Disgusting room cleaning, damp towels and sheets that had to be changed by ourselves, sooooo small shower (even for a 7-year-old child it's hard to wash in it), a tiny sink, there are no mirrors in the rooms (only a small one in the toilet), audibility is just a drip, dirty glasses and a decanter. Ugh, it's simple. We had a rest in August. Of the advantages, only the convenient location, but the sea is 12-15 minutes away

Great hotel!!! It is built of laminated timber, all amenities in the room. All the sights are within walking distance- the New Athos caves (500 rubles), waterfalls, a lake, an abandoned station of the Psyrtskha, the cell of Simeon Kanonitta in the Psyrtskha gorge (200 rubles). The restaurant at the hotel is excellent - large portions and very tasty.

We were with the children. There are very high steps in the corridor, it is very uncomfortable for children, toddlers and the elderly. The territory wins due to the mountain river. It's a long way to the sea. The restaurant is good, the girls are friendly. The kitchen is delicious. The rooms are clean, but at six in the morning the lights were turned off for an hour every day. The hotel is straight 3 stars. The first thing that caught my eye was that there was no elevator to lift the suitcase. Well, this is a mini trouble, the most interesting thing was waiting in the room. There are a lot of ants, from the word straight anthill. There are ants on things, ants in bed, ants in the sink and on my words that you can do something with them. At least have a laugh))) but alas, they bought it themselves. The room is very dirty, someone else's hair is everywhere, small crumbs that I had to buy a rag myself to wash the floors in the room.
The glasses are all dirty, and so is the decanter.. I washed everything myself. I tried not to clean our room at all, so as not to clean it after them, there is no kettle at all, the cooler is on the ground floor, but for now you bring boiling water))) He's already cold. In general, the hotel has its own status and does not pull at all. People who arrive early in the morning are waiting for the admin to get to their room and it may take a lot of time. Hearing is so real that we heard the man snoring above us and how he lets in)))) Oh, it's not pleasant. The walls are straight cardboard and thin, if you like to listen to others, then you are here. I don't know why everyone writes that the hotel is straight atas, the best in Athos.. For me, this is nonsense, there are really good hotels in Athos, with a swimming pool and heating, but the griffin is not the best, it is straight from the middle to the middle class. There are hotels with the same price, but the garage is better. While we were resting, we found out about it and let those who write that this hotel is on fire not lie. Nonsense and lies. I will not go to them anymore, ants are not mine, the quality of service is zero. In general, it's up to you to decide, but my words are true. I do not attach photos, since there was no desire to take pictures of this hotel at all.

We visited Abkhazia for the first time. There are a lot of impressions! We went on excursions a lot, the places are charming. Great hotel, good location. Everything they write about sound insulation and that someone bumped his head against the shelf above the bed is utter nonsense, everything is in order, checked personally. He lived in a room on the 2nd floor with a view of the river and mountains. The music in the cafe, including live music - yes, it plays in the evenings - but at exactly 23:00 it stops. Music can be heard only from the open balcony. The view from the room is excellent, you can hear the sound of the river, a good balcony, you can't see or hear the neighbors, despite the fact that all the rooms were occupied. If you sleep with an open balcony, then you can not turn on the air conditioner - it is cool from the river at night and in the morning. No mosquitoes, no insects, as someone wrote in the reviews - not even close. The hotel has a restaurant with delicious food. There is also a roof deck from which you can view the area or just relax. It is a 7-10 minute walk to the sea, the beach is good - there is a canopy, sun loungers, umbrellas and 2 cafes. The only negative, and for some it may be a plus, is the steep staircase in the hotel, but it has a railing and you quickly get used to it. Otherwise, there are no disadvantages. Well, maybe the shower cabin will be a little cramped for someone, but if you don't be pork, then everything is OK! The hotel receptionist is kind and helpful. So naturally I recommend this hotel! Especially for such a price!

A beautiful hotel. Great location. There is an autonomous power supply (it is important when shutdowns are frequent and prolonged) Audibility ..... EVERYTHING can be heard from the next room. Drinking water is only on the 1st floor, it is almost impossible to wait for hot water from the cooler.

Good afternoon! 08/13/2022 visited the Griffin restaurant in New Athos, visited the restaurant before, there are no complaints about the cuisine. But, I would like to draw the attention of the management to the service and attitude of the waiter Angelina (name from her words) to the guests. When meeting guests, a dissatisfied expression on their face , ignoring questions , and if the answer is with great dislike. The mood was spoiled and despite all the positive impressions of this place, after such service, there is no desire to visit it next time. Although, we have been vacationing in Abkhazia for several years and always went to the Griffin with pleasure. I would also like to note the friendliness of the second waitress, unfortunately, we do not know the name.

We rested in a nearby hotel, from 19.00 to 23.00 it was impossible to stay in the room, every day the same music screamed from this hotel! The volume was so loud that we couldn't talk to each other without shouting. There's nothing to say about falling asleep to it. Not even earplugs saved.

A good hotel, clean linen, shower, toilet-everything is perfect. Great view from the Windows, if the Windows overlook the river. If the electricity was turned off, and this is a problem in Abkhazia, then the generator was quickly turned on. There are heaters in the rooms, it was even hot when it was +5 outside. We were in early March. The hotel has a restaurant, prices are the same everywhere. But keep in mind that smoking is not prohibited in restaurants in Abkhazia, so they smoked there in the evening.

The hotel is made of high-quality expensive materials, completely made of wood. The windows are also wooden with double-glazed windows, but it seems that this hotel does not have an owner. Doors and windows with sagging hinges are all askew. In our room 123, they apparently tried to repair the switch and the socket for the cable for the TV, left a hole in the wall, and a socket that did not fit on the shelf next to it. I fell out under the switch and didn't bother to putty it. The toilet is shared, very small, to brush your teeth you need to sit on the toilet or stand bent in an uncomfortable position over a tiny sink. The shower stall is all in the tribe. The water drain when draining the toilet and when taking a shower by other guests falls down with a crash and beats against something there. This is especially audible at night, when someone above visits the toilet, the drain occurs with the same sound as on an airplane.
The cleaning is mediocre, the linen was replaced on the 6th day and then only when we came face to face with the maid in the room and she asked us about it.
The maids are constantly talking on the phones in the corridors and swearing loudly, it becomes uncomfortable. They often heard how they swear. We didn't encounter Friendliness and soul somehow. And once we left the room and next to our door on the windowsill there is a key with the tag of our door and none of the staff, we had to leave for an excursion and took the key with us. By the way, the administrator was also not in place. In the evening, upon arrival, they gave the key to the administrator with a claim, to which they received an answer:- It happens that way... It's not a big deal. Naturally, the room was not even swept.
About the restaurant. We went there three times in 7 days, but they didn't feed us once. For the 1st time, there were a lot of people, there were no seats and no staff either, they left. The 2nd time we wanted to have breakfast, we came to the opening at 09:02, the door was closed, through the glass door we could see three female workers sitting at a table. We knocked, they all looked at us, looked at each other, laughed and continued their seats, and we left. The 3rd time we went to dinner there was a company of 7-9 people, the rest of the tables were free, we chose a table and began to place ourselves, as from behind the bar we were loudly approached only after half an hour, turned around and left. It's creepy. There was no such attitude anywhere in New Athos.
The view from the window and on the roof of the hotel is just wonderful.
We went on excursions from Biblio globus. I don't know how guides from local companies work, but it's just trash. They tell stories and legends about Abkhazia on the bus, all the same, but to the place where you are going, they say take a walk at about an hour. They won't tell you anything about this place. Well, we had the Internet, we entertained ourselves and searched for information.

The rooms are medium-sized, very poorly cleaned, for 15 days of stay, the sink was washed for the first time on day 13. Towels in the room with holes, the cleaner changes the linen, but does not even put a blanket in the duvet cover, I did it myself before! There was a cockroach running around in the toilet at night. The audibility in the hotel is generally cosmic, everything is audible, even as the neighbor's phone vibrates (alarm clock at 5 a.m.))). The balcony is not cleaned at all, it is impossible to go out there without slippers (there are no slippers in the room). I can't say anything about the food, since we were without power, by the way, the hotel does not provide a kettle in the room, it is very inconvenient to go down to the first floor in the morning for hot water

We stayed at the hotel from 08/27/2020-08/31/2020. The location of the hotel is good, the sea is 10 minutes away, and other attractions in New Athos can be reached on foot. The hotel itself is new, the room is relatively clean, if you do not find fault with the holes on the tulle, stains on the plumbing, dirty faucet :) there is also no hair dryer in the room, you can ask for it at the reception. They gave it to us, but no one warned us that after cleaning it would be taken back. The next day before the tour, it was unexpected, the reception said that there would be no hair dryer, as there was not enough for everyone. According to the food, we went once for breakfast, the food was tasteless (a choice of porridge or a piece of omelet) and coffee from a bag / tea. The waiters discuss the hotel's visitors while they are eating. The extension of the room costs 100 rubles per hour. The day before departure, they asked to extend the room for two hours so that they could go to change clothes and take a shower after the sea, they said at the reception that the room would be occupied, they did not have any other rooms. But it was more like they just didn't want to bother.
The plus of the hotel is that they sign up for excursions themselves, we took jipping to the lakes of Ritsa and Mzy + walking. Ekusrkusia is very beautiful, but calculate your strength, you will have to walk about 6 km one way and the same amount back.
Wi-Fi is working fine in the room, free of charge. There is a password on the respawn.
In general, the hotel is normal, I think it is a good option in Abkhazia, but the attitude of people leaves much to be desired.

A normal hotel. Of the minuses, well, only the lazy one didn't say about audibility, if you're going to spend stormy nights, you're not here)) There is no kettle and no full-length mirror. One small one is only on the face in the bathroom. The lights are turned off from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. No wf, no coffee to drink. But maybe not in the summer. The WF on the 2nd-3rd floor is dead, it works erratically. Works well in the restaurant and on the roof.
Of the advantages, there are more of them, excellent location, very close to all the main attractions, and a view of the river. (Where there is no river, it is sad there). The room is clean (well, let's not find fault with the little things)), towels were changed, linen was changed, cleaned every day. There is a hair dryer, an ordinary hotel one, which blows anywhere, but not where it should be))
The roof is just fine, and the view and the sun and complete relaxation.
The restaurant downstairs is very convenient. The food is average and the same check, but khachapuri is amazing!
In general, it is worthy! I did not regret my choice.

The audibility is absolute in all rooms of the Griffin + ants in the rooms. For their cost, there are better hotels in the same Athos. There is no food in the hotel, not in season. The New year is on 3, the program is not thought out, there are no contests, etc. For that kind of money, you can make a holiday for yourself anywhere on Mount Athos, all you need is a tape recorder and a cassette.
