Interesting place. During the Soviet era it was a gorgeous hotel probably, but now it looks really outdated. Old rooms, doors, halls. However, the location itself isn't bad. Almaty is known for not quite good quality of air but this part of the city is good and close to Medeo and Chimbulak ski resort.

Excellent hotel, very welcoming, we had a wonderful stay. Staff is highly efficient and proactive. The room was good and comfortable, moreover, the housekeeping staff was also efficient. The buffet breakfast had various options and was very good.

A magical hotel. You can definitely relax here and enjoy the whole miracle. The rooms are clean, spacious, and they are often cleaned. The location is quite convenient. Fantastic breakfast buffet. Only and only 5 stars

The landmark of the city of Almaty.During the construction of this hotel, seismic tests with a magnitude of 9 on the Richter scale were carried out, and all engineers were in this building during the test. Very convenient location of the hotel. The rooms are cozy, comfortable, and clean. The room has a view of the whole city and, most importantly, a view of these majestic mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau.bigtrip.kz-individual tours on comfortable SUVs.
Charyn Canyon, Kolsai Lake, Kaindy Lake. There are several restaurants in the hotel, and there are night clubs near the hotel.

A good hotel, excellent breakfasts, friendly and courteous staff. There is an exchange office at the reception. Parking is not big. Unfortunately, the housing stock is old, the mattresses are bad (it's important for me, I slept badly), I note they are cleaned well, and the bed is clean. I also got to some kind of Indian race, 70% of the guests. Lived high up, good view. Since the hotel is from Soviet times, this was to be expected. Everything else is fine.

The breakfasts are excellent. Very convenient location. Great views of the city.

Underfloor heating in the bathroom and in the shower itself, fresh renovation, pleasant interior, high-pile carpet in the rooms - nice to the feet, everything is clean
Relative to other hotels, there is a lot of light, additional illumination is a floating ceiling.
Water in liter bottles, tea, coffee, sugar, shower gels, etc. - replenished daily
Two-room junior suites (perhaps not all) have tiny windows, but this is obvious in the pictures when choosing a room)
Of the inconveniences, the mirror is only in the bathroom.
The breakfast buffet is such a choice that you can't taste everything in three days.
There are many cafes, restaurants, and coffee shops to the right and left of the hotel

The hotel is big. The location is excellent. It wasn't until I was checked into my room that I saw and heard the night bar from the window. It's good that I arrived at night and found out right away. She asked for a higher room and went to the other side. Given. Only it was so cold there, the wind was blowing from the window, it was in the month of July. What's going on in winter?! And the shower wasn't working yet, or rather there was no hot water. I asked for another number again. Moreover, it took a very long time to wait in both cases. As a result, I checked into the third room 2 hours after I arrived. In general, if there were no such adventures, you could say that everything is fine on 4. The breakfasts are excellent, by the way. The staff is polite, but the change of rooms is very unhurried. 🙃

The hotel is good. Some floors are currently undergoing renovation. Of the advantages - a good breakfast, a large assortment, everything is fresh; the hotel has many floors, we lived on 23m-the view of the city and the mountains is awesome. One of the disadvantages is that the elevators take a long time to go up and down when the hotel is densely populated, this is a problem; some rooms are slightly "tired", but everything is clean and cozy. The location is great, it is convenient to move around the city. There is a lift near Koktebel, a large shopping center (Dostyk Plaza) is 20 minutes away at a relaxed pace. There are several good restaurants nearby, two Starjacks in the range of 5 minutes.
The conclusion is that we had a great time here.

I am constantly traveling both in Russia and around the world - and for the first time in many years, I have such a negative impression of the hotel.:
1. Air conditioning in the room [Queen Suite or Junior Suite] It doesn'T work, but the windows face the sunny side, and it's hot right from early morning.
2. It is impossible to open the windows: terrible noise from the external units of the air conditioners.
3. I booked and paid for an early check-in from 6 a.m. - and now it's almost 3 p.m., and since 6 a.m. I've been shuttling between a terrible room where it's impossible to relax and a reception desk asking for a room change.
4. Someone is drilling behind the wall: apparently, repairs are underway.
5. The coffee machine in the room is NOT working - I told about it at the reception, they smiled happily at me and replied - but we know!
All other disadvantages can be overcome, but after 2 flights and a sleepless night, check into such a prehistoric landmark and instead of a long-awaited vacation, get this all... I'm just hysterical.

Great hotel.
The staff is polite.
I left early in the morning and was given a lunch box with me to the airport without any problems.
The breakfasts are great, I didn't think that for such relatively little money I could get such a high service.
The location is great.
There is a metro station, a cable car and many interesting sights in a couple of minutes.
I'm lowering my score only because of an outdated number.
But the view from the window was worth it.
I will recommend the hotel to my friends and acquaintances.

One of the main attractions of our city. Decorations of our city. Our beauty. You don't have to go inside. Just stand by. Take photos. These photos will stay with you for the rest of your life. Unless, of course, you print them out and hang them on the wall. The hotel is basically inexpensive, but you need to take into account the Soviet dimensions. There shouldn't be much room for a Soviet tourist. But for the sake of the view from the window and the location, it's probably worth putting up with such a detail as a small room. There are many different entertainment venues in the hotel building itself. If I'm not mistaken, there are about seven of them. Everyone will find something to their liking, from inexpensive to expensive establishments. In general, it's like coming to Paris and seeing the Eiffel Tower– it's the same from the Kazakhstan Hotel in Almaty.

Soviet Chic. The room seemed small to me, the breakfast was excellent, served on the second floor, you can go out on the terrace, a wonderful buffet for any request.

The Kazakhstan Hotel is a very beautiful building, it is an architectural monument of 1974, 26-storey. Convenient location in the center of Almaty, near the hotel there is a funicular to Kok-Tobe mountain, parks, central square. Everything is within walking distance.
The rooms are cozy, beautiful views from the Windows. Lots of elevators, beautiful inside and out.
Breakfasts at the hotel are distinguished by a variety of dishes for every taste.
The hotel staff is very polite and professionally trained. The room is cleaned daily.
I recommend this hotel to everyone, you will not regret it.

I didn't stay at the hotel itself. But as a landmark, of course, it is an iconic building for the city. You'll find him in 90% of the paintings by local artists that don't feature mountains. It is definitely a must for all lovers of Soviet modernism to visit
