Nostalgia about the Soviet Union, a functional hotel, a restaurant and a cafeteria nearby. The historical center of the city. Once I came with a girl and wanted to rent a room for the night, the receptionist did not let me in, so the service is clearly not up to par. Money does not smell, but there is clearly some kind of face control working here. 🙂😁 👹

The Dvina Hotel is located in the very center of Polotsk. All the sights are within walking distance. We spent two wonderful spring days in a beautiful city and two nights in a hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel building itself, which was built in the post-war years, is very interesting. Nearby there is a cafe of Belarusian cuisine "Gourmet". They cook very tasty. We will definitely come to this wonderful city and stay at the Dvina Hotel.

I stayed in a suite on the third floor
I really liked it
The room had a balcony, the view was gorgeous. The bed is comfortable, the room is spacious. The girl Dina at the reception is very friendly, quickly settled in, suggested where it is better to eat, and so on.
In general, I recommend it, minus no breakfast.

A gorgeous building (a real palace :)), a beautiful view from the window, very nice young people at the reception. The room is spacious, there is a refrigerator, but there is no kettle. One of the disadvantages is a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom, I had to close the door very tightly (spoiled the whole impression)...

Since 2016, I have been staying at this hotel when I go to visit relatives, for many reasons: firstly, it is budget-friendly, as for me a resident of St. Petersburg, secondly, it is located 15-20 minutes walk from the railway and bus stations, round-the-clock check-in, which is very convenient. My train arrives at night, there is Parking for those traveling by car, the rooms are always clean, very friendly and courteous staff.

We stayed here for one night. If they knew what was inside, they would probably have moved on. No, the toilet and shower worked, but that's still not enough. The condition of the room is frozen at about the level of 1983. The red price for all this squalor is well 30p, but not 95. The last straw was one and a half blankets for a double 160cm bed. The mood was spoiled for a few days ahead. Guys, look at what the service should be for 3000 Russian rubles, for example, at the Premier Hotel in Smolensk, where we spent the night the day before.

Positive:
- Location in the historical center of the city
- gorgeous spacious staircase
BUT all this is not the merit of the hotel, rather, the Union building.
And now for the cons.
1. It all started with the unpleasant smell of paint and the lack of fresh air on the 3rd floor. Repairs are being done here right in front of the residents. This is of course 10 out of 10, I have never seen anything like this anywhere.
2. Our door was covered with masking tape, when trying to remove it, my husband and I got smeared in that fresh white paint 👍👍👍👍
3. The floor in the corridor is like on a construction site, in the elevator lobby - in general, the whitewash is smeared on the floor and dragged by shoes along the corridor. Gorgeous!
4. Renovation in the room is cheap wallpaper and laminate, without a single color scheme. So, for example, in a room where the shades are warmer, there is a purple sofa. Chic, glitter, beauty. The wireless Internet normally catches only in the hallway. In the rooms, he just turns off.
5. Bathroom: cracked tiles on a crooked floor, a circle from the toilet glued to double-sided tape (I wanted to lower it and the circle remained in my hands), a hair dryer in a box and the coolest thing is the LACK of HOT WATER. To wash, standing in goosebumps, with water at a temperature of 20-22 degrees - this is exactly what I expected from the hotel! 👍👍👍
6. The floors are dirty, the handles on the doors are breathing heavily, the interior thresholds were seen by the Soviet Union.
7. There is no tea and coffee in the room (apparently, this is a luxury, although I have not seen empty rooms for a long time, usually tea, coffee and water in the room is an unshakable rule even in inexpensive hotels).
There are no slippers or bathrobes. Really, what is it?
There are no shoe accessories or even an elementary shoe spoon in the room.
8. The hotel was half empty, and nevertheless at 23.40 the neighbor's door started slamming and slammed until 2 a.m. Great! If these are tenants, the question is with the staff, what kind of fun is it to check in rooms next to an empty floor??? And if not the tenants, but the staff decided to finish something in this room - well, then there are no words at all.
9. The most fucking negative is cleaning at 8 a.m. Imagine that you are resting on your well-deserved vacation, and they start to *** you with a mop on the door. At 8 a.m. Yes, with such a roar, as if the building was being demolished. Cool, isn't it? And then the same cleaner goes to the floor above you and starts *** there, on your ceiling. He moves and throws furniture, hits walls, talks loudly. You can immediately see that the service is on the level!!!
In general, if it were possible to put 0, I would put it. For 110 Belarusian rubles (3,000 Russian rubles) per night, it's just throwing money in the trash. Zero service, this hotel knows nothing about the hotel business. From the word "completely".

The historical center, the pedestrian Skaryna street, a memorial sign to the letter "Y" and a sign of the geographical center.
Go down to the Western Dvina, near St. Sophia Cathedral.
The last time we stayed, it was very cold in the room (the heating had already been turned off, and the sun had not yet been turned on). But the warm blanket saved me.
Clean linen and towels. The single bed, of course, was too small. And the mattress left much to be desired. But this is a standard room. Probably, everything in the suites is luxurious))
Otherwise, everything is fine. Not far from the train stations. The staff is wonderful. We checked in earlier if the room was free, or we were given the opportunity to leave things)

We booked a room. The "song" started right away. They said that there were rooms, but they could not book (then they realized that they were waiting for the go-ahead from some tour group) and would call back tomorrow. There was no call. We called back, it turned out that the room had been booked for us. Everything is fine. A letter arrives 2 days before arrival: by decision of the executive committee, we cancel the reservation! Apparently, guests come for a holiday (independence day and, As it turned out, the second day of the city), so I don't care about the reservation. Here is such a "wonderful" service

And although there is no complete Stalinist ensemble here, there are several buildings in the city that are not at all regional.

The Dvina Hotel is the best hotel in Polotsk.Stayed with my family for the weekend in a family room.A family room, by the way, is a luxurious two-room suite with all amenities.A very comfortable double bed with snow-white clean linen, a folding sofa for children in the living room.We needed another extra blanket, the hotel staff immediately fulfilled all our wishes.
The children were not bored at all, they immediately found something to do - they arranged a photo shoot.Believe me, it was where!A luxurious pompous staircase with railings and a building facade with columns - what could be better for a novice photographer!
In the morning, without waiting for the cafe to open, the lovely receptionists will prepare delicious coffee for you at the reception.

I'll start with a good one. The staff is as polite and friendly as possible. They have 5 stars.
The location is also the best. The city center is a good place for walking, shopping. This is also the maximum score.
A super mattress on the bed. My back is happy. The bed doesn't creak or wobble. Also a credit.
The rooms are greetings from 90. Well, or zero. Apparently they were doing repairs then. The TV is portable, the remote control does not work. The refrigerator does not freeze, but it hums very loudly.
The towels are clean but frayed.
The shower tray is dirty. It's really dirty, as if you haven't heard of cleaning products.
Cleanliness in the room - well, no. It's dusty. Hair from previous guests is everywhere. On the table, even on the walls)
I won't tell you about the food. We ate in another place ..
The conclusion is that you can spend the night.

This hotel is not worth any stars.
But about everything in order. We travel a lot with our family. And we are the most unpretentious guests.
But what is happening in this hotel, I can only name one thing. This is a deliberate deception.
The condition of the rooms does not correspond not only to the accommodation, but even to the minimal presence in them.
This time our trip to Belarus ended with the beautiful and small town of Polotsk.
The reservation at the Slavyansky complex was made through an official application by e-mail.
I was confirmed with a reservation for 2 nights from May 5th to 7th.
Family room for 3 persons.
Honestly, I was guided by the review and the location of the hotel.
Dina, the receptionist, met us at the reception. Who was so engrossed in conversation with the maid that she casually gave us the keys. Without explaining where the room is, on which floor, the wi-fi password.
And anyway, she was clearly not up to the guests.
The payment was made upon receipt of the keys.
We took the elevator to the 3rd floor.
And then the Bermuda triangle began. The chronology was lost at number 333, and then there was 335 at once.
There is dirt on the floor, some kind of repair.
We found our pseudolux at the very end of the corridor.
The door was open, or rather, it was probably forced before that.
The room was a ward with 4 beds. And a view of the garbage dump.
It doesn't matter that we lowered the blinds.
I went down to the reception to find out about the possibility of a replacement. But there were no alternatives. There was only one refund option.
And we were forced to stay in this hell.
An engineer came who never fixed the broken lock. After all, the door closes somehow, be patient, he said.
For two days it was wildly cold all over the room, we slept in our clothes, there was no heating. The plumbing is old and broken. The shower switch turned out to be in my hands the first time I used it.
A puddle of water was found on the floor by the bed, it turned out that the battery was leaking. They used a trash can to avoid flooding the lower neighbors.
A TV and a mini bar are a special joy. And the wiring is clearly carried out according to the latest European standards.
But there is a corner of comfort. It's an old office desk with four glasses on napkins.
The only thing I can note is the cleanliness of the linen, but not the towels. They are all from different sets and with very severe wear.
I didn't prove anything to the hotel staff. I think it's useless. But I will leave my review here specifically for future travelers.
The hotel administration offers you accommodation in advance in conditions that do not meet any standards.
Thus deceiving the buyer.
Be very careful when choosing this location.

I recently had to stay at this hotel. The appearance was impressive. Location too. At the reception, the administrator immediately began to tell us that the rooms were only "lux" in the Belarusian style. But we had to spend the night and the girl found us a room for 90 rubles (bel). The room had two beds from a Soviet pioneer camp, a computer-like table, a TV, a tiny refrigerator and a chair. There was some black hair in the shower tray in the bathroom. There is a separate story about towels in general. Torn, washed. The beds were not made. Blankets are separate from duvet covers. Well, why should we, the guests of this city, be so disrespected for such money? We didn't even ask about breakfasts or dinners. The kettle was given out at the reception, they probably haven't heard about the hair dryer there. Two glasses were in the room. You can't do that to guests. It is necessary to change somehow, to equip the rooms!
