The rooms are somewhat strange (in terms of layout) - at least we got a corner room by the fire escape, the layout and layout of it leaves questions (?), also, somewhat tired furniture / furnishings. Perhaps it was us who got such a strange one (?). I don't know.
However, as for the service, in pm the breakfasts are BEYOND PRAISE!!!
We did not even expect!
On the day of departure, we decided to have coffee in the villa restaurant on the 26th floor ... We were extremely surprised that at 12-30 it did not work even in cafe mode....

The rooms are renovated, but there are no hooks, there is nowhere to hang towels, the hot floor in the bathtub is on, it's +40 outside, and the floor is not just warm, but hot, you have to put towels on it. It is very problematic to have breakfast, a huge number of people and not enough places, you have to stand waiting.

The monstrous experience of staying at the hotel "Kazakhstan". I flew to Almaty on a business trip for 3 days, the early flight from Moscow was at 8:45 a.m. My meetings started at 12:00. I planned to take a shower at the hotel and lie down for a while. But as soon as I entered the room, it began to shake from the sounds of drills and hammers. I was given a room on the 9th floor, and on the 8th floor there is a major renovation. Naturally, the hotel administration does not warn you about this either when booking or with a star. I asked to change the room, they said that there are no available rooms in my category, they will be able to do this only after 17:00. The new room was on the 15th floor. Tiny, stupidly oriented (if there is a suitcase on the bedside table at the entrance, then you can hardly open the door). The jamb was falling off at the front door, and the shower in the bathroom was either cold or boiling water. The heated floors warmed so much that even in slippers and on a towel it burned my feet. Very poor sound insulation (the hotel is located on the avenue, you can only sleep in earplugs). But the worst thing is that the next morning they started drilling under this number. At the same time, when my travel agent contacted the hotel, he said that I was lying and nothing was heard there. And on the non-smoking floor there is a monstrous smell of cigarettes (apparently, workers smoke).
The elevators are old and you can wait for them for 10 minutes. The iron was carried for about an hour at my request. Nobody cares about anything in the hotel. There are plastic bottles on the tables in the lobby, no one has even removed them.
The breakfast is decent, but there are queues at the stations with hot food, as there are a lot of groups from India.
I ran away from this hotel and I don't want to come back here for anything.

В самой гостинице и вокруг очень много ресторанов, баров на любой вкус. Рядом метро и канатная дорога. Завтрак шведский стол, еда на любой вкус.

Номера компактные, без лишней роскоши, с времён СССР не изменились, чистые, смена белья проводится регулярно, правда зубную пасту предлагают очень в малых тубусах, хватает почистить только одну челюсть, а у меня их 2, верхняя и нижняя... оконные рамы давно требуют замены, на современные, плохо открываются, также и закрываются... подоконник не закреплён, хотел сделать селфи из номера( вид шикарный), понял что эта конструкция может развалиться, и отказался от этой идеи...Еда- завтрак включён в счёт, вкусная, с национальным уклоном, много вкусняшек( выпечка), а вот Фрукты- есть не возможно, яблоки , сливы и Тому подобные недозрелые, твёрдые ...не берите. Омлет делают хороший, глазунью- не умеют, пережаривают и крутят ( переворачивают) как
Блинчики.

Отдыхали с 7 по 13 апреля. Хорошая, добротная гостиница. Не считая небольших недочётов (на 25 этаже горячую воду не отрегулировать), всё остальное понравилось. Приветливый, профессиональный персонал; удобное расположение; а какой вид из окна!! Вкусные, полноценные завтраки. Думаю, в последующие посещения города, будем останавливаться здесь.👍

They moved us the next day. Well, no problem, because people move out every day in groups.
The rooms on the 19th floor are not so shabby
But! In the second room, where there is 1 bed and a sofa, the window did not close at all. There is a gap of 5 cm. And in our room it blows from the window, the gap is about 5 mm.
I thought to close the door to the room, but it was not there, the door is there, but it cannot be closed. There's just no lock.
The bathroom is the same in appearance as on the 21st. But at least the shower is fixed thoroughly and nothing is hanging out.
Photos on the website or booking are expectation / reality. Don't believe what they show.
The breakfasts are varied, there is a lot to choose from. Everything is OK here, there are no complaints.
Elevators - we even managed to get stuck in the elevator when we were going to breakfast....
And after breakfast, when we got to the room, the lights went out everywhere in the rooms.
But the rooms, there is no desire to stay voluntarily again in this hotel.
The hotel is being renovated. Near our room, the window was covered with a film and on the floor (apparently above or below) repairs are underway from 8 to 18.

I was there in 2023 on November 23-26. Very respectful and kind staff, asked for a needle to sew clothes, so they gave 3 sets. The most advantageous location in the whole city, the view is so beautiful that it seems that this is a fairy tale , not reality . The rooms themselves are very decent , cleaning is carried out every day, the hotel on the 2nd floor has its own restaurant with various food.
In general, we were very satisfied.

The rooms are clean and tidy. Plumbing is a bit tight. Cleaned every day.
An early arrival still needs to be clearly booked in advance and agreed upon with the hotel. We were given the opportunity to check in from 8 in the morning, for which a special thanks to the staff after a hard night flight. But they couldn't bring an extra bed for 4 days, apparently it was waiting for us in another room;))
In general, we were satisfied with the hotel.

Two of them have allocated gender staff. There are signs about this, but they are so small that people accustomed to ordinary hotels do not see them. And they are very surprised that the staff with carts and tools goes with them in the elevator cabin.... Separate the threads physically! Next, there is no iron in the room... Only on request. Well, the most important thing is the Internet .... There is a separate room where you can work with documents, there is a printer, a scanner. But why should I organize employees to connect the scanner and configure it. I was told that it does not work. It works, but you need to monitor the equipment. The Internet is very weak, the connection was constantly lost, I had to distribute the Internet from my personal phone. I don't know, maybe it's just me who's so lucky.
The breakfasts are good, the variety of dishes is sufficient. The staff is trained, but no more. If in excellent hotels the staff tries to be inconspicuous, but is always there and ready to help, then this is not the case. Here the staff is in plain sight and you have to contact and encourage the representatives of the hotel to help.
I have long dreamed of getting to the hotel Kazakhstan, since childhood, I got there. Will I stop again? Probably not, but, except to check whether there have been changes for the better.
Oh, I forgot... At the entrance... There is a turntable, - doors, as in expensive hotels... Wonderful! But right there, the next doorway without a window (door), through which a good half of the visitors pass.. . Yes, and the guards at the entrance, where is the frame... A frame for visibility, a guard too.... These are attributes (visibility) but not a function...

Quite a modern hotel. The number of rooms is being slowly updated. Unfortunately, I got a room with a good view, but previously a cat apparently lived there, because there was a persistent smell of his presence in the room. Breakfast in the morning (buffet) is absolutely the same as in European hotels. There is its own Parking, but there are very few places on it, although the administration is doing its best to park the client in any available place. The room is cleaned daily, but there is some irresponsibility of the staff, for example, one of the days after cleaning, the room door was left open. The cost of accommodation was approximately 10 thousand tenge per day plus a tourist fee. In general, it is quite a modern hotel with a large number of rooms, beautiful views from the window from the upper floors and a convenient location.

During commissioning, the stability of the structure was checked with special units. And allegedly at the official opening there was a real earthquake, although not strong in points, but pretty scared the guests.

The room is a standard double room, with a window opening onto Dostyk Avenue. The weather was cool, and the (large) window was draining. In the bathroom, the shower barely hung on the holder. Cleaning was carried out whenever the cleaners themselves wanted. They hung a sign asking to be removed, returned two or three hours later - the room was not cleaned. I didn't like the organization of breakfast and the breakfast itself. We came a couple of times by 10.30 (breakfast until 11.00). There was no rice porridge (running) anymore and no one was going to report it. Delicious cheese was eaten, not tasty remained. The situation is the same for some other species. I came over to order an omelet. There are some tomato and some other vegetable additives left. There was no bacon, cheese, or anything else. That's how the omelet was made from what it was... Somewhere at 10.55, the staff actively begins to clean everything urgently with a bang and noise (banging cupboard doors, rattling dishes, cutlery is thrown into drawers ...), that it is not possible to hear all this and I would rather leave this second floor faster. To be honest, we didn't manage to have a delicious breakfast (although there seems to be a lot of things). I went out a couple of times in six days, I didn't do it anymore. A separate topic is the musicians in front of the hotel. around midnight for two days in a row, cheerful guitarists came and from the entrance to the hotel on the right, they began to sing different songs. Their loud singing was answered by "well-rested" "cheerful" visitors in neighboring bars and restaurants and, together with the guitarists, they shouted songs as they had last time. We lived on the 12th floor!!! and it was impossible to fall asleep. It was only about 2 a.m. after my request to the reception (as I understood it, the hotel security service began to react), they were 30 minutes later.... They were leaving. Sleep could also be interrupted after about one o'clock in the morning, the door to the room began to be opened with a key and two potential guests with suitcases entered. With bulging and sleepy eyes, I asked the question: Who are you?! In response, they told me that they were checking into the same room and showed me the key to our room... People realized the mistake of the staff and returned to the reception... Yes, and when booking this hotel in Booking, the administration offers a transfer from the airport to the hotel for 8000!!! tenge... The hotel administration should be ashamed, since upon arrival at the exit you can safely order a taxi from Yandex, the business fare for 3800 is a maximum of 4000!!! tenge.

Гостиница старая, обновленная недорогим ремонтом. Номера представлены в разной ценовой категории. Есть очень маленькие, но бюджетные. С большой кроватью и хорошим видом из окна. Уборка, смена белья происходит каждый день. Завтраки вкусные и свежие. Расположение гостиницы в центре города. Рядом множество кафешек, где можно поесть. Есть супермаркет Small.

Гостиница советская. Запах в главном холле вызывает головную боль.
Номера как на фото. Небольшие, но достаточно комфортные для проживания.
Завтрак обычный. Много хлеба. Хотелось бы больше разнообразия в нарезке мясной и сырной.
На балконе куча голубей, что меня напрягало.
Расположена отлично, здание монументальное. Ребёнок назвал это здание королём.
Персонал мне понравился. Хотелось бы, чтобы воду каждый день ставили в номер, особенно летом.

Отреставрирован местами неплохо. Холл, лифты - стильно смотрятся. Но номера конечно старенькие. Компенсирует шикарный вид на город и горы. Вкусные и разнообразные завтраки! В целом хорошо!
