A beautiful building built by Soviet engineers from Moscow, capable of withstanding an 11-point earthquake. The rooms of the superior standard category are "killed", the tiles in the bathroom are cracked, The frames in the windows are wooden-metal, ancient. The breakfast is excellent, varied, for every taste and faith. The restaurants at the hotel do not stand up to any criticism. A special situation for tourists from Russia is that an exchange office with a bad exchange rate works as the girl operator wants, and not according to a schedule. There are no ATMs in the hotel that change rubles or accept a Mir card. The reception staff is not competent and slow. I do NOT recommend it!

It's worth staying in it.
But still it's a four. It is not necessary to make excessive requests to this hotel.
The breakfasts are varied and delicious. From 7 to 11 am. You will definitely not stay hungry.
The rooms are clean and tidy. Plumbing is a bit tight. Cleaned every day.
An early arrival still needs to be clearly booked in advance and agreed upon with the hotel. We were given the opportunity to check in from 8 in the morning, for which a special thanks to the staff after a hard night flight. But they couldn't bring an extra bed for 4 days, apparently it was waiting for us in another room;))
In general, we were satisfied with the hotel.

You go into a room on the 21st floor (NEVER take 2101) and are shocked by his old age. Everything was falling off in the bathroom, the shower was kept on snot! The tub is slippery, and you can fall. There is nothing to hold on to, because the holder also wants to fall off.
A room with two rooms. The sofa from the 90s had all sorts of stains on it. The beds are just tin. At least the linen is white and clean
The windows are still framed in wood. The window in this room is very small, it will see something
In the evening, music is blaring from the 27th floor, where the restaurant is. In general, such a pleasure.
They moved us the next day. Well, no problem, because people move out every day in groups.
The rooms on the 19th floor are not so shabby
But! In the second room, where there is 1 bed and a sofa, the window did not close at all. There is a gap of 5 cm. And in our room it blows from the window, the gap is about 5 mm.
I thought to close the door to the room, but it was not there, the door is there, but it cannot be closed. There's just no lock.
The bathroom is the same in appearance as on the 21st. But at least the shower is fixed thoroughly and nothing is hanging out.
Photos on the website or booking are expectation / reality. Don't believe what they show.
The breakfasts are varied, there is a lot to choose from. Everything is OK here, there are no complaints.
Elevators - we even managed to get stuck in the elevator when we were going to breakfast....
And after breakfast, when we got to the room, the lights went out everywhere in the rooms.
But the rooms, there is no desire to stay voluntarily again in this hotel.
The hotel is being renovated. Near our room, the window was covered with a film and on the floor (apparently above or below) repairs are underway from 8 to 18.

There is something to strive for. The hotel is good, but it feels like you get 10 -15 years ago. Repairs are underway, they are probably trying, but.... There are 4 elevators in the lobby. Two of them have allocated gender staff. There are signs about this, but they are so small that people accustomed to ordinary hotels do not see them. And they are very surprised that the staff with carts and tools goes with them in the elevator cabin.... Separate the threads physically! Next, there is no iron in the room... Only on request. Well, the most important thing is the Internet .... There is a separate room where you can work with documents, there is a printer, a scanner. But why should I organize employees to connect the scanner and configure it. I was told that it does not work. It works, but you need to monitor the equipment. The Internet is very weak, the connection was constantly lost, I had to distribute the Internet from my personal phone. I don't know, maybe it's just me who's so lucky.
The breakfasts are good, the variety of dishes is sufficient. The staff is trained, but no more. If in excellent hotels the staff tries to be inconspicuous, but is always there and ready to help, then this is not the case. Here the staff is in plain sight and you have to contact and encourage the representatives of the hotel to help.
I have long dreamed of getting to the hotel Kazakhstan, since childhood, I got there. Will I stop again? Probably not, but, except to check whether there have been changes for the better.
Oh, I forgot... At the entrance... There is a turntable, - doors, as in expensive hotels... Wonderful! But right there, the next doorway without a window (door), through which a good half of the visitors pass.. . Yes, and the guards at the entrance, where is the frame... A frame for visibility, a guard too.... These are attributes (visibility) but not a function...

I was there in 2023 on November 23-26. Very respectful and kind staff, asked for a needle to sew clothes, so they gave 3 sets. The most advantageous location in the whole city, the view is so beautiful that it seems that this is a fairy tale , not reality . The rooms themselves are very decent , cleaning is carried out every day, the hotel on the 2nd floor has its own restaurant with various food.

The hotel is generally good, if you take new rooms. There were no such rooms left, and we had to take economy. The housekeeper's room is very old, there is no minibar, the TV is old. But it was clean.

Quite a modern hotel. The number of rooms is being slowly updated. Unfortunately, I got a room with a good view, but previously a cat apparently lived there, because there was a persistent smell of his presence in the room. Breakfast in the morning (buffet) is absolutely the same as in European hotels. There is its own Parking, but there are very few places on it, although the administration is doing its best to park the client in any available place. The room is cleaned daily, but there is some irresponsibility of the staff, for example, one of the days after cleaning, the room door was left open. The cost of accommodation was approximately 10 thousand tenge per day plus a tourist fee. In general, it is quite a modern hotel with a large number of rooms, beautiful views from the window from the upper floors and a convenient location.

During commissioning, the stability of the structure was checked with special units. And allegedly at the official opening there was a real earthquake, although not strong in points, but pretty scared the guests.

The rooms are in need of renovation. I lived on the 12th floor of the standard - the room has an old parquet floor, the mattress on the bed is very uncomfortable, but there are no pillows. There is a strong smell of smoking on the floor, although there are signs that smoking is prohibited. Some rooms have a lot of buzzing, I even had to move to another one, although then the ATM started buzzing at night.
The breakfasts are very mediocre, although you can choose something.
In principle, it will go for its cost.
Among the advantages: in the center and a magnificent view of the mountains from some rooms.
I was also very pleased with the Sky bar restaurant on the 26th floor with a great view of the city. The food is delicious, the price tag is average. The hookah is amazing

The Sovetskaya Hotel. The smell in the main hall causes a headache.
The rooms are as shown in the photo. Small, but comfortable enough to live in.

The room is a standard double room, with a window opening onto Dostyk Avenue. The weather was cool, and the (large) window was draining. In the bathroom, the shower barely hung on the holder. Cleaning was carried out whenever the cleaners themselves wanted. They hung a sign asking to be removed, returned two or three hours later - the room was not cleaned. I didn't like the organization of breakfast and the breakfast itself. We came a couple of times by 10.30 (breakfast until 11.00). There was no rice porridge (running) anymore and no one was going to report it. Delicious cheese was eaten, not tasty remained. The situation is the same for some other species. I came over to order an omelet. There are some tomato and some other vegetable additives left. There was no bacon, cheese, or anything else. That's how the omelet was made from what it was... Somewhere at 10.55, the staff actively begins to clean everything urgently with a bang and noise (banging cupboard doors, rattling dishes, cutlery is thrown into drawers ...), that it is not possible to hear all this and I would rather leave this second floor faster. To be honest, we didn't manage to have a delicious breakfast (although there seems to be a lot of things). I went out a couple of times in six days, I didn't do it anymore. A separate topic is the musicians in front of the hotel. around midnight for two days in a row, cheerful guitarists came and from the entrance to the hotel on the right, they began to sing different songs. Their loud singing was answered by "well-rested" "cheerful" visitors in neighboring bars and restaurants and, together with the guitarists, they shouted songs as they had last time. We lived on the 12th floor!!! and it was impossible to fall asleep. It was only about 2 a.m. after my request to the reception (as I understood it, the hotel security service began to react), they were 30 minutes later.... They were leaving. Sleep could also be interrupted after about one o'clock in the morning, the door to the room began to be opened with a key and two potential guests with suitcases entered. With bulging and sleepy eyes, I asked the question: Who are you?! In response, they told me that they were checking into the same room and showed me the key to our room... People realized the mistake of the staff and returned to the reception... Yes, and when booking this hotel in Booking, the administration offers a transfer from the airport to the hotel for 8000!!! tenge... The hotel administration should be ashamed, since upon arrival at the exit you can safely order a taxi from Yandex, the business fare for 3800 is a maximum of 4000!!! tenge.
