We stayed in transit for 1 night.
The opinion is ambiguous.
The room itself is clean, but the towels have holes.
The room is pleasant, bright, fresh, but there are wires and pipes hanging everywhere + a view from the window to some part of the household.
We paid extra for an extra bed. They arrived quickly, but with a dirty pillow and a sheet. It was good to have my own bed linen, because there is no elevator in the hotel. The steps are very steep. At 11 p.m., I no longer had the strength to walk and prove something. This cot creaked terribly, the whole family woke up from every movement of the child.
I was pleased with the WiFi, but also intermittently. I'm fishing here, I'm not fishing here.
Hot water through a water heater, the latter was washed in invigorating water.
Parking is fenced right outside the hotel.
In general, I wish the guys to pay a little more attention to the service. We would have stopped for a long time: rather no than yes.

The room was beautiful and cozy, all made of wood. Near the river, mountain view. Clean, linen and towels are fresh, cleaning was done every day.a beautiful courtyard. The location is good, we walked to all the sights.

Beautiful, well-maintained territory, excellent location, near a waterfall, walking places, lively, within walking distance of attractions, mountain, hiking trails. It's not far from the sea. There is a beautiful park nearby. There are a lot of romantic bridges in the park, a lot of lighting. Ostriches, swans, geese, peacocks. You can go boating on a small lake.
There are also trampolines and activities for children in the park.
The rooms are clean, but no longer new, the furniture is falling apart in places. Towels and bed linen are changed regularly, rooms are cleaned daily, the staff tries despite the heavy workload of the hotel.

Convenient location, close to the main attractions of New Athos and that's probably all that's positive.
Minuses:
Audibility, it feels like you live with all the neighbors in the same room.
The stairs are very steep.
Soap and shampoo were given one piece at check-in, although the room is double. And they never put it down again.
The bathroom is very small, the shower cabin is tiny.
There is no kettle or mugs in the room.
The water is only on the ground floor.
We lived on the 2nd floor and something was buzzing in our room very strongly until 00:00, most likely the hood of the restaurant on the ground floor.
The restaurant is expensive and not tasty. It is better to eat nearby in a cafe.
We are usually not picky about accommodation and are looking for a positive holiday. But this time the hotel couldn't help but leave a review.

Among the advantages: the location in the center of New Athos, the river on the territory of the hotel, in the morning, in silence, you can enjoy its flow. Beautiful territory.
Otherwise: terrible!!!!! If I hadn't made the payment before I arrived, I wouldn't have stayed for anything. The rooms are very tired, there is mold in the bathroom, the shower is broken, washing with one door is such a thing... There is no kettle in the room. The entire hotel (4 floors with an inconvenient staircase) has a thermopot at the bottom of the street. Cardboard walls, zero noise insulation!!! But all these shortcomings were simply surpassed by swarms of ants!!! They are everywhere: in the closet with clothes, on the table, on the shelves!!! You can not leave any of the products except in the refrigerator. The room is not cheap, I regretted the choice I made.

The hotel is made of wood, it looks beautiful, there are relaxation areas on the roof and a partial roof, in case of rain. The hotel has its own restaurant, delicious cuisine. Prices for some dishes are slightly higher than in neighboring cafes. For example, breakfast dishes are about the same as everywhere else in terms of cost, but much tastier.
If your windows do not face the river, be prepared to listen to garbage trucks with a signal and the clink of bottles. The windows overlook the parking lot.
The wifi is bad, sometimes it doesn't work at all. The room had a router, and we were lucky in this regard.
Sometimes the lights were turned off.
As for audibility, it's tough. A neighbor knocked on our wall in the evening, just for talking. And in the morning, her TV was blaring, as if it was on in our room for the deaf.
The rooms have balconies.
There is a playground outside.
In the lobby there is information on the schedule of minibuses, car rental. A cooler with water.
The sea is 850 meters away. It's good to take a walk. The road from the hotel is not very good, if you want to take a scooter, do not take it.

The hotel is located in a good location, a mountain river flows through the territory. Outwardly, everything is beautiful. But! The hotel building itself is made of laminated timber, which affects the insulation not for the better. A very sharp central staircase between the floors. The room is quite clean. The furniture is not worn. There are problems in small things: the balcony door is sagging - it cannot be opened without effort, a tight faucet in the sink, the shower head pours in different directions, one pillowcase was stained. The biggest problem of our room was the air conditioner, which rattled like a tractor. Opening the balcony door did not help, because the neighbor's air conditioner could be heard. The restaurant at the hotel is not bad: clean, fast and polite service, the food is normal (we went around the neighboring cafes and decided to eat at the hotel).
The sea is 7-10 minutes by walking distance. The beach is clean, there are few people, there are changing cabins and showers.

There is a refrigerator in the room, some dishes, but no cutlery. There is its own Parking, Wi-Fi, restaurant. Cleaning every day. The only thing you can hear is what the neighbors are doing.

Passing by, I noticed live music, an aged man sang very well and played guitar to music. So the next day I decided to go in and find out if there would be live music today and if it was possible to sit in a cafe with them and on what conditions (order something, etc.) after going through all the cafes, I did not meet either the waiter or the administrator. The door to the kitchen was open, I looked in there and asked about live music, the girls began to answer politely, but a man came out from somewhere and said to get out of the kitchen (that's right, outsiders don't belong there), the receptionist immediately flew up and started yelling, why did you get into the kitchen, I told her that you There was no one I had to ask. She continued to yell pushing me out of the cafe. Terrible attitude to visitors, only the music is good.

A normal hotel for that kind of money.
I had a rest in March of this year. The Windows overlooked the courtyard, the noise did not interfere. Great location. The main advantage of the hotel is the generator, the lights were turned off very often, the generator turned on within 5 minutes. Not all hotels have such a thing. Laundry service, for 300 rubles. dirty clothes were washed. I was there for 5 nights, I didn't mess in the room, cleaning was not required, I took out the garbage myself, I'm 50+ and I'm able to clean up after myself. I lived on the 4th floor, but the stairs are steep, it's charging and free fitness))
A budget hotel. I'll stop here next time. And the cons can be found in the presidential suite.

The hotel is good, for your money, it was a little cramped in the room, but everything is known in comparison, I mean "all inclusive".But the wifi worked fine, the restaurant is expensive, but there are nearby places where chebureks are cheap and khachapuri are more expensive, we all come here for rest and with money, so who knows how.Nature is just fire, all the sights are nearby, the sea is cold, for me personally, but the children were swimming, non-stop, the fruits are very tasty, it was July 29th.You will not please everyone, but if next time you will have a vacation in Abkhazia, then I will only go to Griffin, I have heard other reviews about hotels.

Natalia Alexandrovna is a good doctor, not a bribe taker, everything is within the framework of insurance assistance, the nurses are also good, but the nurse, Aunt Alla (so she introduced herself), in an ordered tone demanded to pay her off. I think it's not necessary to be fooled by this. The rest of the staff showed themselves on the positive side.
The Griffin restaurant works for your relatives and friends, if you come to them, the service will be lazy, as if you are superfluous.
Please, the owner of this establishment, pay attention to this. We rested in many places, in different countries, there was no such attitude. We were ridiculed by the waitresses, it was very unpleasant. And you won't wait for them to order. This is not the first review about them, sorry.
Abkhazia is good, but the Abkhazians are not ready to receive guests.
Be prepared that there are only 2 on the beach!!! toilet, everyone goes to the sea!

One of the advantages is a convenient location, large Windows, a good restaurant. One of the disadvantages is dirty rooms. We had a rest at the end of August 2023, the room is a double standard. I was shocked by the condition of the shower stall. It was disgusting to wash there. It's all dirty, mildewed, stained with some kind of stains. My God, why could such a fairly new hotel be so fucked up?!! I really wanted to buy a rag and a domestos and clean everything thoroughly. The baseboards are clogged with dirt, the walls are stained, small ants crawl on the floor. The room was cleaned daily, but it all came down to a light sweeping of debris from the floor. Sand and dirt had been lying in the corners since who knows when. We also got an ashtray with cigarette butts on the balcony from previous tenants. If you change the staff responsible for cleaning the rooms and do high-quality cleaning of the entire hotel, you can even give a rating of 5.

From the balcony you can see the waterfall and even the monastery. Of the cons: the audibility is unbearable between rooms (we woke up every morning at 7 a.m. from the conversations of our neighbors (who slept how and how many hours of healthy sleep they had)))))) on the third day, the roof was already blowing off from lack of sleep))))) the room was very poorly cleaned, or rather practically not cleaned, the garbage was taken out only if you asked. In general, any request was fulfilled only after the second or third reminder. Next, it is a very steep wooden staircase, very dangerous for children. In general, it's up to you to go there or not. If the quality of the hotel's service and the quality of cleaning were improved, it would be a huge plus for this hotel. As for sound insulation, I think it's forever, because it's very expensive.

One of the best hotels in New Athos. In the immediate vicinity there is a waterfall, the temple and grotto of Simon the Canonite, a nature reserve, an abandoned station and a souvenir market. The sea is 10 minutes away along a picturesque alley. Very beautiful territory with a river, delicious food in the restaurant, there is an outdoor veranda. There is a rooftop terrace for yoga, sunbathing and just having a good time. The view is just beautiful. Everything in the rooms is clean and new. I lived on the 4th floor, it was very cozy to wake up to the cooing of pigeons on the roof. The only disadvantage is high audibility, but it didn't bother me because in such a place everyone is relaxed, peaceful, and not very noisy)

A great modern hotel. Only positive impressions. I rested for 8 nights in October 2022, room 313 (floor 4). Check-in is fast, the key is given out after 14-00. Until then, you can leave your things at the reception and go for a walk / eat. The administrator also always helps with any question regarding recreation, places around and other things.
The standard room with a view of the river is spacious and comfortable. There is always fresh air in the room thanks to the wooden construction of the hotel itself. The beds are comfortable, the blankets are warm, the bed linen is changed, towels are also provided (2-3 pcs per person).
The plumbing is all in good order, hot water 24/7, the pressure is excellent. There is no heated towel rail in the bathroom (for whom it is important).Overall, the room is very pleasant, all so bright.
The view of the river is simply gorgeous!!! The balcony is large, also super) The balcony has furniture (two chairs or two stools) and a clothes dryer.
The stairs between the floors are steep. But there is a railing.
There is an open roof on the top floor of the hotel. A wonderful place from where you can look at the starry sky in the evenings!
There is furniture (sofas, armchairs, chairs, tables) on the roof, there are also canopies on the sides in case of rain.
The audibility in the rooms is very strong. For those who are light sleepers, earplugs are to help (I used them).
The room also has a refrigerator with a small freezer, a decanter, a glass and a mug.
Upon arrival, they give out bathroom things (2 soaps, shampoos, shower gels).
There is air conditioning and a heating shade above the bed (it warms perfectly).
The location of the hotel is simply amazing!
There is a waterfall nearby, 5-7 minutes walk to the sea along the alley and then along the Seaside Park. The walk is pleasant)
You can have breakfast at the hotel in the restaurant or outside the hotel. All catering facilities are within walking distance. Personally, I often had breakfast in the dining room of Apsna (on the way to the monastery closer to the sea) and had lunch in the apatskha Abkhazian courtyard.
Cash can always be withdrawn at an ATM near the Cave from the card of any bank of the Russian Federation. The commission is 100 rubles per transaction, regardless of the withdrawal amount (the administrator suggested it).

The problem has not disappeared!!!! The ants were there until the end of our paid 6 days.
We regretted that we booked and paid for this hotel in advance for a long time.
Then we moved to the hotel opposite, there is heaven and earth compared to the Griffin. In another hotel there are no ants, no audibility, no steep stairs, and the attitude of the staff is sincere and friendly.
Griffin's waitresses, smoking under the balconies of residents and discussing the guests and visitors of the restaurant, ... probably do not know that everyone can hear them well))) or they just don't care about anything. The main thing is a smoke break!!! Women of Abkhazia!!!
The Griffin Hotel is definitely not worth the requested money. 6000 per day!! And it's not in season! What are "winter prices" - this hotel does not know!
You are considering other options even in the nearest hotels, within a radius of 100-200 meters from the Griffin. If geolocation is important near a waterfall, a monastery, caves, a park and the sea.
The griffin needs to be closed for disinfection and renovation, to buy bed linen, towels, dishes in the rooms, add hooks and hangers for towels in the bathroom and for outerwear in the hallway. There is nothing to do with the stairs and audibility.... And the above is unlikely to do)
