Excellent location, good breakfasts, spacious halls, wonderful staff. Unfortunately, the hotel was built in the 70s according to those standards, so there are small bathrooms and low ceilings, weak sound insulation. But a good view from the window.

The city center, near the metro. The room stock is old, boring and sad, but if you spend the night cleanly, or a business trip, it doesn't matter. There is a parking lot. There's a restaurant downstairs. The breakfasts were not impressive. A clean cup of coffee with scrambled eggs.
Such an old Soviet hotel = Chernihiv in the center of Bryansk. I want something more modern. The staff is friendly. There is no negativity.

The room is in a modern style, the location is excellent, the very center, gorgeous fountains at the entrance, service and staff are on the level, breakfasts are very varied, everything is delicious. Only at night it is better to close the doors with a latch, otherwise the plumber may accidentally make a wrong number at one o'clock in the morning)

The Almaty Hotel is a landmark of the city, dating back to the 60s. The hotel is located in a convenient location. There is a long pedestrian Pamfilov street nearby. The view from the window is wonderful (I was lucky), the rooms have balconies, even more lucky.

Good breakfasts. Two new elevators. In winter, you realize that it is not adapted to the cold, one radiator per room, a heater can be given (it's useless, everything comes quickly). You can go to the bathroom 10-15 minutes after turning on the hot water, otherwise you can freeze. It's gorgeous in the summer, the air conditioning in the rooms.

Subjectively, I want to spread it! But I will be objective. She lived on the 5th floor.
In general, the hotel is normal, on a solid 3, maybe 3.5. The rooms are tired, with defects (torn handles, burnt curtains, chipped furniture), but this does not affect life in any way.
Advantages: location, price, wifi, daily cleaning, water/tea/coffee, beautiful view from the window.
Cons: blockage in the bathroom; the hair dryer blows only cold air; the kettle has a problem with wiring; repairs on the 3rd floor, so that the puncher will be heard from morning to night; if you order food in the room, you will be cheated; massage is unpleasant, sick and traumatic, in the end I was hit in the stomach for some reason (perhaps just a bad master got caught), requests to be more careful were ignored; there is no travel agency in the hotel (as stated on the website) - they will just give you a phone number, call there yourself, come to them; there is little they can do at the reception.
If you just need to spend the night, then you can stop by. If you want a comfortable stay, I do not recommend it.

I remember the hotel since 1965. Lived nearby. It was the tallest building in Almaty, but also the most prestigious place in the city. Foreigners stayed there, there was a foreign exchange store and the city was really proud of this beautiful building. Now, after the renovation, she is reviving traditions. It seems that there is a very responsible management there who wants to succeed in competing with new, prestigious hotels built in the Western manner. But, strangely enough, freely or not, the hotel still has its own face, which differs from both new and Soviet ones, such as Kazakhstan, for example. The succession of times is correct.

An old hotel. The rooms (even though they have been restored) smell old and musty. A terrible little elevator that you have to wait for several minutes (a multi-storey hotel). In the middle of the day (it was from July 13 to 14, 2023), the hot water was turned off throughout the hotel. It was 40 degrees outside and coming to the room with a desire to take a shower, it did not work out. I was heating water in a kettle. The reception is deceived that there is no water in the whole city, although this is not the case. In general, the hotel is for an amateur, I will not stay here anymore. I give 2 stars only for the super location in the very center (located on the pedestrian Panfilov street) and a beautiful view of the mountains, if you are lucky with the room.

There is no room for one in the photo. It is about 11 sq. m. Smoky, some kind of musty stench, the mixer jams, old carpet, everything is old, yellow walls, a cabin with a knee-high side, you can't climb in with a sore knee, there is nowhere to put a tube in the booth, there is no dispenser with liquid soap. In a niche with a hanger on the floor there is a uniform and a laundry bag. Convenient for the elderly. Thanks for not on the ceiling. There is a small 0.5 liter of water in the room, the minibar clicks. Outside the window at 2 a.m. you can hear laughter, music and the hum of cars, only the child stopped running on the floor above. The ironing room is on the 6th floor. They don't smile at the counter. Apparently, the guests are not very welcome.

A creepy old, not modern hotel. Water was supplied to the room only after contacting the reception. Before that, they said that it was "not allowed", at night the staff barged into my room (!) confusing it with the next one, where it was necessary to check the mini-bar after the departure of the guests. The repair is 30 years old. By the way, some rooms are still being renovated. And in the daytime, from 9 a.m., they drill and saw non-stop. The breakfast is moderately varied, but absolutely everything is tasteless. The photos on the Booking and the website do not correspond to reality.
