Vacation in February 2024. Solid four stars according to the hotel system. The rooms are better on the 4th and 5th floors. The sea is 10 meters from the pool. There is a lot of water in the rooms, a full refrigerator, but in the restaurant - for a fee.
The rooms are cleaned every day. Tips were left for 3-5 derham. There is a bus to Dubai Mall every day, you just need to sign up through the hotel's app, because places are limited. If the guide advises a free trip to the shops with gold and furs - do not try, in those stores they persistently demand to buy something at inflated prices. The hotel accepts Union Pay cards from Gazprombank. The exchange rate is best in the Deira City Center (hypermarket) Wall Street exchanger on the 1st floor. Overall, the hotel is good. In general, for a holiday in the UAE, you need to take a suitcase of money, or preferably two suitcases.

I'll probably start with the fact that the tour operator recommended the trip to us for 2 years, saying that the service, food, hotel, in general, EVERYTHING is at the highest level. That's why we were driving in anticipation of a fairy tale!
And now, in order, I will tell you about the TRUTH that we faced.
Upon arrival, we began to look for our tour operator. Our manager informed us that this is a Space travel. There was no such sign anywhere when leaving the airport. We started going from one bunch of people to another, looking for our operator. Thank God we found two young people, one had a list of arrivals, and the other handed out memos indicating the hotel to which we would be taken. And on this memo there was a completely different hotel, and not the one that we had booked. We started to figure it out...No one knows anything, everyone is playing pin-pong. After 30 minutes, something cleared up and we were still brought to our hotel! Hooray (we thought)!
We checked into the room and almost got a heart attack with my husband for two:plumbing and tiles are all covered in fungus and rust, the cabinet doors were skewed so that they stopped closing and opening for a long time, the door to the closet, where the mini-bar refrigerator was located, scraped on the floor, the side shelf fell out, when opening the refrigerator door, the light in the room is such that if you turn on all the lighting, no matter You can't see a damn thing. But the highlight of this issue was in the form of living creatures, or rather a 3 cm cockroach (unfortunately, Yandex does not allow you to post his photo)!
The room was changed after we promised to bring it to the reception. As an apology, fruit was brought to us...but they did not correct the mood and the emotions received from the 4-star hotel in any way. Although after reading the reviews about the hotel, I am very glad that it was a cockroach, not a rat!
Food. This is a meager, repetitive buffet from day to day, in which it seems that what is not finished for breakfast turns into a salad for lunch, what is not finished at lunch smoothly flows into dishes for dinner. There was only one type of seafood (in principle, for which we were traveling), cooked in different versions. The fruits have always been apples, melon, watermelon and orange. The only thank you to them is that every day there were porridges with which to feed the child!
The sea and the beach. Since we were with a child, the beach and the sea are the best thing for children. Sand, smooth and shallow approach. We were there from March 20th to the beginning of April. The sea was cold, it was not comfortable to go in, out of 13 days, there was a storm for 6 days and swimming was forbidden. The air temperature was from 25 to 30 degrees. The sun is hard here, even at this temperature, so the cream was smeared all the time!
From entertainment, there are animators for charging, there is a children's room, but there is little entertainment in it, there is billiards, but it is difficult to play, since one ball is lost, and the chalk for the cue looks like a stub...Perhaps that's all.
I really want to see these people who write such rave reviews about the hotel, the service, the food here! Are you serious about this? Is this your first trip abroad?! Your reviews are untrue and misleading. This hotel matches the weak three.

A real Spanish foursome. And not because Barcelo bought this hotel not so long ago, but because there is a vacation in Spain in my memory, even back in 1996. A welcome bowl of fruits, a message about the time of transfer from the hotel is not on the lists at the reception, but to the room on the letterhead, the unstressed smiles of the staff, delicious homemade food - all this is evidence of the powerful school of management of the Spanish chain of hotels, which every employee goes through.
Food.
We had half board. It's perfect for us - I wanted to eat a little for breakfast and dinner. The assortment is not like in Turkey in the top five, but every dish was delicious, you can even say it in a restaurant way.
Sea.
In terms of beauty - number two after the Maldives, in terms of convenience - number one!

I only give 3 stars, because I don't understand what the 4th is for. I once wrote a negative review about the Olymp Hotel in Kazan, it's the same story here. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo, but I'll share my impressions anyway. The room stock is old, the carpet in the corridors is faded, the tiles in the sanitary units are coming off even despite tons of sealant, the outlets of the taps in the shower are rusty, and the rust layer is decent, apparently for a long time. The request was for a room above the 1st floor with a sea view, the hotel responded that such rooms were available and eventually settled us on the 1st floor with a view of the pool, people lying in sun beds by the pool could perfectly view our room if the curtains were open. The floor is even triple, but due to the irregularities of the relief, it is located below the main building, lobby and pool area, as if going down, you find yourself in a corridor that stinks terribly of dampness and basement, and then in the same damp room. Sleeping in this room without an open balcony is not realistic, the dampness is directly felt. Upon arrival home, I brought a suitcase of damp, basement-smelling things. When asked to change the room, they simply "fed breakfast", to the question: "how did it happen that the reservation was for a room above the 1st floor, and eventually settled on -1?" they replied that they did not know which rooms would be available until the day of check-in, the question is how so?! And if nothing had been released, would we have been offered to settle on the sun loungers by the pool? The second question that arose is the lack of soap in the shared toilet, how is that? Here I am walking from the beach for lunch, to wash my hands I need to go to the room, this is the first time I have come across this. Upon check-in: we arrived first, we were the last to be settled, we stayed in the lobby until 16.00, although check-in is at 15.00. In general, we were not satisfied with the work of the reception. The rest of the staff is positive, sociable, towels were changed every day, the bed was made perfectly, the floors were washed, although in the semi-darkness of the room it was not clear how high quality. We paid for full board, the menu is not bad, fish, meat, vegetables, everyone can find something to their liking. There were plenty of sweets and fruits too. Drinks are included only in breakfast, for lunch and dinner, water can either be brought from the room or bought here in the restaurant. A rest area without complaints, a heated swimming pool, a warm Jacuzzi, there is even a water slide, the beach line is clean, 2 lifeguards are constantly on duty, one on the beach, the second by the pool, animators work hard: yoga, bachata, aqua aerobics and other activities. In general, we concluded for ourselves that we no longer set foot in the hotels of the Spanish company Barcelos.

Desserts remained at the same level, very tasty.

We rested for the first time in this hotel a long time ago, when it was still just a Grand. Then everything was fine, even the old repairs and noisy air conditioning did not react much. Now we decided to go for old times' sake, especially since we thought that the hotel was renovated. Bought into a bunch of positive reviews. But the impressions are not particularly. Check-out from the room at 12h, check-in at 15h. If you arrived earlier than 15h, then even though they promise to check in early, this does not happen, it's good if they check in at all at 15h. We saw how Russian tourists swore at 15 hours 15 minutes, who had been sitting at the reception for three hours. The deposit and passports are not taken. There is no minibar. There is also no carpet in the rooms, laminate flooring. There are terry bathrobes and disposable slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, cotton swabs, a shower cap, a shaving machine, cotton pads. The rooms are shitty: the plumbing is killed, the tiles in the bathroom are beaten off in places, the sewer is forgotten, the water in the bathroom that goes to the toilet with difficulty, the toilet button the child himself will not be able to press-very tight. The sockets are all broken. There are several Russian channels on TV. All rooms have balconies, but there is nowhere to hang swimwear to dry, they hung it on the backs of chairs. Rooms with a view of the city are very noisy, cars, including trucks, pass often and around the clock. There is some unpleasant smell in the room, either mustiness, or some kind of cleaning agent is used. Rooms are cleaned very slowly, you can leave at 7 in the morning and hang up the Cleaning sign, come at 14 o'clock - no one thought to clean anything. The hotel is crowded, mostly Russians. Sunbeds on the beach are engaged in the early morning, the beach opens at 6-30, at 6 am the queue for the exit to the beach already begins. People come, throw a towel or personal belongings on the sunbed and leave. And so it is all day: the sunbeds are busy, there are few people. The beach itself is big, but this occupation of sunbeds negates its dignity. The hotel administration does not react to this in any way, there is not even an elementary sign so that the sun beds are not occupied. There are a number of sun beds without umbrellas - also such a pleasure, so they hang out in the shade under stationary umbrellas and it turns out a bunch of small: it's like you're under an umbrella, but the sun has shifted, and you have nowhere to move - there are only sunbeds everywhere. Annoying flies on the beach got bored in the morning, this has never happened before. There are a lot of cats in the hotel now-they live on the beach and near the pool. In a corner on the beach, a feeder-type house is made for them and it is allowed to feed them there, but most tourists feed them everywhere. Cats look sick, with some sores like lichens. But the worst thing is that they go to the toilet on the beach in the sand under the sunbeds or they can pile a bunch right on the sidewalk. And the hotel administration does not care about this fact at all. There is a corresponding stench near the most shitty places. Near the pool there is music all day, which is perfectly audible on the beach. They don't really bother to do it faster, as well as to clean the table after those who have already eaten. They can remove the table, but not put the appliances. Tea / coffee (from the coffee machine, including), everyone comes and pours himself, 3-4 people turn to the coffee machine too. Porridge one day is oatmeal, one is semolina, the third is rice, there is no bacon, baking-two types of croissants and one type of cupcake and buns-only 4 types of baking.From vegetables, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, salads-greens. I was surprised that neither for breakfast nor for lunch / dinner there is no elementary grated cheese. For breakfast, there are two types of tasteless sausage, cheese, cream cheese, maasdam and another type of hard cheese, boiled buckwheat, pasta in tasteless cream sauce or tomato, sausages cut into halves, boiled eggs, some kind of mash with beans, potatoes of the rustic type. Fruits for breakfast/lunch only watermelon, melon and oranges. For comparison, in the neighboring three-piece for breakfast, pineapples and papaya are always a plus. From juices for breakfast: mix, orange, mango, apple. For lunch / dinner, all drinks are paid, prices are the same everywhere, but the waiters themselves do not approach the tables, you have to go buy yourself. Lunch or dinner is very meager and not particularly tasty. No seafood, except for one kind of fish - they call it Mexican, in our kind of marine language-boneless, with a specific smell, and this fish is mostly in batter for all lunches and dinners, and breakfast too. A separate story with transfers: to the nearest shopping centers, transfer by minibuses provided by the shopping centers themselves, tourists are picked up from the Grand according to the schedule, this is the second hotel from which they are picked up, if a lot of people are coming from the neighboring treshka, then you can not get on the bus-there are simply no seats. The Sahara shopping center is decent, big, you can go once. But as for the trip to Dubai Mall, it is carried out once a day-this is a separate song, it is carried out only through booking in advance, through an application that you need to download to your phone. And it's really possible to sign up only at 00-00 hours for three days ahead!! Although, as it turned out, people book and then do not come to the bus, once there were 9 empty seats. If you haven't signed up, you can come up to the time and if there are free seats, then you can go. Before going to the beach there is a dressing room, there is a shower, benches, who are picked up late before departure, it is convenient to use and spend the day on the beach, and not sit at the reception. There is no desire to return to this hotel, there are other hotels in the Emirates that are both better and cheaper.

Nice staff. Everything is very nice and clean. We had a rest with my son for only one week, but I really liked it. The beach and the ocean are similar to the Cuban ones, but they fall a little short! But the hotel gets its 5 stars!

She starts telling me that our tour operator agreed to her offer to settle us in a cabana. It is clear that our tour operator is shocked by this. As a result, after the scandal, we were moved into our booked city view. By the way, there are plenty of rooms available. Both city view and sea view . Yesterday, the management of the hotel chain came to check. I wrote a complaint to them, Let them deal with a manager like Kristina! All correspondence with her is there. It won't work out.
