A luxurious palace complex! The cost of one entrance ticket in April was 2000 lire, now it has become more expensive. By leaving a document as a deposit (we left passports), you can additionally take an audio guide and listen to information about a particular location. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. The walls breathe history, everywhere there are stunning hand-made ceramic tiles, incredible handmade, so fine that the question arises whether a person could have created such a thing, everywhere and in everything! The exposition is simply huge, you can spend the whole day at this museum, and it will be an absolutely unforgettable experience!

I've seen a lot of posts and videos about the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul for a long time, and finally I came here myself - and this place exceeded all expectations! First, the very view of the palace from the outside – the powerful walls, the ancient gates, the feeling as if he stepped straight into the era of the sultans. The entrance is convenient, tickets are no problem, you can take an audio guide (I highly recommend it, otherwise you will miss a lot). The atmosphere inside is simply unreal! Spacious courtyards, manicured gardens with stunning views of the Bosphorus. I was especially impressed by the harem – luxurious rooms, tiles, stained glass windows... you can feel how life was here hundreds of years ago. The treasure trove is a separate delight! The Kashikchi diamond, golden thrones, and jewels are all real, with a story. I can't believe it's not a movie set. The only thing is that there are a lot of people, but this is not surprising, because the place is legendary. If you arrive in the morning, the queue is smaller. In general, Topkapi Palace is a must visit in Istanbul! This is not just a museum, but a real time travel. If you are in the city, do not miss it! 10/10!

The visit costs fabulous money - 2,400 Turkish lira (about 4,800 rubles), but I didn't regret it. Endless territory, we walked around for 3 and a half hours, my back told me "goodbye" after a couple of hours))) But I couldn't avoid going into some of the buildings, I think they went around everything. I liked the interior, the museum exhibit, and the architecture. Very interesting. There is an audio guide in many languages, including Russian, included in the price. I couldn't handle him very well, so I watched half the territory without him. 😅

Topkapi Palace is one of the most impressive sights in Istanbul. This is not just a palace, but a huge historical complex where the Ottoman sultans lived and ruled for almost 400 years. The space here is arranged like a city within a city: gardens, halls, pavilions, terraces and museum collections. You can feel the weight of the story as you enter. The first courtyard has green lawns, fountains, and silence. In the second courtyard there are halls for state affairs, a kitchen with hundreds of copper boilers and an armory. Everything is very well preserved, and you can see the respect with which architecture and details were treated. The third courtyard, the treasury and the Hall of sacred Relics, evokes the strongest emotions. Jewels, objects of power, and ancient manuscripts are collected here. This is a place where you can stop for a long time at every showcase. The harem is also worth a visit — the sultan's private chambers, corridors, separate halls — everything is filled with the atmosphere of private life of the court, closed from the eyes. The terraces offer stunning views of the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. It is especially beautiful there at sunset, when the soft light falls on the domes and marble paths. It is better to plan an inspection of the palace for the first half of the day and plan at least three hours. Tickets to the harem are purchased separately. It's better to take an audio guide or come with a guide — it really deepens the impression. Topkapi is a place where history comes to life. I highly recommend it.

Those who watched the Magnificent Century series will definitely be interested. For example, to see with your own eyes the chambers of the Valide, the rooms of the eunuchs, to walk along the Golden Path, to see the stairs of kalfa, which leads to the upper floors, the real caftans of sultans, shehzadeh and concubines. They're not like in the movies at all. Absolutely stunning ceilings, extremely beautiful. A work of art. You can stand and look at them for a long time. There are a lot of hamams, all of them are about the same, except for the sultan's hamam. You'll learn a lot of places that you've seen in the series. Please note that the entrance to Topkapi is by e-pass only with a guide, otherwise you will not enter. You can buy a ticket, but it is much more expensive than taking an e-pass. The harem is paid separately. It is very profitable to visit various places with an e-pass, but you need to look at the harem separately. Unfortunately, there is no auto guide, or we didn't find it, so we have to Google what you're looking at very quickly. It takes at least 4 hours to see everything and not run. Don't forget to bring water with you. There is a toilet only in the first garden, it's right as soon as you pass the first gate, then there are no toilets in the 2nd and 3rd gardens. You can't tell about everything in the review, you need to watch.

We were in the middle of June 2025. We bought a package ticket. In fact: the Church of St. Irina's inside is empty and buried for repairs. There is nothing to do without a guide. The harem, on the left side of the entrance, is a complex of buildings with cramped and empty rooms. There's nothing to see. I liked: the treasury, the Museum of weapons, the museum of costume. Several restored pavilions at the end of the cape, where the Magnificent Century was filmed. Pavilions filled with furniture are allowed only on the threshold of rooms. You can enter the empty pavilions and look at the tiles on the walls. The views of the Bosphorus are amazing. To the right, along the course of the kitchens, there are a lot of porcelain and metal dishes, shade and few people. There is also a small cafe where you can sit down. If you want to save on tickets, then the Harem and the Church of St. Irinas can be skipped

Topkapi Palace — a whole world inside Istanbul Visiting Topkapi Palace is not just a walk through the museum, it is a real immersion in the era of sultans, treasures and the great Ottoman history. The territory is huge, green, well maintained. Each building, each hall is like a separate chapter, full of amazing details. The interiors are amazing — tiles, stained glass windows, mosaics, the finest ornaments on the walls, antique furniture, personal belongings of the sultans. I was especially impressed by the jeweled room — everything glitters, shimmers, I can't believe that such a thing even exists. The swords, the throne, the clothes—it's like something out of a movie, but it's real. Special attention should be paid to the harem, an atmospheric, slightly mysterious place. There is also a view of the Bosphorus from the terraces. It's already worth coming for this view! The museum is very well organized: there is a lot of information, plaques, interactivity. It's better to come with plenty of time — it's impossible to run here, you want to look at everything, inhale, absorb. , Advantages: — Magnificent architecture and interiors — The historical atmosphere is like in the TV series "The Magnificent Century" — The treasury and the harem are impressive — The picturesque view of the Bosphorus — Well-maintained territory, good organization 💭 Summary: Topkapi Palace is the heart of the Ottoman Empire, vibrant and majestic. A must-visit! Take comfortable shoes, a camera, and the mood to travel through time.

Must-visit 🤌 The heart of Istanbul, Topkapi Palace. A stunningly beautiful place and, of course, the most popular. Get ready for a lot of tourists, so I advise you to visit this place in the morning. The territory is huge, it takes a lot of time to see everything. You can take pictures, hooray If you go in early April, then at the entrance to the territory, magnificent flower fields will open in front of you. At this time, tulips and other flowers are blooming in the garden in front of the palace, the sight is mesmerizing. I guarantee that you will stay there for a long time. The place is very beautiful, with a museum, a palace, a harem, and views of the Bosphorus from the balcony. I can't put my phone away for a minute, because I want to capture everything.

The palace impresses with the beauty of its decoration and architecture, each element is hand-painted. I recommend purchasing an audio guide when buying a ticket, so the tour will be more informative. Magnificent collections of Ottoman treasures - rare and unique copies of books inlaid with stones, jewelry, weapons and more. Beautiful views of the Bosphorus and landscaping in the courtyards. Of the cons : This is the most expensive museum in Turkey, you can buy a ticket without visiting the harem, but there is no point in looking without it. Most of the rooms are closed for restoration, and of course there are crowds of tourists, although we got on a tour on a weekday. If you are a fan of The Magnificent Century and expect to see everything as in the series, you may be disappointed by the obvious differences between reality and the on-screen version.

Rather, it is a gigantic palace complex and one of the largest museums in the world. Before visiting, it is advisable to read the history in order to set priorities. From my point of view, the third courtyard is of the greatest interest, which houses the treasury, library, private chambers and reception rooms, including the throne room. Here you can see unique treasures such as the Spoon Diamond, the Topkapi dagger, the Piri Reis world map, and the sword of Sultan Mehmed II. The Kashikchi diamond is one of the largest in the world - 68 carats. According to legend, it was found by a poor man who did not represent its true value and was exchanged at a jeweler for three wooden spoons, from where it got its name. The Topkapi dagger with three huge emeralds on the handle in a golden sheath was originally made as a gift to the Shah of Persia, but while the gift was being transported, the shah was killed. The dagger was returned to Topkapi and it was used to kill the pretenders to the throne. The time of death was recorded by a clock embedded in the handle. The Piri Reis world map is one of the first to accurately depict the coasts of the American continents. The sword of Fatih, strictly speaking, is the saber of the sultan who conquered Constantinople. And this is a small fraction of the richest collections of jewelry, watches, weapons, porcelain, and manuscripts. In general, there are still three more courtyards and a harem to explore. The latter, however, is likely to be of interest only to fans of the TV series "Magnificent Century".

Lots of tourists. It's better to go to the opening. The price for June 25 is 2,400 lire for an adult. Of course it's worth a visit, it's a very beautiful palace, for that time, just gorgeous. It is better to take a guide, because the audio guide in Russian is about nothing. The audio guide is free, with a passport or driver's license as a deposit. The time limit is at least 4 hours. The territory is very large, there is a lot of walking.

Very big. The territory and premises are diverse. It is better to take a tour guide. But it's hard with children. Interesting, beautiful, informative. I liked the decorations, things, clothes and household items. I recommend. It takes several hours, preferably with a break and rest. We were in Hagia Sophia, then in Topkapi, had a rest there, then we stopped at the Sultanahmet bus stop at McDonald's, then we went to the Hagia Sophia Museum. I was busy all day from morning to evening. Tired of walking, even though everything is nearby. A 10-year-old child without an excursion just got tired already in the middle of the Topkapi. But we liked everything, especially the Hagia Sophia Museum and the interactive halls telling its story.

The palace itself and the "harem" inside it are definitely worth the money for the ticket. We took an audio guide, it helped a lot. A wonderful place where you can wander all day looking at the beauty. Of the minor inconveniences, this is the only toilet to the right of the entrance and the only kiosk with water and other drinks at exorbitant prices.

It's a very beautiful place and worth the money. There is a huge palace of the Ottoman Empire, each part has its own history. I advise you to come early before lunch. The walk will take at least 3.5 hours. It also houses the belongings of many prophets: Muhammad S.A.V., Ibrahim, Moses, David. As well as a 350 lira ticket for international students, and 2,400 lira for ordinary mortals. ~60$. I recommend it!

It's very interesting and original. There are not only a harem on the territory, but also a lot of museums. Clothing, weapons, jewelry, gifts to sultans, household items and tableware. But most importantly, there is a museum of shrines. The things of the Prophet Muhammad, the staff of Moses. The ticket is expensive for tourists (2025 - 2400lr), a 10-year-old child was sold a ticket at the box office for 360lr. Nowhere in the rules does it say that foreigners are entitled to such a discount, they themselves make such a discount at the checkout when the family goes. It was nice, I didn't even expect it.

I was on my own with an audio guide, which, compared to the guide in Hagia Sophia, seemed to me less successful/convenient (it makes sense to take my headphones with a classic connector- it will be much more convenient). The crowd! But there is a lot to see, I spent 4.5 hours there, but I was in no hurry and went my own route. The expensive entrance is 2400 liras without an excursion. You need to leave your passport/driver's license as collateral for the audio guide. Need to visit!!!!

We got into the Topcaps on the second attempt. The first one was unsuccessful on Tuesday. And the palace is closed on Tuesdays. A huge green parrot flew out to meet us. On the second attempt, they already got inside. Of course, there is very little left of the beautiful palace of the sultans. But it's also impressive. First we get to the first courtyard garden. then the second courtyard with towers. There is a magnificent museum of military equipment in the Treasury building. Weapons are especially interesting for people over 3 meters tall!!!! And they also say that there were no giants. Yes, they were. Otherwise, why and who used such weapons? The living quarters and the harem were a bit disappointing, there wasn't much left. There are very few rooms to look at, and considering that Valide alone had 40 rooms, where did it all go? There is an ancient church of St. Irene on the territory of Topkapi. Impressive in size. The walls, of course, are all ruthlessly stripped. The painting under the dome is interesting. No Christian symbols. The breath of time is very interesting. I recommend that you spend at least 5-6 hours watching everything.

I ran, dreamed, and flew to see the historic, centuries-old palace and park complex, which remained the main palace of the Ottoman Empire for almost 400 years, alas! You can never surpass the grandeur and beauty of the St. Petersburg palaces, the Peterhof Palace and park complex, it's worth paying money for it!But I don't want to pay 50 euros for disappointment, everything is dull, dreary, places are not well-groomed and abandoned, queues, yes, they are everywhere, the free audio guide at the entrance works every other time, there is a minimum of information (on the dump), there is Wi-Fi, but it only works at the entrance and that's it!In short, to be honest, it's a pity for the time and money spent, But once in a lifetime you need to see it for a "tick", so to speak.

It's a bit expensive, but there are a lot of impressions. Take your phone with headphones with you and you won't have to take their audio guide secured by documents! It was very interesting to see this palace. I especially liked the harem. While the main rooms of Topkapi were turned into a museum, the harem remained imbued with the spirit of the time when concubines and the sultan's family lived in it. However, looking at the photos of other guests of these places, I realize that not everything was available to me. It's frustrating, but it's random. A wonderful palace for lovers of ancient history. You can get lost studying for the whole day. But! Is it not clear why such an exorbitantly huge cost is more expensive for foreigners than in the Louvre? The queues are insane, and if you didn't get to the opening, then you don't have to. There are so many people that they just don't let you look and read, the guards are constantly rushing you to pass faster. The audio guide is half-set up incorrectly and does not match the language at all. There are a lot of people and not much to actually see. The harem is a large corridor with stairs, ascents and descents, alternating with a crowd of tourist crews. Prepare your legs and stretch them before visiting, because you will always be standing, waiting and slowly trailing after someone. I'm shocked! You can't buy anything, even banal water, for cash! Only according to the map, which you yourself know the problems of Russian tourists, seriously, water??? That is, a person must die, but I'm sorry, if you don't have a visa or Mastercard, then die. That's mainly why it's such an assessment, because it's hard when you feel like you're not like everyone else. The best part is the last courtyard, good panoramas, beautiful interiors only there and, attention, the only tent that accepted cash to buy water. After an hour of walking and waiting in lines, you already get very tired because of the not-so-well-organized viewing..

The history of the Ottoman administration spans 500 years. We walked for 5 hours (since autumn they work until 17:00. They didn't take it into account, thinking that it was before 18:00) and unfortunately there wasn't enough time for the harem. We've seen the series. We've read the reviews. We watched the photos. It is interesting to consider the details of the interior, mosaic, stained glass windows and other important things. The entrance fee is 2400 lire. Expensive. We visited in November in the second decade of the month- no queues. A minus star for the high cost and a completely useless thing - an audio guide is included in the ticket price secured by a passport. The price is prohibitively high (2400 rubles, 5 thousand rubles). There are queues everywhere, but the flow is not regulated and you will be watching jewelry from the same queue. The queue at the checkout took 20 minutes, starting from the beginning of the "ribbons" Harems for an additional fee, another 900 lire (2 thousand rubles). A very bad audio guide. Half of the information is simply not given. Some of the information is not in Russian for some reason. It is issued on the security of a passport. The audio guide is just a smartphone with a program, you put it to your ear and listen. Many turned up the volume strongly and their broadcasting was heard by everyone around. I heard the guides in Russian, but the story was very bad. It's beautiful, you can get acquainted with all kinds of art of the Ottoman Empire. It took 3.5 hours to walk through all the halls without reading the signs and examining the exhibits. So, what caught my eye - I stopped there for a few seconds. Topkapi Sarayi Palace is a historic palace in Istanbul that served as the residence of the Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years, from the 15th century to the end of the 19th century. It was built in 1459 on the instructions of Sultan Mehmed II, after the capture of Constantinople. The palace is located on a high hill in the old part of the city, between the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara, and is strategically important both for the Ottoman Empire and for Turkish history in general. Topkapi consists of several courtyards, pavilions and gardens. Both the administrative and personal quarters of the sultans and their families were located here. Topkapi is also known for its collections, including weapons, jewelry, manuscripts, and holy relics such as the swords of the Prophet Muhammad and his clothes. Today, the palace is a museum open to visitors and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Istanbul.

The second is a very high price tag, by the way, it includes a free audio guide in different languages (take a document with you, it is needed for the deposit for the audio guide). Thirdly, there are few exhibits, you will see more and more colorful things in Dolbabahce Palace.

This is definitely a place to go, especially if you're a fan of the magnificent century. The palace and its territory are quite large, about 3-4 hours. The place is worth its 2000 lire, especially since the price includes an audio guide, which you will have to figure out, but if you figure it out, it will be more interesting to walk around the palace. I'll give you 4 points for queues that can't be avoided, and in general for the number of people who are allowed into the palace. There are a lot of people. You don't walk on your own, you're just being carried by the crowd.

Our dream of visiting Topkapi Castle has come true. Everything is clean and tidy on the territory. Although the weather didn't work out that day, it was windy, wet and cold, the visit to Topkapi itself will be remembered for a long time. It was interesting to look at the history of the "Magnificent Century". I was a little disappointed that I couldn't buy tickets at the box office near the entrance, there wasn't a single person there, but they sell tickets only for locals. Surprisingly, but a fact. And, of course, the high prices for visits are not justified, compared to the local population, the price is 8-10 times higher. Overall, we are satisfied, but we will consider whether to visit again upon arrival in Istanbul.

An interesting place. It seemed expensive, 2,400 lire. The audio guide is included in the ticket, but you must deposit your passport or other document. They don't take money as collateral.
