Great hotel. New, stylish,clean, good textiles. There are soap accessories.Very tasty food (we had breakfast), breakfast from 9:00 Moscow time (local time an hour ago). Good location, 1st line. There is a promenade and a Ferris wheel nearby. There is a Palm cafe opposite. An average kitchen. And the music in the nearby cafe screams so that it will interfere with sleep until late at night. The hotel has a small heated swimming pool, a children's room. The view from the balcony is very beautiful from either side of the hotel. The staff is great, the maids are trying very hard, the girls at the reception are friendly.

An excellent hotel, with good staff, modern clean rooms with beautiful views, decent food (for my taste) - for Gagra and Abkhazia as a whole it is 5*+. There is everything you need in the room, as well as on the territory of the hotel - a children's room, a heated swimming pool, a bar with very affordable prices. Young people will probably be bored, but for a relaxing family holiday (we were in the winter season) it's just great. I would like to note the very friendly staff, they do not refuse requests, they are very attentive - thank you very much for our rest!

Sokol liked it so much that we changed our traditions, did not visit the hotel 2 times, were in 2023 in May, and on New Year's Eve. We advised our friends, they liked it too. Delicious food, excellent rooms, on ng we were given a corner room with a gorgeous view and a compliment from the hotel. The staff is well-trained, the territory is carefully maintained both in spring and winter, the pool is perfectly heated.

We were at this hotel in March, we did not visit the pool, the sea, etc. But the fact of arrival was a little stunned, upon arrival they were given the keys to room 510, when they went up to the room they were stunned by an unpleasant smell in the room. As it turned out, there was a very unpleasant surprise in the toilet, we went down to the reception and were given the keys to room 611 and there was a similar surprise in the toilet and for the third time there were no surprises in room 512. In general, the impression of the hotel was spoiled, we will not return anymore.

Everything was just great. The view is amazing. If you want to look at the sea, you want to look at the mountains)) the room is very spacious and comfortable. There was a place for suitcases and backpacks, and the laptop fit quietly on the table. They took the standard. The bed is very comfortable, and an extra sofa too. My son was pleased with him)) separate respect for the blankets, it's just a cannon. It was so cool to wrap up in them, they are so homely)) The kitchen is beyond praise. We had a rest with a friend at the end of May, we liked everything very much, the hotel is clean, the breakfasts and dinners are very tasty and varied. I would also like to point out that the staff will help with any issue. The pool is warm, which is a huge plus. The room overlooked the grand hotel and this is good because In the evening you can not hear music from the neighboring cafes, the room was deluxe, they have their own terrace (there are sun beds, tables, and sofas on it) the hotel has its own beach, sun beds and umbrellas for free.

So I got to write a review. We visited the A.V. Sokol Hotel. One of the advantages of the hotel is the distance from the sea, you can say that you left the hotel and you are at the sea and the friendly staff who always at any time of the day or night will come to the rescue, show, prompt, etc. and there is nothing to say about cleaning 5+. They're trying their best. Of the cons, the food is very spicy, there is no variety, glasses with lipstick. The animation team is not clear whether they are there or not. Very weak. And if your room overlooks the cafe Pearl, then it's better to go there right away because you can relax in the room and even more so fall asleep before 24.00 for sure))). As for excursions for extreme people, this is a fairy tale. Safety measures are probably in the last place. I am very disappointed with the trip and sorry for the money spent.

The hotel is very nice!
The food is just super, never in 10 days of stay did I see a dish that was collected from the products of the previous feast, as is often the case in hotels…Everything is super tasty, made from high-quality products.
The rooms are clean, cleaning is daily, the staff is helpful.
Children's animation is at the highest level, they are constantly engaged with children.
The pool is clean, but very, very warm (like in the bathroom), it can be a little cooler.
The hotel is family-run, quiet, and left only positive emotions.

We rested in Gagra for the 5th time, but now only in A.V.Sokol-a new cozy hotel next to a good beach, the hotel restaurant is just super, the chefs and the waitress are megarespectful (quality and service are beyond praise), in general the staff is responsive and friendly. I liked this hotel at first, because of the excellent location-the first line, because of the delicious food (everything is cooked at home), because of the cleanliness of the hotel, and especially on the Swedish line.
But there were also nuances that greatly spoiled the impression of staying in this place.The hotel's territory is too small, where there is a swimming pool, but very little vegetation.In the room we lived in (two-room family room)we found 2 medium-sized cockroaches that crawled out from under the refrigerator in the evening)I can't stand this kind of insects at all)I just can't stand it)I'm very squeamish!I reported the problem to the administrator, I was told that there are no rooms available, that another room will be available only on the date when we move out in a day)The administrator was also surprised by my words, saying that they allegedly do not have cockroaches)Then I showed her a video from our room with cockroaches)Then we came to the dining room, unfortunately, I again came across these vile insects, in the amount of several pieces)I realized that the admin had just deceived us)There are cockroaches and we have seen them all with our company and even filmed a video so as not to be unfounded.It's not a pleasant situation, this is the first time I've seen this in a hotel!The point-cockroaches personally negates my family's arrival at this hotel forever!

A good and well-maintained hotel. We didn't go to the pool.
A good breakfast, we came to the opening once, there was pandemonium, I remembered the old Turkish first trips. The staff on the floor, the maids, are just above all praise. But at the reception, not really. There was one problem at 1.30 am, the locals were walking under the windows of our room and listening to music at full power. No one came from the staff. I had to settle it myself.

We had a vacation with our family in July 2023. 11 out of 11 nights we hardly slept, we slept during the day. The hotel is located in an unfortunate location, despite the fact that it is the first line and close to the sea, the noise from the street is such that it is impossible to fall asleep. The problem is that nearby there is a cafe Zhemchuzhina, in which there is a disco until 12 am daily, as well as a fast food restaurant with round-the-clock operation with tables on the street, to which locals come by car, drink and listen to music that yells at the whole neighborhood, they do not worry that next to the hotel with lots of kids. The hotel staff do not want them to comment, they do not call the police, they are negligent. Well, rotovirus, of course, be prepared that 80% of the rest will not be far from the toilet, what is the reason for this, I will not say, whether with a buffet, or with the sea, or with the pool, most likely all together, there were 8 people, everyone was ill.

A great hotel for Abkhazia! Pleasant, friendly staff, close to the sea. The room was clean and cozy. The linen was changed on time. The food (buffet) is delicious and varied, fresh and appetizing. There were fruits and desserts. The coffee machine is only available for breakfast. The on-site swimming pool is clean. The rooms have a split system. There are no complaints about sound insulation, but we lived on the opposite side of the noisy cafe, which is next door. Animators are working, my daughter and I (4 years old) liked the entertainment program. At the hotel, you can call a taxi or book an excursion and go wherever you want (besides excursions, there is something to see, for example Mount Mamzyshka or just the countryside – we managed this thanks to the photographer at the photo shoot, however, this does not apply to the review).
The beach is pretty clean, but you will not escape from rotavirus in more than one place on the coast, be ready to shift your vacation schedule for a couple of days if anything (and no antiviral drugs are needed. If adults suffer from diarrhea, loperamide + rehydration is possible, if children – wait until it passes, you do not need anything except ibuprofen or paracetamol + drink if the temperature is high). The problem is not in the coolers, but in the general level of sanitation. My wife and child ate corn and got sick, I did not eat and did not get sick, but perhaps the point is different: any child always touches everything and then puts his fingers in his mouth, and you can already get infected from a child: the virus breeds actively and lives on surfaces for several days.. Sorry for the professional advice.
The disadvantage is the neighborhood of a noisy cafe, but if you need a quiet rest, go to Pitsunda. I'm not sure if there is such a comfortable hotel there, but it will be quieter and less crowded. On the beach, jet skis can taxi directly to the shore and offer walks, this is not particularly pleasant. The beach is rocky, the water for washing the shower on the beach itself is icy.
I have not seen hotels above 4 stars, I have been to different countries and, in my opinion, this is a very good hotel, except for the noisy neighborhood (perhaps this is a plus for someone).

We had a rest in January 2022. A modern hotel, everything is quite decent. The staff is disciplined, they try their best. The food is delicious. The location is good. The only thing I didn't like was the mattress on the bed (this is the first time with me), the feeling that it was watery. If the wife turns on her side in a dream, then there is a "wave" all over the bed and so on all night. This is despite the fact that she is a slender woman. I'm afraid to think about the tsunami that I started when I turned in my sleep. Otherwise, everything is decent, taking into account that this is Abkhazia and it is only being rebuilt. The people are friendly and friendly. We will definitely come back here in the summer.

A wonderful hotel! We had a rest in early February (06-16 February) 2022. The hotel is brand new, everything is stylish, clean, cozy and sooo delicious! I was pleasantly pleased with the warm pool outside, especially at +7 on the street), my son and husband can't get out of there. I was very pleased with the attitude of the staff and the management of the hotel to my request to decorate the restaurant in honor of Valentine's Day and create a romantic atmosphere for all the guests, although there were very few of us there. A great hotel on the first line of the sea. 6 floors for living and a basement. All rooms have sea and mountain views at the same time. The best rooms end at 5 and 6. The buffet is hearty, there is always an assortment of meat and vegetables. There is no grill. There is a budget bar and at dinner they offer wine as part of a buffet. There is a tea station in the room, and water coolers are installed on the floors. The family rooms have carpeted floors, and the standards have tiles. Ashtrays are installed on the balconies for smokers, smoking is prohibited on site (except balconies). There is a children's room with an animator, live music in the restaurant in the evening, there is no disco. The pool is heated and deep - you can't buy without armbands with children. There is indeed a very popular cafe opposite the hotel with loud music for up to 24 hours - but on the contrary, it adds flavor. There is a grocery store next to the hotel with everything you need at Moscow prices. We will be happy to return to the A.V. Sokol once again. (January 2022)

A great new hotel. The sea is within walking distance, there is a private beach with an umbrella, sun loungers. The room is cleaned every day, there is always black green tea and sugar in the room. A comfortable bed. Gorgeous view from the balcony to the sea and mountains. Friendly staff, always responds to requests. There is a heated swimming pool. The menu selection is huge, everything is fresh and delicious. There is one drawback-this animation is a boring sight. I recommend it for a visit.

The pool is large and the water is warm. For kids, there is a children's frame pool nearby. There is also a separate room for children, where animators conduct classes and games. But in some contests by the pool it will be interesting to play even for adults)
The food is sooo delicious: for breakfast there are cereals, porridges, omelets, sausages, cheesecakes, casseroles; for lunch and dinner there is always a large selection of hot, for lunch there are soups, many different salads and snacks. Everyone will find something to their liking) for dinner, you can also take wine, often live music. There is a bar, but we have never gone there.
Rooms are cleaned every day, linen is changed every 3 days. The cleaning girls are also very responsive and attentive.
The rooms are insanely cozy. Each room has a balcony. And the view from this balcony... It's just incredible. But if you have windows facing the street instead of the courtyard, you will need to close the windows: right in front of 3 resto-bars, from which music is playing very loudly. But the windows in the hotel are good and the noise reduction is excellent 👍
The only "but" were the excursions that can be bought at the reception. Because what was described in the booklet and what happened in the end are generally two different worlds. If it says "optional", then it is not optional, it is necessarily an additional fee. And half of the places described there are not really involved and instead you will go to other places. On the first tour, we were very unlucky with the guide, we came across an absolute inadequate boor shouting at the girls on our bus. And the "air-conditioned bus" turned out to be a minibus with ventilation leaking from condensate on our backs. In our second trip, we had an excellent guide, an excellent driver, a large and really comfortable bus. Although there was another marshurt again, we were very satisfied. It is necessary to make a reservation that these excursions are not conducted by the hotel's personal company, but by a third-party organization.

We vacationed here as a couple in April 2022. An excellent not very large hotel, actually on the 1st line by the sea. The hotel is open in the summer of 2021, the rooms look great, very cozy. Delicious varied buffet-style meals - you will not stay hungry. A heated swimming pool with sun beds on site is exactly what you need after a long day of walking. Excellent staff with a desire to help even with the most minor requests. This is one of the best options in Gagra today.

I am sooo happy with my stay at this hotel. We had a vacation with a guy in May 2022. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent (everything is very, very tasty and varied). We had breakfast +dinner. There is always red and white wine for dinner.
I would also like to mention the cleaning of the rooms - they were always cleaned regularly and cleanly. Towels and bed linen were changed once in 9 days. The hotel is located almost on the embankment, that is, 1 line. There are free sun beds on the beach from the hotel.
With all these advantages, I will still highlight a bold minus, which slightly spoiled the impression: there are 2 cafes opposite the hotel. So the music in them screams from 18:00 to 00:00-01:00. She screams so hard that even with the windows closed, there is a feeling that the speakers are in the room itself. I can't even hear the TV. We couldn't sleep and went to bed only after 00:00. Therefore, if you are traveling with children or the elderly, consider this point and ask for a room with windows on the opposite side of the cafe.

I blunted a little how to enter the hotel - the fence, the gate, but they saw us and opened it.
We were warmly and kindly welcomed at the reception. They were quickly issued. They were escorted to the room. Everything is so good and not cheap. There is a very soft carpet on the floor. Cool elevators. The room is spacious and clean with a double bed and a sofa bed. Opposite, the euro-type dining room and the Pearl cafe are so Abkhazian.
Opposite is the Grand Gagra Hotel, which is simply huge. It seems to me that in the summer, when all Sokolov and Grand go to the beach, I won't be able to fit there anymore)
On January 6th, I swam in a heated pool under a downpour. It was unusual and great. I had a bathrobe and slippers from the hotel.
There is only a shower in the bathroom. Pasta, brushes and lots of towels.
The most luxurious buffet breakfast from the interior and abundance. Just well done. Bravo! It's delicious and that's it.
A room for children.
One of the disadvantages was that it was impossible to watch TV, it was constantly stupid.

the hotel is not bad, probably the best in Abkhazia, we were in the summer at the height of the season , there were no problems with water (in other hotels you can sit for days without water ) . There is not a bad beach at the hotel nearby, minus just motorboats floating nearby (banana rides , jet skis, etc. ) , but they have not heard about safety in Abkhazia , they can drive carefully over the head.
The rooms are good, but for some reason the door in the toilet did not lock (in our room and in the next room with friends, a strange coincidence)). The territory of the hotel is closed , nice , lots of greenery , a swimming pool , a playground.
In the evening, the animator entertains the people ( if you can call him that , zero work experience , the column is terrible , it barely works , the music is also not ice, everyone's collective farm )
I didn 't like it the most ! The hotel does not provide toothpaste and a brush! At a cost of 14 thousand per day , it just killed .

We were in August 2021. It's a nice place. By the standards of Gagra, it is generally 6 stars. The interiors are all comfortable and pretty, everything is very new. Most of the rooms have a view of the sea and very picturesque mountains. The all-inclusive meals are quite varied, everything is delicious. There are a lot of fruits and vegetables, for lunch and dinner there are always several meat options and at least one fish. The staff at the restaurant is friendly, although not without local peculiarities (not very efficient)). Room cleaning is of high quality. The location is on the seashore, along which there is a promenade, with bustling life both day and night. By the way, this may turn out to be a disadvantage for those who do not like loud music after dinner - there are many restaurants on the promenade where it plays at full power up to 24 hours. One, perhaps the loudest, is right next to the hotel. But since the music didn't bother us, it didn't become a minus for us, and the barbecue in it was very tasty. We liked it.

Of the nuances not related to the hotel:
- rotovirus, it is difficult to avoid, we were covered on the 7th day…;
-noise from the nearest eateries (I won't call it anything else, an institution that respects its visitors does not turn on music like that);

- mosquitoes;
-in good weather, jet skis and all sorts of boats with excursions are carried around in the bathing area, spontaneously mooring to the shore;
