I had a vacation in the month of May in 2022 with my children and a friend. Everything is at the highest level. The food is something unimaginable, the staff is very polite and friendly. A very nice hotel. They are fed "nauba". There is a warm swimming pool, ice pools. The territory is small, but it is not needed - you are still traveling around Abkhazia. There are tables, sun beds and umbrellas on the private terrace. There is a small children's room. In winter, it's a little cold in the bathroom - an electric heated towel rail does not add much heat. It would be good if the Black Sea fish were given more often.

The hotel is excellent, at the Turkish 4 level, except for some moments: terrible mattresses, lack of a children's pool, cleaning messed up a couple of times (we stopped by the room with a full trash can).
Otherwise, the service is on the level, the food is delicious, there is wine for dinner, there is something to feed the child (ours was 2 years old), a children's room, a playground, children's animation!
We were unlucky with the weather at sea, we swam a little in July ((I did not understand the beach: it seems that there are some sunbeds for the hotel, but everyone was sunbathing there, both with and without bracelets, it seems no one is watching.
I do not advise you to take excursions outside the gate, of questionable quality, disappointed.
We ordered a taxi from the reception, everything is great...And even in a super hotel, beware of Rotavirus, the child caught it, although he did not go into the sea, take Enterofuril)

We had a rest at this hotel. We just got back. New, nice rooms, relatively large bathroom, good water pressure in the shower (there is a rain shower) . Things are worse with the toilet: the water pressure is weak and water is being collected very slowly. The water itself flows with some impurities, yellow in color, so drinking water was used when brushing teeth. The air conditioning in the room is working properly and there is a special light card so that the air conditioner does not turn off when you leave the room, you return to a cool room after the heat, which is a big plus. At night, the water and lights are turned off for a couple of hours. The hotel staff is polite, attentive, ready to help solve any problems. Rooms are cleaned every day, linen is changed every 4-5 days. The restaurant at the hotel : during breakfast, there are constant problems with the coffee machine, then there is no water, then it is cleaned, then it is broken. Nonsense. The food is monotonous: for each breakfast, sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, boiled eggs, some marinades, sliced sausage and ham (often with a whiff), 1 type of cheese, semolina / herculean porridge, pancakes, pancakes, casserole, sausages, scrambled eggs every other day, pastries. For lunch and dinner, slices from breakfast plus the same side dish : rice / buckwheat / pasta/ potatoes. A couple of soups for lunch (repeated almost every day), chicken often, pork (over-dried), sometimes cutlets, fish (if fried, then also over-dried), a couple of types of fruits, pastries. They ate mostly in cafes, they could no longer eat the same thing every day, well, or every other day. The chef has no creativity, you can come up with a lot of things in this price range. The pool is really small, initially it was possible to make it one and a half times larger. It's too bad that there is no possibility to rinse your feet after the beach on the territory of the hotel, there is not enough pallet and a tap with water, you drag all this sand into the rooms. And if your rooms do not face the Grand Hotel Abkhazia (you can hear less on this side), then on the other side you will have a disco until one o'clock in the morning. Closed windows won't save you. And one more thing: be prepared for rotovirus, you will have to lie in a room with a fever and sick stomachs for a couple of days.

Now I want to tell you about the Prometheus travel agency. We ordered a tour of the Golden Ring of Abkhazia, duration from 10-00 to 21-00. A small carline took us, because we were the last to be picked up, then there were no places nearby. The driver is a big fan of making comments, which is generally a bit strange. The guide talked so fast that after an hour of driving along the winding roads of Abkhazia, she had a headache. There is no view through the small windows of the bus. Conclusion: if you want negative emotions, then you should go to Prometheus. There are a lot of travel agencies in the city. The pricing policy is the same. Specify what kind of transport and what the order of hotels is (when they take you on a tour). Have a good rest!

The hotel is brand new, almost on the shore, the sea is visible from all rooms (side view), it is 100 meters from the entrance. The sea is the most transparent, we swam every morning, although it was the beginning of November, the water felt invigorating for us, but it was just right for a morning swim. The beach is pebbly, as everywhere in Abkhazia there are round pebbles, it is not comfortable to go in, take slippers for swimming. On sunny days, despite November, they even set up sun beds on the beach. The staff is responsive, tries to satisfy most of the requests, they say that it helps them to become better, and it's true. I read in the reviews that you walk from the beach with dirty feet, there is no foot faucet to wash off the sand (it is at the exit from the beach), now there is, it was made at the fence on the street opposite the pool. The pool is deep, of the same depth, not very large, but warm, since it was in November, someone was cool and it was constantly made warmer, the water temperature was above 30 degrees, we swam until 10 pm. The room has beach towels and bathrobes. There are clothes dryers on the balconies to make sure it dries - electric towel rails in the bathroom. There was an ironing area in the hallway on our floor (a board with an iron), but I think this is the case on all floors. Meals are breakfast and dinner, but you can add lunches, although we were sorry that because of the dinners at the hotel we were not able to taste the local cuisine in the restaurants :) They cooked very tasty and there was always a lot of choice, there was a desire to try everything, so we regularly overeated, and in 6 days we definitely did not have time to get bored with the kitchen. On the day of arrival, there was live music in the restaurant - a saxophone, so it didn't bother with songs, although when recordings were made, "southern pop" often sounded, so it would have been replaced with unobtrusive music without words. I would especially like to mention the breakfasts, those who swear in reviews of uniformity apparently miss Turkey with its "maximum all inclusive", and I compared it with hotels in Spain, Greece and other Europe.... It's completely boring there and it's ALWAYS the same for breakfast, so there are regularly different pairs of porridges to choose from, cottage cheese casserole or cheesecakes, pancakes, pancakes, eggs and omelets... and delicious cottage cheese and sour cream. The milk is generally the tastiest!!! At dinner, drinks, wine and even coffee, although not from the car, it is only for breakfast. There is a tea station in the rooms (kettle, cups, tea supply)
Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the very hard bed, for my sore back it was a problem, I constantly woke up when I turned over or when my husband turned over or got up, because the whole bed was shaking. I even thought about laying out a "baby" armchair-bed, which is provided by default in the room.... 7 floors, but very thoughtful elevators with strange logic, although there are 2 of them, but you can wait a very long time, it's definitely faster to go down on foot. Parallel to the hotel building is the taller Grand Abkhazia Hotel, respectively, the sun in November was in our room only in the morning, then went beyond Grand Abkhazia, on the other hand, in summer it can only get better? The second side of the hotel overlooks the outdoor cafes, respectively, in the morning there is no sun, and in the evenings it is very noisy because of the music in the cafe, we even heard it from ourselves, but the windows are good, we closed the balcony and the sound disappeared. And it is better to turn on the air conditioner when the balcony is closed. Mosquitoes were getting at me : (they say there were a lot of them this year. The wrong design of the bathroom door, although at first I liked it outwardly, there was a gap of a couple of cm at the hinges, so there was always a swamp on the floor after my husband washed, he managed to pour so much water into this gap.... The floor towel was changed daily, unlike the others. Well, there was not enough sponge for shoes in the room, and scales for luggage in the hotel to check how much we are going to overweight :) the risk of buying too many delicious "souvenirs" is very high :)
The sea is a pebble. It is better to take bathing slippers. The water is clean. The depth comes quickly. Fishermen in the morning :) In early November, we swam in the morning, but the water is invigorating. When a single boat floated by, inviting you to "the last boat trip of the season", it was very annoying! I can imagine how it gets in the summer.
There are a lot of homeless animals (dogs, cats), they say that they do not have shelters and the locals shoot them, and it is difficult or impossible for them to survive the winter : (I really wanted to take a couple of gentle teenage puppies home (there are local girls there who help with sending them to St. Petersburg and Moscow, look at the groups on the Internet removal of stray dogs from Abkhazia), but the husband did not give consent :- (we already have a dog. But the dogs were the tenderest and clearly wanted to have their own owner, I still suffer that I couldn't help them :-(So if someone likes you, make up your mind, it's easy to get them out of there, watch the Internet

A very modern hotel. The repair is still tolerable, but locally there is a need for renovation, for example, the wallpaper has come off in places. One of the advantages is a beautiful exterior facade (compared to many other tired hotels in Abkhazia), a good location, positive service, a large selection of food. Among the minuses is a terrible disgusting bed (it's unbearable to sleep, my back ached on the second day, and the same problem is not only with me, as I found out at the reception desk - mass appeals and similar complaints), the pool is small and it's not comfortable to swim because of the ugliness coming from not completely sober swimmers (and an employee who ensures order and there is no discipline)

We were a big squad in the summer of 2021. There is not much service, only responsive girls at the reception, but the cleaning is so-so! The food is also so-so, the same thing! The animation for Children is simply unprofessional (even in comparison with the old Adler).
Tadam! ! ! The room is a large studio, divided by a curtain wall without a door: that is, the living room area and the bedroom area (so there are beds here. But the light in the room was turned on with one key on the switch, and there are no other additional buttons! That is, if one half of the family (adult) still awake and wants lighting, then the other (children) are already asleep and and and . I got up on a chair at 22:00 (where the children are) and unscrewed the light bulbs.....‼️‼️‼️ And so every evening.... And THIS is in a room for 14,000rubles per day. I asked a question at the reception, to which they smiled sweetly and replied that they had designed it that way)))) and so it is in all large rooms (i.e. sea view)
Our family had the largest room, a view of the sea and the city, but the Windows in both rooms faced the street (and there were 3 night bars, who hammered Louder until 24:00). On the third day we got used to it. And in general, guys, we rested in Gagra for the first time, this is my least favorite resort (now)! And it's still not just about the room. Local beach natives ride jet skis between floating tourists. All tourists experience constant stress: you dive, and this dried horseradish is next to them out of nowhere brrrr.... And so it is in Gagra wherever there is a crowd of tourists near the water, except for Old Gagra.
That is, in theory, you need to relax in the area of staraya Gagra; it is very green there, and there are no Dried Ones on Scooters. But the paradox is that there is no entertainment for children, and there is no variety with food.
We made our conclusions, and in August we went to Pitsunda (already without children). The sea is cleaner, there are no beach Jerky almost! There are a lot of pines.
Never to Gagra again!!!

Well, this "unforgettable vacation" has come to an end. Honestly, we have never experienced such emotions from a trip before. Overall, the hotel is good. Spacious rooms, cozy, clean, good food. But this is nothing compared to what awaits you from about the 3rd day of rest. Rotovirus. Absolutely everyone in the hotel is sick. Children vomit in the restaurant, in the corridors, at the entrance to the hotel, on the beach. Everywhere! There is no chance to escape from this filth. At least if you have children. During the week of rest on the beach, we were one day, the rest of the time we lay flat. The child suffered very badly from the disease, and even had to be taken to a local hospital. I don't know by what miracle we got out of there. A huge question for the hotel administration, what is going on there?? Do you even understand that you have an epidemic, and in such a situation you need to close down, sanitize or do something about it. How can you take on such responsibility, knowing that what is happening is intentionally bullying people. Most of them come with young children, for whom this disease is dangerous due to dehydration, not all parents know how to help a child. At the place of this, the staff simply throws up their hands, and when asked to replace the soiled bed linen or towel with a child, they say that they do not accept dirty ones, wash them. Are you out of your mind at all?? I have a child with a temperature of 40, vomiting and endless diarrhea, and I will do the laundry. There are no simple words. A huge tip for those who decide where to go with children is not to choose this place. As for the music from the cafe, which was previously written here, it really beats to the fullest, since our windows faced the other side, but even that was audible.

I'll give the hotel 5*. But! There are nuances.
So, the food, service, rooms - everything is super, without complaints. The room has everything - a set of all towels (including beach towels), tea set,bathrobes (for everyone!), dental kit,sewing kit, gel, shampoo, one-time.a razor, shaving gel, even a fumigator. This is respect. The room is cleaned daily, of high quality. The food is varied, everything is edible. Wine for dinner is red/white. Canapes, snacks, sandwiches and wine. There are always fruits-peaches, apples, oranges, grapefruit, watermelons. The pool is small, but there is never a fullness, i.e. there are always enough places. Perhaps because the sea is 1 minute from the hotel))) There is a private beach with sun beds and umbrellas. View of the sea and mountains from the room. In general, it's all cool. Now the disadvantages are that the animation is weak, children are still entertained, and board games like mafia and so on are for adults in the evenings. And the biggest disadvantage is the cafes around!! This is hell)))) There is a cacophony of music from 4 sides until 00.00. Pm here or hang out in the same cafes, or endure. You will not be able to sleep - the sound from the speakers completely penetrates all 7 floors and you can safely dance in the room))))) That's why I wouldn't go a second time, because sometimes I just want to sleep on vacation...Although the hotel ITSELF is cool!

I was at this hotel in the off-season, I specially chose with meals and a pool and I was not mistaken. The hotel is new, by the standards of Abkhazia it is generally worthy of 5 stars. The girls at the reception are attentive and friendly. Daily cleaning, in-room shower facilities, slippers, bathrobe. The pool is warm and clean. The food is just a fairy tale! The hotel is EXCELLENT, new, it will be a year on June 1.as a tourist who has visited many countries, I want to note that everything is very EXCELLENT. Our first and last trip to Abkhazia. We thought for a long time where this summer, people advised us different things. They talked great about Abkhazia!!! So we decided. The hotel was recommended to us. The hotel itself is good. New, clean. They clean and wash something in it all the time. Friendly staff. Cleaning every day. The pool is clean but small. There are plenty of sun loungers around the pool and on the beach. The food is fine too. And it's delicious, homemade.
Cons.....
The sea, the smell of sewage is constantly at sea, and in the morning in the hotel toilet. And the worst thing is rotavirus....It's a sad custom there, alas. For the first time in so many years of rest, we caught it. Everyone was ill. No matter how you save yourself, you will definitely catch it. The sea is a bit dirty. It was clean 2-3 times. That's how many times in 14 days we swam in it. Either the eerie smell of sewage, or jellyfish. The beach is certainly nearby. There are runoff streams (probably rivers) everywhere, but the smell is creepy. And another disadvantage is the very loud music in front of the hotel. It's like Beverly's restaurant. We are on the 7th floor- more or less. 2-4 floor did not sleep until 12. While the music was playing. After all, hotel owners need to somehow negotiate with restaurants and, of course, sound the alarm on morbidity and runoff at sea. These are your feedback afterwards . And the last thing
We were picked up at 15. We have to vacate the room at 12. And you can't use anything anymore. Even a snack at lunch. They are picked up early from abroad - but we need to think about it somehow. This is also the first time.
Nature is certainly beautiful. Mountains. It is better to swim in Pitsunda. Cleaner. But there is a fee to go 1000 and the beach entrance is 50₽

We visited the most basic. It's certainly unforgettable. But now let's put an end to Abkhazia.

We stayed at the hotel from August 29 to September 7, 2021 . The hotel is new, the rooms are very clean, almost like in Turkey , the rooms are cleaned every day for 5+! Friendly staff , there is animation. The food is monotonous , almost the same thing every day , there is no children's menu ( only boiled rice , buckwheat and sometimes mashed potatoes ) in the rooms, the mattresses are terrible , super hard , that all the springs dig into the ribs , it hurts to sleep ! The lights were turned off almost every day , day and night , and if there is no light , then for some reason there is no water : (toilets did not work on the ground floor at all, when I asked why , they said there were no workers who would clean them! My child peed in the bushes all over the territory and not only mine ;) the pool is small, if everyone who lives in it gets in , there will be no free space left ! The territory is very small , there is almost none ! One slide and 2 rockers for all the children , and there were sooo many of them ! The location to the sea is great - the sea is 2 minutes! We only had a dream at night - the local cafes were hammering as hard as the last time :) and after that, the continuation from the locals - music in cars, sometimes shooting fights , mats and loud conversations ... complete disrespect for the guests of the country! The attitude towards girls is silent in general .. taxi drivers are not polite, they can be rude and even send (I heard from another person) For such a price, I will never go to Abkhazia again in my life.. This country needs to grow up to such hotel prices!!!!! And of course, do not forget about rotovirus - the whole hotel was sick with it, without exception! From what?! One can only guess .. it doesn 't matter - a vacation on the toilet and hugging him is a horror!

The beds are comfortable, the pillows are not. The pool is heated, but small, for children and relaxation. The bowl of the toilet bowl of an unfortunate shape is a strange choice for a new hotel.
