For some reason, excursions to the cave do not include climbing the tower. And this is no less interesting place. I don't want to go down such beautiful views! There is a sale of entrance tickets at the entrance, I thought another withdrawal of money, but I saw how well the territory is maintained. I recommend walking at a quiet pace without hurrying and you will not notice the rise.

I really liked it! The guide told the story of this historic place for free. High above sea level, it's hard to walk from the ticket office, but it's worth it. Wonderful landscapes open up to the sea, sky, forests. The photos are amazing.

A magical place! Imagine: the citadel is located on the top of the Iversky mountain - you need to climb to a height of 350 meters from the sea (a convenient terrain!). In the mountain itself there are caves of such size that the entire population of Abkhazia can fit! And so, climbing to the top of the mountain, what do you see: at the side wall of the temple there is an "inexhaustible well"! The spring! At the top of the mountain!!! In most cases, springs are found on the slopes or at the foot of the mountains. And this water (by the way, it's DELICIOUS!) It's bursting at the top!
If you believe the Abkhazians, then once the Argonauts came here for the golden Fleece...

It is better to travel part of the way from the center of Mount Athos by taxi for 200 rubles, then on foot along an inconvenient road there and back about 6 km. Among the disadvantages - some sections of the walking road need to be fenced, very dangerous cliffs. And you get tired, the road is rocky. In general, Abkhazia is a heavenly place😍⛱️🌴🌅
