I really liked this hotel. The hotel building is considered, if I am not mistaken, a masterpiece of Soviet architecture (the times when the Kazakh SSR was part of the RSFSR). Good location. Clean, modern rooms, a variety of buffet breakfasts, friendly staff!

I recommend it! A quiet pleasant place, there is a 24-hour bar, but there were a couple of people there)))) there is a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, hammam and sauna. The location is convenient.

The hotel is located in a beautiful location. The view from the room is gorgeous.
On the plus side: a great buffet, the staff is responsive.
And "not pluses": the price for the room is high, slightly overestimated, the renovation is long-standing and everything in the room is not quite fresh, bathroom and toilet. If it wasn't for the price, then you can safely put 5 stars, as well as 4.

The rooms have excellent views of the mountains and the city, the service is normal and did not need anything. Breakfast is a buffet of fresh fruits, steamed vegetables, etc., and desserts seem to be downwind. The rooms are clean, but the mirrors in the elevator are dusty (you can write messages) :)

We were in Almaty for the first time. We checked into the hotel "Kazakhstan" and were delighted. Nostalgia since childhood - I remember my grandparents had a lamp in the form of a hotel. The building is Soviet from the outside, but as soon as you cross the threshold, you get into a fairy tale. We were vacationing with my daughter and chose a standard room, but it's more than standard😍
There is a lot to talk about its advantages:
1. Two huge rooms with everything you need: two TVs, 2 double and 1 double beds, a sofa with a coffee table, a tea chest, a chest of drawers, two closets, a hanger, a large bathroom (bath, bidet and bathroom, all bathroom accessories - brushes, gels, shampoos, soap, shaving accessories, hot towel warmer, bathrobes).
2. Air conditioning, refrigerator.
3. Tea accessories: electric kettle, coffee, milk, sugar, black and green tea. Two liter bottles of water.
4. Magnificent view from the windows, beautiful lobby, elevators.
5. The buffet breakfast is gorgeous: for every taste, for diabetics, for those who are on PP, and for lovers of sweets.
6. Friendly staff - guys at the reception: all our wishes are taken into account (early check-in is free), high floor (given 22); maids immediately provided an iron.
WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK TO YOU AGAIN.

One of the most recognizable sights of Kazakhstan. The staff did well. There is a Soviet era inside the building. The furniture is old. The TVs are different in different rooms. Not everyone has air conditioning. The lighting of the rooms is weak. The rooms are small. But, as they say, if you don't like it, don't look. And don't show off. And so everything is great. It's a great hotel. As they say, you can't please everyone. The review is cool, at any time of the day.

The rooms are somewhat strange (in terms of layout) - at least we got a corner room by the fire escape, the layout and layout of it leaves questions (?), also, somewhat tired furniture / furnishings. Perhaps it was us who got such a strange one (?). I don't know.
However, as for the service, in pm the breakfasts are BEYOND PRAISE!!!
We did not even expect!
On the day of departure, we decided to have coffee in the villa restaurant on the 26th floor ... We were extremely surprised that at 12-30 it did not work even in cafe mode....

The monstrous experience of staying at the hotel "Kazakhstan". I flew to Almaty on a business trip for 3 days, the early flight from Moscow was at 8:45 a.m. My meetings started at 12:00. I planned to take a shower at the hotel and lie down for a while. But as soon as I entered the room, it began to shake from the sounds of drills and hammers. I was given a room on the 9th floor, and on the 8th floor there is a major renovation. Naturally, the hotel administration does not warn you about this either when booking or with a star. I asked to change the room, they said that there are no available rooms in my category, they will be able to do this only after 17:00. The new room was on the 15th floor. Tiny, stupidly oriented (if there is a suitcase on the bedside table at the entrance, then you can hardly open the door). The jamb was falling off at the front door, and the shower in the bathroom was either cold or boiling water. The heated floors warmed so much that even in slippers and on a towel it burned my feet. Very poor sound insulation (the hotel is located on the avenue, you can only sleep in earplugs). But the worst thing is that the next morning they started drilling under this number. At the same time, when my travel agent contacted the hotel, he said that I was lying and nothing was heard there. And on the non-smoking floor there is a monstrous smell of cigarettes (apparently, workers smoke).
The elevators are old and you can wait for them for 10 minutes. The iron was carried for about an hour at my request. Nobody cares about anything in the hotel. There are plastic bottles on the tables in the lobby, no one has even removed them.
The breakfast is decent, but there are queues at the stations with hot food, as there are a lot of groups from India.
I ran away from this hotel and I don't want to come back here for anything.

The rooms are compact, without unnecessary luxury, have not changed since the Soviet era, clean, linen is changed regularly, although toothpaste is offered in very small tubes, it is enough to clean only one jaw, and I have 2 of them, upper and lower... window frames have long needed to be replaced with modern ones, they do not open well, they also close... the window sill is not fixed, I wanted to take a selfie from the room (the view is gorgeous), realized that this structure could fall apart, and abandoned this idea...The food- breakfast is included in the bill, delicious, with a national bias, a lot of goodies (pastries), but Fruits are not possible to eat, apples, plums and the like are unripe, hard...Don't take it.
