The elevator makes a menacing screech, but it works properly, there is a water cooler on the floor and a room with an iron, which was important on a business trip. There is a restaurant, I did not go. In the morning, I wanted coffee early, a vending machine 200 m away, behind the parking lot, at the mysterious undulating meganaves, which turned out to be a skating rink. There is also a small hotel nearby, I hope, they say better, I haven't been there myself.

The first city we visited when we arrived in Belarus was Gomel. The Tourist Hotel is located on the central street, which is why we chose it. I must say right away that we didn't book the room in advance, so we didn't know what was waiting for us. However, we were greeted very kindly at the reception and offered several options. We chose the standard room: TV, refrigerator, bathroom, towels, etc. Everything is clean, the room is warm, the Windows overlook the courtyard. There is a restaurant on the ground floor - the prices are adequate. In general, we were satisfied.

It needs repair, the doors are damp, they lock with a key with great difficulty, the drain in the bathroom is clogged, the water does not go well. The room has a refrigerator, a transistor TV in working condition. There was not enough brighter light and a hair dryer. But a hairdryer, as well as a kettle, can be requested at the reception desk. On April 30th, in the evening, when we checked into the Tourist, it was cold and uncomfortable in the room, although at the same air temperature in Minsk, the window was open all day and the room was warm. The towels were a long-forgotten grayish shade, the only foot towel was in the shower tray, where there was water, of course it was completely wet, there were stains on the blanket, of unknown origin, similar to blood. I wanted to keep warm in a cold room, but I couldn't find a cooler.
The food is fine. The breakfast is continental, the drinks are only tea without a choice, lunch is quite decent.
On the morning of May 1, the administrator forgot the smile and kindness at home, which is unusual for Belarus.
In general, you can spend the night and eat at the "Tourist", but you would not like more...

Reception is not very stable, room keys are piled up on the counter and if you check in and other guests come and go, then check-in to the room is delayed indefinitely. The room is bright, and you can see that it has been recently renovated, but instead of bedside tables, some kind of plaques are inconvenient. The bed is wide. The hotel has an elevator and a beautiful front entrance, the reception staff is not courteous, but the maids work well. A beautiful corridor and halls. There are no microwaves on the floors. The location is convenient, there is an ice rink in 15 minutes on foot, catering for every taste. Transport is a 4-minute walk away.

Soviet rooms, dirty rooms, linen is all stained, a torn duvet cover, batteries in the remote control do not work, few sockets, no hangers in the closet, water flows out from under the hole under the bathroom when you wash, the coil is cold - towels with which you collected water from the floor after washing, you will not dry, cafe at 10 o'clock it was no longer working, although the opening hours indicated until 12, the waiters stopped, made coffee for 10 minutes, and when we wanted to cancel the order, they said that they had lost the receipt. This is only a small part that can be seen with the naked eye. I can't imagine how many interesting things you can dig up if you dig deeper.
The hotel positions itself as a 3-star hotel, but I would put one, which I do.
