served by a young guy and he was INEXPERIENCED. This is the first time I have come across such a thing that the administrator spoke so rudely to the guests, and did not apologize for the confused employee. There were three of us girls, polite, not aggressive, sober)) enthusiastic about the city and the country. Armenians are famous for their hospitality and respectful attitude towards guests, BUT it's as if they are not in this institution. There was a couple sitting at the next table, who were also shocked by the service - there is a sign on each table stating that a discount is provided on the account on the birthday. But they were refused, roughly motivated by the fact that the discount is only if they order a cake (whole!!!), and there was no such note on the plate. In general, the staff of the institution that evening (04/7/2024) apparently had the "wrong day" that they so sharply crossed out the opinion about the hospitality of Armenians.
