we settled in with a group of guys, in many rooms there were animals in the form of bugs and ants....
the rooms didn't seem to be cleaned at all, there were wrappers and peels under the mattress. They don't wipe the dust there, other people's hair is in the bed, as well as these animals. The bed linen and towels are also correspondingly dirty🫤
I don't recommend living here at all😵

I want to leave a review about the Griffin restaurant, we visited it just to have dinner. We had a rest in New Athos in September 2023.
Our order consisted of grilled vegetables, from the look of which I immediately realized that it was impossible to eat, the photo is attached, accordingly, I refused this dish because it looked and tasted like nothing at all. They also ordered a rustic frying pan, just about nothing, a fat piece of beef and a couple of potatoes, and even a boat with an egg was not very good, it tasted better in street canteens! I'm not talking about the service and tea🙈 Herbal tea was brewed without the usual strainer in the kettle🙄in general, I was shocked, I haven't seen this in any country yet, but I've been traveling for a long time and a lot!!!
And so my advice to you all is to avoid this place👌

I was in the restaurant at this Griffin hotel. It is tacitly considered the best catering of New Athos. But I probably disagree. The meat in the salad and in the chop is dry and tough. But the khachapuri Boat with egg is just gorgeous. Check the bill more carefully, the price on the menu and in the receipt may not match.

We had a rest in June 2023, a standard room with 2 beds. Of the advantages: the condition of the hotel, wooden floors that you want to walk barefoot on, panoramic Windows, always hot water, working air conditioning, 2 ironing boards on the floor, excellent territory, there is a place to sit with music in the evening, hot drinking water, fenced Parking in the backyard. Of the minuses: super audibility of the neighbors (we were well-mannered, lucky), torn bed linen in places, thin curtains on the windows and the non-closing door of the shower cabin. No one responded to the request to repair, and the bathroom floor was flooded. Easy cleaning daily, towels were changed 2 times in 9 days, linen 1 time. The steep stairs and the mirror in the hallway (in the room just to wash) survived normally. The staff greets, but nothing more. We would consider this hotel again - I think so, in general, it is pleasant to relax in it.

The place is just amazing, for the money. It is clean, cozy, there is a children's area, a restaurant, a recreation area on the roof.
One of the disadvantages is there is no elevator. I was seven months pregnant, so it was a challenge for me (we lived on the top floor). But the impression is still extremely positive.

We were at the Griffin hotel from 02.07 to 10.07 comfort room. I gave 4 stars only because of the location, the beautiful view from the balcony. The rooms are shabby, smoky (curtains may need to be washed). The shower cabin is old, the water did not drain well. Cleaning?In fact, garbage was swept away in the corners. The towel was never changed in 8 days, the bed linen was changed by themselves, it was put on a chair. because they returned late from the tour and there was no one to tell. We had a rest from September 06 to September 17, we were really looking forward to this holiday, but it disappointed us.We arrived there very early , a sleepy administrator met us at the reception , answered the question about checking in early rudely that there were no rooms , sit and wait .And we waited until 14.00 on the street in the heat .We were moved into a room on the second floor, where there was a restaurant under us , music was playing from 19.00 to 23.00, they didn't even take into account our age, they never asked how it was possible to be in the room at that time, the TV was inaudible, even we had to talk to each other at a raised tone.The room was not bad, considering that they had not even washed and defrosted the refrigerator, one bed was broken, the bed linen was torn, a bathroom with a very small shower cabin and almost a toy sink, my husband was a big man and the cabin could hardly fit.What I liked about this hotel is the territory, and a very beautiful location of the hotel. All the food that is not intended for the refrigerator to be thrown away, as the hotel is filled with small brown ants. The bed is uncomfortable, lying on the wooden floor is even more pleasant. There is no kettle and mugs in the room, the restaurant very reluctantly allowed to take out a mug of tea in the room. The shower is full of trash, the water does not go away.

A comfortable hotel in the very center of Mount Athos. The panoramic windows offer one of the best views of the town - a waterfall, a river, mountains and a monastery. All significant objects are within easy reach. The staff is pleasant and polite. We liked it here, we will be happy to stop again. However, it is worth considering a few points that may bother someone - the hotel is completely wooden, the audibility in the rooms is fantastic, very steep stairs, there is not always hot water in the boilers.

So, if you look at the camera at the reception, on the day when we checked in, I had a ring on the ring finger of my left hand-my mother's gift, and on the right hand on one finger and an engagement ring and my husband has an engagement ring on his right hand and on the same camera you can check that no one from the room I never could stand it. It was immediately said that only one maid came to our room, then it turned out that there was not one, the toilet was clogged, we asked to call a plumber, but we did not understand whether he came or not, the point is that no one even began to understand. My husband and I were settled in room 223, double. Red ants are everywhere, old sagging mattresses with holes, instead of one bed there are two with broken bases, torn underwear, a hole in the ceiling, a small TV splattered with white paint, apparently during the painting of the walls. There is a stool on the balcony instead of a table. A tiny bathroom with mold and no hood, someone in the next room was smoking in the toilet, it stank so much that it hurt my eyes. The sink can only be used while sitting on the toilet. It is impossible to wash properly in the shower stall, it is very cramped, then ice water or boiling water pours out of the shower. The air conditioner works with such a roar that it's easier not to turn it on. There is no sound insulation, you can hear the phone ringing vibro in the next room. On the ground floor there is a restaurant, music until 23-00 daily, plus you can hear all the musical cacophony from the neighboring cafes. I do not recommend this hotel and will never stay there again. We bought into the photos of the hotel, but behind the beautiful territory and facade there are hellish rooms that, to put it mildly, do not pull from the word at all for 3 stars.

The Griffon Hotel is located in a very advantageous location in the city of New Athos. You can say in the center of the town. All attractions are within walking distance. But most of all I liked that on the roof of the building there is a recreation area with upholstered furniture, which offers a stunning view of the mountains and the stars.
