Great hotel!!! In season, there is a wonderful buffet with vegetable and cheese-sausage cuts, olives, salads, fruits and more... Meat dishes : kebabs, roast meat, pilaf... Wine is on the menu in the evenings. There is coffee from the coffee machine. In the room there are towels even for the beach, bathrobes, slippers. Their appliances include a refrigerator, a kettle, and a refrigerator. It is convenient that there is a bottle (glass) for water. Glasses, tea cups, tea are included. But every evening the lights are turned off (for a few minutes), and there was no water (also for a few minutes). So far, this has not affected the rest in any way. Everything is just fine!! There is a swimming pool!heated! Next to the sea is the first line! I highly recommend it. Any question is answered by e-mail. There is a transfer, it significantly reduces the time of crossing the border!

It was smooth on paper: a new hotel, a good renovation, spacious rooms for the family, the first line, their own sun beds with umbrellas… But everything breaks down about the implementation:
1. Noise. disco in the cafe under the windows until 01:00. Then the guests leave for another hour and have fun with a noisy attraction. You won't be able to fall asleep before 02:00.
2. The sea. Going to sea is dirty. Draining some kind of urban sewer. Parking terribly smelly boats. As a result: oil film on water. And sometimes foam.
3. Nutrition. You pay separately for lunch/dinner. You get a poor choice. There is nothing to feed the children. The fruits are overripe and even got a moldy grapefruit! The wine is disgusting. The cake is spoiled. They don't know how to cook meat and fish. Only tomatoes, cucumbers and tea remain. Is it worth paying for it?
4. Price. Accommodation is very expensive. But there is no buzz. And therefore not worth the money.

Why 4? I'll explain right now.
The cleanliness and cleaning of the rooms is super.
Scrupulously polite staff.
The views from the Hotel are great.
But to spoil everything is WiFi- you can't watch TV on the phone either (we were on the 4th floor). Figure out the WIFI, this is the only disadvantage of this Hotel.
And a clean beach, 2 minutes walk away.
The buffet is not bad enough!

We had a rest from 14.06 -22.06. 2023. For the first time in Abkhazia, we were not disappointed!The food is very decent, the restaurant staff reacts well and sensitively to everything. The territory is beautiful and well maintained.Wishes that there are no umbrellas by the pool, on the beach the viewer looks the other way or is absent altogether! But, there have always been places. Animation is lame, everything is bad for adults!!! The site is not informative! They said it was relevant and prices, etc., in fact it is not clear! In the room, I would like good curtains covering the window from wall to wall because the lantern on the balcony burns all night without adjustment.There were no slippers, it's a pity, we expected, according to the reviews there should be! The service is excellent, water cooler on the floor, tea in the room,bathrobe, shower gel, shampoo, air conditioning, safe, WiFi, there is no Wi-Fi on the beach! Gorgeous. The pool is warm and clean, the sea is clean, the view from the window to the sea is gorgeous. Sun beds and umbrellas on the beach until 5.30pm. The food is varied and delicious. The staff is friendly. The Wi-Fi is good. Insta is loaded without VPN. We were in our own car, but it seems that there is even a transfer to the airport in Sochi.

A wonderful hotel! The rooms are clean, cleaned daily. Towels are changed almost every day, including beach towels. It was very nice to find terry bathrobes and slippers in the locker. Three meals a day is more like a buffet. A varied menu. Vegetables, fruits all the time. The chef is a big pro. Everything was delicious. There was wine for dinner. The territory of the hotel is small and well maintained. It was nice to relax by the pool. The pool is not big, but it was good for the children, and the adults swam. It is a 3-minute walk to its own beach with a sufficient number of sun beds and umbrellas. And I especially want to say thank you to all the service staff!

It's not worth the money!
We rested from 08/25/04/09. Yes, the hotel is new,very beautiful lobby of the hotel,the resort is beautiful,a couple of minutes to the sea, the territory is beautiful, the girls at the reception are very friendly. Beautiful views of the sea and mountains, especially when eating outside.That's probably all the advantages.
Of the cons: it seems to be small things, but these little things spoil the whole impression. Stains on the linen, towels were often given out wet, apparently there are a limited number of them in the hotel and they do not have time to wash and dry, torn curtains, the floor in the corridor is terrible and there was always an unpleasant smell in the corridor, bathroom, broken sun beds.We cleaned every day, the maid is a separate story, she talked endlessly via video link with relatives from Uzbekistan and this is for the whole corridor, from the very morning!!! Sometimes she could sit under our doors and talk very loudly and was not embarrassed that it was 8 a.m. (I attach a photo, but she covered her face, still posting a person on the Internet without his consent is not beautiful). And that's all for 15,800 per day!!!!!The animation in the hotel is for a weak three, two women, and they look more like caretakers than animation, it seemed that for show, there was no enthusiasm and involvement. There is a meager set of toys in the game, there are few books at all, as well as an unpleasant musty smell in the hallway. Of the waiters in the restaurant, a couple of girls were only kind, the rest were busy with personal issues, constantly on the phones, or in discussions of guests, which was very unpleasant. I would recommend a girl named Marianne to change her profession altogether, always with such an angry and dissatisfied face, as if it was everyone's fault that she works here! I was walking outside with plates of food, the girls were standing at the door, I asked Marianne to help open the door, but she looked at me as if I asked her to carry me in her arms, she didn't even move!
The beach is private, but no one is watching it, there are a lot of strangers occupying sun beds and no one controls it. There are no antiseptics anywhere in the hotel, and this is with such a strong rotovirus, which is an integral part of the whole of Abkhazia.
Also a huge minus, but not related to the hotel: the rotovirus is one solid, you go to the sea and the road is constantly spit on. It is very noisy from nearby establishments, from their lively frothing until 1 am. If you are thinking about where to spend your vacation, consider other options! This hotel and this place don't cost that much money! I will duplicate my review on all the reviews, I hope it will help many people choose another place and not spoil their vacation!

We stayed at the hotel from June 26 to July 8, 2023.They left yesterday. The advantages are cleanliness, excellent maids, especially Nina. The girls at the reception are very friendly and friendly. Firstly, for the price that we paid, probably something good should be after all, but alas, like everyone else, we fell for the bait that the hotel is 4 stars and the result is 2 with a stretch. Let's start the beach on the first line if you want to call it a beach. A pile of stones after a December storm washed ashore and it's not pebbles but cobblestones. We put the sunbeds ourselves, then the boy comes and puts the umbrellas. The kitchen is something modest, but I notice when you take a plate from the top clean and the bottom of the plates in fat. Cleaning should be the best if you didn't look at it somewhere or just talked, then brother Dr. you don't need to do a normal cleaning. And now the main thing is rotavirus, he has been walking around this hotel for a long time and there is probably not a single family who has not had this infection in this hotel. Friends, as long as you have the opportunity to refuse to stay at this hotel, then do it IMMEDIATELY or later it will be excruciatingly painful for the days spent with a temperature and a pot with a view of the sea. We had a rest in August 2023. They settled us promptly, without waiting for 14 hours, which was very pleasant. The room was on the fourth floor. The view is beautiful both on the sea and on the mountains. The balcony overlooked the side of a nearby cafe, but you couldn't hear the music in the closed room. Deluxe room, spacious, clean, daily cleaning. No cockroaches and bedbugs, as we wrote earlier. The water and light were not turned off. Special thanks to the cleaner Valentina. Towels were changed, even at our request. We really liked the food in the first days. But then, they just got tired of her. It is clear that they add their spices everywhere. I already wanted my own home. The sea is nearby. The pool is clean and warm. Of course, they caught rotavirus. But it wasn't hard to get over it. Polysorb to help. After the baby got sick, they decided to stay for another day, but there were no places. I had to move to the Wellness park hotel. I didn't like the price of the New Year's banquet) we were alone with a child. The price is for him as an adult. We were sitting together at the table, there were 3 (!!!) bottles of vodka, 2 wines and champagne. I asked to change something for lemonade, they said that I needed to buy it separately!! With a table price of 12,000 for two!!
It is not clear why children also have to pay for alcohol on the table.

The only drawback was the intestine, be prepared to spend two or three days on it, Enterosgel and ibucline helped me to relieve the temperature for the first two days. We were at the end of August, the sea was like fresh milk, bacteria multiply well in warm water, after talking with friends they said that there was such a problem with the intestines on the entire Black Sea coast in 2022. If you go in early summer or early autumn, there may not be such a problem. There were 4 families in Abkhazia, all with children, 2 families in this hotel, 2 in others, no one was spared, just someone before someone later. The price for accommodation, in my opinion, is too high. I really liked the kitchen, a solid five. The location is so-so, let me explain. The area of Novaya Gagra, there is nothing to look at except the Ferris wheel, there are only ruins all around. Next, access to the sea directly at the hotel, BUT sewage drains out right next to the beach, the smell is healthy. Only a warm pool helps out. I wanted to put the rating lower, but my hand does not rise, because in general everything was very hospitable.
P.S. As a builder, I constantly noticed minor flaws in the repair, this does not affect the overall assessment, just my comment.

The best hotel in Abkhazia!!! The food is such that you can find a dish for every taste!!! Free wine in the evenings and brewed coffee in the morning!!! I will definitely recommend the A.V. Sokol Hotel to anyone who is planning a vacation in Gagra.
There are not many star hotels in Abkhazia at all. And if you plan to relax in comfort, then you definitely come here. This place is about the quality-price ratio. The service is at an excellent level.
I stayed in a standard double room with a magnificent view of the sea and mountains (all photos are attached). For me, it turned out to be a big plus that a transfer is attached to the hotel, which will pick you up from Adler or Sochi and take you directly to the hotel gates.
A little bit about the room… Very clean and bright, fully equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay: tea set, towels, disposable slippers, bathrobe, bathroom set, air conditioning, mini bar, plasma TV, two trash cans in the room (one in the bathroom, the other in the room itself) and even there is a safe. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
There is also a rumor, I don't know how true it is, that the lights are turned off at night throughout Abkhazia. But even if this is the case, the hotel has its own lighting system. There are some light cards in the room. Innovation, in general.
Three meals a day in the buffet format. The dishes are very diverse. There are also a lot of desserts. White and red wine are served for dinner. The staff at the restaurant was also pleased. I have never seen a dirty plate on the table, the waiters work promptly during the restaurant's operation.
There is a large swimming pool on the territory of the hotel, there are many sun beds, sun umbrellas are attached for every two sun beds. There is a spacious playground nearby. Everything is very well lit in the evening.
The beach is right next to the hotel. Clean and equipped, there is entertainment by the type of jet skis.

We stayed at this hotel from May 18 to May 25, 2022 with our family. Although the hotel is small, it is very stylish, modern, and cozy.
Our room was a double room with a large balcony and a stunning view of the sea and mountains (by the way, all rooms in this hotel overlook the mountains and the sea). The cleaning is excellent, the room has a large double bed, sofa (unfolds), sofa, kettle and all accessories, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, shampoo, soap, etc

Food is a separate topic, there are simply no words, everything is delicious, always fresh, thanks a lot to the chefs! We had breakfast and dinner included:
For breakfast there were 2 porridges (oatmeal, rice or millet), scrambled eggs, omelette, hot sandwiches, various cuts of cheeses, vegetables, sausages, macaroni and cheese, sausages, pancakes, jam pies, croutons, potato pancakes or zucchini, pancakes with cottage cheese, cheesecakes, sweet pastries, cereals, milk, homemade compote, jam, fruits (apples, kiwi, orange, greyfruit, strawberries).
Dinner was even more plus homemade white and red wine was served, you can take as much as you want. You will definitely not stay hungry, believe me there is something to choose.
The hotel is very conveniently located in the center of Novy Gagra, near the embankment, Ferris wheel,
children's entertainment, water park, local market, many shops and cafes where delicious food is served (for lunch we went to the Pearl, Palm, Dad and dining Boat).
The sea is 5 minutes walk away, there is a pebble beach, umbrellas and sun beds for free, entrance to the sea is pebbles.
In general, we really liked the hotel, I recommend it to everyone, especially with children.
The only thing that might alert you is the proximity of local cafes, music and karaoke until 12 at night, but this is not in all rooms. The music didn't bother us in any way, the children and we slept, we didn't even move our ears)))

On the day of arrival, however, the girl at the reception was not very kind, but you can get over it. Payment is only by transfer to Tinkoff or in cash. The advice is to bring cash.
There are sun beds on the beach. Wi-Fi is stable, I held many meetings both from the room and near the pool, there were no problems. It was June 6-9, 2022.
We wanted to return in August, but there are no more places. It's a pity. I want to come back here!

The hotel is wonderful and the staff is on top. I am pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Delicious food, beautiful views, a heated pool for relaxation after excursions and a location right by the sea. Now I will only come back here!
