Briefly about the hotel: there is no assortment at all: soup of 1-2 types (not tasty), the side dish is usually cold pasta and buckwheat, the gravy is always spicy, stuffed pepper, and everything is hot! The problem is to feed the child: either spicy or not tasty - there is no third option. Of the greens, cucumbers are not always, there is NO tomato at all, grass, and a hodgepodge (like olivier). Table of sweets - cookies, cakes and bagels (3 types of difficulty maximum). Fruits are either bananas or kiwis or cherries. There is no animation!!! The children's area with swings is a shame, designed for three children. The beach is normal: sun beds and umbrellas, there are places. The pebbles are tin, no one can walk there. There is a breakwater in the sea, a frightening fact. The territory is simply not there. There's nowhere else to go. In general, no. I will not advise you. We've been to Aitar before (I never thought I'd recommend it, but even it's better)! In general, go to the Boxwood grove!)

The hotel staff say that this is the norm for the Black Sea coast , although the paragraphs themselves are not from the hotel saying that they do not have such a virus. Because of this virus, holidays with children are ruined. A fine of 500 rubles was charged for the loss of a plastic card from the room . This is one of the disadvantages . Nice hotel. We were in a standard room with a balcony and a "side" view of the sea and mountains, which, of course, is a trick, you can only see them by leaning out from the balcony, which also does not make much sense if your room faces the street. Among the advantages: spacious rooms with everything you need (kettle, set of dishes (without appliances), refrigerator and even a corkscrew), a full set of towels, even separate ones for the beach, there is an umbrella and a shoe horn. In the bathroom there is soap at the sink and shower, there are cotton pads and sticks, a hair dryer. A wide double bed (at least 1.80 m), a comfortable mattress, which cannot be said about pillows. The maid girls clean perfectly, are very polite and friendly, always ready to help. There are two outdoor pools and one small one in the SPA. Private beach with sun beds, umbrellas, shower and changing cabins. There is even an entertainment center with bowling and billiards.
Of the cons: The Wi-Fi is not stable, it catches well in the room only when the guests go to the beach, eating or sleeping, the rest of the hotel is good. If the windows of the room overlook the street, then until 12 o'clock you will be provided with a music session from a cafe on the embankment flavored with barbecue flavors. The food in the Hemingway restaurant, you will not stay hungry, but without frills, the level of the dining room, while the assortment is wide. Not all rooms have drying facilities for towels and swimsuits.
In general, the rest was a success. If possible, we will definitely return, we liked the hotel, the country is beautiful.

This is not a doctor - this is a MANAGER who deals with local procedures for an additional fee.
We solved our problem on our own by contacting the local hospital, since it is opposite the hotel. Of course, it's like "back to the past", for 150 years, but the doctors are great. Everything passed in 3 days.
2. We managed to live in all buildings, in building 1 (the so-called "old" and "new" building 2)
There is no Internet in the 1st building from the word at all !!!!

I had a rest at the hotel on 11.09 - 25.09. I have been traveling to Abkhazia periodically for 40 years. It gets worse and worse every time. Rotavirus is rampant, everyone is sick from young to old. The border can be crossed for 2-3 hours. The contingent of vacationers is getting worse and worse, not much has been done in Gagra, the infrastructure is in decline, with the exception of small hotels that grow like mushrooms in every vacant place, adjacent to the ruins left after the war. The cafe cooks worse and there is loud music everywhere, a mixture of chanson and Caucasian rap. Alex is the only outlet that allowed you to get a rest to the end and not leave earlier. And above all, the staff! Everyone, the girls at the reception, the maid on the floor, the staff in the dining room (it's hard to call it a restaurant), everyone is welcoming, friendly, sincerely want to help. The disadvantage of this hotel is that it is located among the urban Abkhazian jungles, i.e. private households around it, next to it, adjacent to it. Plus, the main, central street is 50 meters away from it. What does it mean? Let me explain. "Hospitable" Abkhazians start cooking from morning until late at night. So cordially, vividly, thoughtfully, persistently and cook a lot that the flavors, intertwining with each other, penetrate into the most remote corners of the hotel, including the rooms. For the first few days, it even pleases you somewhere, but after that, these smells begin to penetrate your subtle nature confidently and obsessively. As one Abkhazian guide said, "Stalin did not like the smell of cooking food, so they brought it to his Ricin cottage ready-made." Now I really understand him. I remember the particularly corrosive smell of the local delicacy - smoked pork.
What else. WiFi was also very bad in the room. The room was promised "with a side view of the sea." In fact, to see the sea from the side, you had to go out on a small balcony and lean heavily through the balcony fence, then a piece of the sea was really visible)) Otherwise, the hotel is not bad. The staff on the floor, at the reception and some of the waiters were friendly. The room is good (freshly renovated), but it would not hurt to make a partition 20-30 cm longer in the bathroom, then the water would not create a trout dam around the toilet every time, along which you can let white paper boats. There are two pools, with fresh and sea water. The children liked it very much with fresh water. There was no crowd of people anywhere - neither at the pools, nor in the restaurant, nor on the beach (there were always enough sun loungers and umbrellas and they were available at any time). The territory is clean, there is a pump room with a min.with water on the territory. The security is not intrusive, inconspicuous. The "Tour desk" (Amra96), which is at the hotel, I advise you not to use it. Twice I bought vouchers there and twice I was very disappointed, both with the excursions themselves and with the service - the transport is broken down, there is absolutely no sincerity in the service, everything is quite commercialized, a lot of incomprehensible prohibitions (don't go here, don't go there, everyone leave the bus, everyone get on the bus, you have 10 minutes, you have 2 minutes, 5 minutes, you only need to eat here, everything is bad for the rest, etc.). Since I used only one bureau, I can be subjective, maybe other companies have such a service, maybe not, maybe there is better or worse, or all the same. Have a good rest, everyone.

We arrived from Abkhazia. If in the 19th century the hotel was still at a high level, now it is a beautiful package with good reviews from previous years, nothing more. I do not recommend this hotel. It was not the first year in Abkhazia, and every day we remembered the hotel where we lived last year. Upon arrival, the receptionist didn't really tell me anything, only how to get to the cafe.
Among the advantages: the hotel is located on the first line, a small territory, swimming pools, sun loungers by the pools and on the beach.
Externally, the building is pleasant. The room is spacious (1 building). Cleaning is regular, for which thanks to the cleaner Elena. Clean towels every day.
For extra money, you can go to the spa. The massage is done well.
Minuses :
1. The room. There is only one chair on the balcony, there is no dryer. When I asked for a dryer, they told me that we were not supposed to, you have a heated towel rail in the toilet. Yes, he is, but at best you can hang underpants with socks on him. And yes, it leaves rusty traces!!! Therefore, many neighbors bought a clothesline at the store and tied it on the balcony.
2. WiFi. There are regular problems in building 1, I rarely caught them in the rooms, and I didn't always manage to make a call in the corridor.
3. The restaurant. Of course, this place cannot be called a restaurant, it's just a dining room. The food is poor. The choice is minimal. What you didn't eat for breakfast, the same will happen at lunch. Left after lunch, roulette for dinner. And so it is every day! Sometimes there was a new meal, but a decent amount of spices were added to it. They concluded that they should no longer put food on their plates.
We haven't had dinner at this cafe in the last week. There is nothing to eat there and the child was crying and saying that he would not eat there.
4. The Roto virus. On the 3rd day, my family came down with a virus, as did the whole hotel. This is one of the main problems of this place. 2 buildings hurt, literally everything. We can safely say an epidemic. The administration turns a blind eye to this and pretends that there is nothing.
5. The beach. Its own, there are sun loungers. There is no cleaning of the beach, you can find a lot of interesting things, including syringes. When you walk, look at your feet. There were days when the public beach was already working in full measure in the morning, and our deck chairs were strapped in a stack. We probably don't need to.
There are breakwaters in the sea that cause discomfort when swimming.
6. Animation. It's a shame, comrades. We went 2 times, we did not meet such an outrage.
And it's 4 stars for decent money!
The two buildings of this hotel did not understand what such a price was for.

Since the NG hotel was 100% full, the meal time was allocated by floor - two stages of 45 minutes each! This is a tin! Come to the restoran and look at the clock! It is necessary to have time to eat in 45 minutes of the allotted time! And if he was also delayed.. Special attention should be paid to the food itself! The room has a kettle, refrigerator, corkscrew, cups, bathrobes, slippers, towels, two large and two small for each. Cleaning for five! There is a balcony where you can smoke. In addition to tulle and curtains, there are blackout curtains. We rested in room 206, sunny side, curtains at night protected from lanterns, in the morning from the sun. In general, everything is thought out in the room. The staff is friendly and ready to help. The breakfast buffet is modest, but we had enough. I think the buffet is completely different in season. I will describe only what you may encounter and will be unpleasantly surprised: breakfasts are on the verge of meager madness. Pasta, sausages, raw grated carrots or beets, sea cabbage. Cottage cheese casserole, omelette, boiled eggs. A plate of greens, the essence of sliced boiled sausage, cheese. Only the hot milk changed: semolina, oatmeal, milk soup. And so it is every day, for a whole week!!!!! We booked in December, we were told that there are favorable prices, because in advance. When we found out on the website before arriving in April that there was a special offer for the birthday boy, we contacted the oiel through the website, they told us that the prices were in winter and now, if recalculated, it would be unprofitable for us, because prices have already increased a couple of times. As a result, when extending on the spot (we could not leave because of the tickets), the girl told us at the reception that she would extend at expensive, NEW prices and this turns out to be the price at which we booked in December!!!! When they started to find out, the rnis just froze off and said that this was their Moscow booking, and if it were through the hotel directly, it would be cheaper! But we booked from a direct website!!!! Upon departure, we ran into an elderly couple who arrived at 3 a.m., they had an agreement on early check-in, and they stayed in the lobby until 10 a.m.!!They provided all correspondence, recordings of conversations, but the administrator, as well as us, told us that they were not aware, this was the Moscow booking office, and they had nothing to do with it! These poor people, you should have seen them!!! Despite the fact that they had an 11-hour flight. Probably, the hotel got rich on our discount and the crazy fatigue of these people!!!
