We lived in the second building on the 2nd floor. Sea view. The first line. The sunset was watched directly from the room. A new, clean, modern room. It feels like we are the first tenants in it. Towels are changed and the room is cleaned every day. Clean bottled water every day. Even the cups were changed after drinking tea. The snow-white bed linen is changed every 4 days, at our request it was changed two days later. The bed size is 180 cm wide!!! Air conditioning and air purification even in the corridors. The price includes a Finnish sauna, access to three swimming pools. For an additional fee.A beautiful hammam can be rented for a fee. Buffet breakfasts are included in the price. The food is very tasty and fresh. A wonderful stay in such a hotel, one of the hotels where I would love to return again.

This hotel turned out to be an unexpected pleasant surprise for me. The girls at the reception are attentive, they do everything quickly and professionally. We rested at the hotel twice, both times in November in different years. I will not compare it with other hotels, I will evaluate it separately.
One of the advantages is a very cool location, on the shore of the sea. There are three pools that are not very cold, around 23 degrees (although they write 26). They are very clean. The room has a balcony. There is free sauna time, and a font in the building.
Of the cons. I'll bring breakfast and other meals here. They're not exactly bad, and they're not exactly good. Monotonous and some not tasty. But what will you find to eat. In the dining room will have to stand in line)) there are not enough places for everyone and everyone is in a hurry to come the very first, because then the range of food is smaller. So also the cafe administrator can ask you to sip tea and ... a cockroach was seen in the room. And probably the biggest minus is that out of my company of 4 people, three feel the symptoms of poisoning or rotovirus! I can't say that the hotel is to blame, but we are all united by the food in the hotel and the water from the room. There are warnings about rotovirus all around and there are even medical offices. The service is 4. The food is not the most varied, but it is always delicious and satisfying. Here you will not find a buffet with a choice of dozens of dishes for the first and second. The spa center is wonderful, with problems and pains in any part of the body, it's right at the address. The audibility of the neighbors in the rooms is generally quite loud, but within acceptable limits. Wi-fi catches in the room, let's face it, not everywhere, the closer to the door the better and more stable the signal)) The beach is within walking distance, pebbly, the stones are large, they warm up with a bang. Two pools, one with fresh water, the second with salt water, both heated. Not the biggest, but in general there is enough space not to jostle in the water and swim normally if you suddenly do not want to go to the sea. In general, I advise you to visit if you do not have a subconscious craving for luxury and expectations from expensive 5* hotels in well-equipped resorts.

They take half a day for tastings, the bus is old with clips, they give 30 minutes to new Athos from just the whole day. Do not buy alcohol at the store around the corner. And generally be careful. Great hotel! The service is excellent. I had to apply and any issue was resolved immediately. The room is clean. Good bed linen. The pools are wonderful!! You can order food directly to the pool. I really liked the water treatments (charcot shower, underwater massage) . Polite staff. The buffet.... not Turkey, of course, but.... We weren't hungry. Modest, but delicious! There are sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach, everything is in good condition. And the area is clean. We had a rest together and we all liked it. And the restaurant near the reception is very nice. Try the chicken soup for sure!!!

Downstairs, both day and night, the pool hood was very noisy, so it was impossible to sleep with the door to the balcony open. The rooms are tired, require renovation, but they give out slippers and bathrobes. Mattresses with springs that are already felt on the sides.

I regretted that I chose this SPA hotel, I was attracted by beautiful photos and good reviews, I hoped that in my free time from excursions, I would be able to spend it pleasantly at the hotel. In fact, it turned out that you can't go to the hamam for free without taking special massage treatments. Only the Finnish sauna is free, which works from 14-17, and even adjusting to this time, the first time I decided to go there everything was wide open, there was practically no temperature.The second time it was a little warmer there, but some towels were drying there, and there was also not enough heat to sit and warm up. But since there was a great desire to steam in their hamam, we decided to order a spa procedure for two, but they did not have time to finish the massage procedures when a crowd of people started showing the hamam to the room near the hamam where the girl was cleaning herself up after the massage (I was still on the procedure)! Moreover, I was assured before the procedure that no one else would come in except the masters! This is the first time I've seen such tactlessness.
The restaurant on the ground floor is good, with access to the pool area, the only thing that overshadowed the impression is that after ordering to the room, they said that I should take all the dishes to the restaurant…

I went to read the reviews and shuddered at the memories of my stay at this hotel. The whole family had a rest - 4 people (two small children) about 7 years ago. Judging by the reviews, nothing has changed. The location of the hotel is really great, but what difference will it make to you if you take turns lying in bed with rotavirus one after the other. It's the same thing every year. And it's not poisoning. After we, like most of the vacationers of this hotel, caught it with the whole family, I went to look for the source of possible contamination. And I found it. I was walking along the beach and not so far from the hotel I saw a trench descending from the mountains into the sea, I asked the locals, they explained that this was the discharge of sewage treatment plants. So much for the endless rotavirus among the vacationers of this hotel - through the dirty sea. Resting in this place is dangerous for your health. This is a huge disadvantage of this hotel, which negates all its advantages.
Well, the food, of course, leaves much to be desired. Probably relatives were assigned to cook, otherwise how to explain why people complain about the quality of food from year to year, but nothing changes.

We have been at this hotel since 06/04/2024, having read positive reviews. I wouldn't be surprised if they really remove the negative ones. I can't say anything good. It definitely doesn't pull at 4* , especially the terrible tasteless food, the complete lack of choice and variety. Terrible compotes diluted with water, tender meat from veins and films. The territory is very small, it is just practically non-existent. You'll be lucky if you get a sea view. A view of the mountains is a view of a garbage dump, which is naturally ignored. I don't recommend it. We are very disappointed.

I recently returned from this hotel. I had a rest from December 7 to December 12. I really liked everything. The breakfasts are good, but please add fresh cucumbers/tomatoes. The room is large, bright, clean. There is everything you need. Except for toothbrushes. The gel as a shampoo is quite normal (mild).

But the pools are cool. I would like it to be a couple of degrees warmer. And it's not convenient that the sauna is far away! And the sauna itself is not hot at all :(And it only works from 14 to 17. Absolutely inconvenient time!
The lights are not turned off at the hotel. In the bathroom, the heated towel rail is very hot, you can dry things. And in general, it's warm from him.

Good evening! The hotel is good, but I will not recommend it due to the fact that it is stated more than it actually is. Namely, the pool with sea water turned out to be with ordinary water. And we came here precisely because of him, since at the end of October the water temperature in the sea can be unpredictable. We were lucky with the weather, and the pool was not needed. But why lie!?
We also had breakfasts and dinners for all 2 weeks, but when checking in, the girl at the reception tried to convince us that dinner was only 2 times, and then the winter season begins and only breakfasts remain. It's good that I printed out the voucher in advance and presented it. Then I was asked who issued me a ticket. And after my answer, they said that everything is OK - meals 2 times for the entire stay. And all with the look like they did us a favor.
Good Spa massage therapists are great, though, in my opinion, it's a little expensive.
Rotovirus has not bypassed us either, but that's another story. I think that the main reason is the dirt that is everywhere - on the streets, on the beach. If the streets are not cleaned, then this is one thing, but it is possible and necessary to monitor the cleanliness of the beach assigned to the hotel.
But there are much more positive moments, we went to rest and rested well! The climate is good, the nature is beautiful. I think we'll come back again, but most likely to another place.

The rest is a shame. Upon arrival, they immediately charged us for the New Year's banquet without showing either the hall or the menu (although we asked). But when we went to dinner, 4 adults and 4 children, we were shocked. The canteen building!!! From food - pollock (which is fed in prisons and hospitals) chicken in hot sauce, buckwheat, not a single vegetable, salted tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, olives, two rolls for dessert, broth of rosehip, compote. That's it!!!!!!! We had full board. The shock of having to eat this food all the days of the New Year holidays. The children are hungry. We immediately went to the reception to refund the cost of the banquet at 10 thousand per person. We spent two days trying to persuade the administration to give us this money, and only on the third day they threatened to call the police and returned it to us. Thanks for that. Then little changed in the diet, more or less there were breakfasts. (But if you go to the hotel's website, you will be surprised by the description of the lunch menu "exquisite" "varied" "children's table" - it is written on the website).The territory was killed after the storm, there is nothing for children to do, the playground is 3 x 3 meters in disrepair, one of the pools announced on the website is closed. There is also nowhere to go from entertainment nearby - a Ferris wheel and that's it! They were saved only by excursions. Honestly, I write that this is only a third of what we didn't like.

We had a family vacation from August 26th to September 1st, 2023.

The restaurant is located in another building and the toilet in this building is paid (although after numerous questions they indignantly said that the hotel guests use it for free). The food in the restaurant is very meager and monotonous (what was for breakfast is shifted to lunch and dinner). 20 minutes before the end of lunch, they can start to clean up the food and bring nothing to those who came to eat for the first time.
At the entrance to the "restaurant", the smell of acid hits the nose. It feels like chefs are giving a second life to products that are not the first freshness.
The scourge of this period for many was gastroenteritis (rotavirus infections), which affected both children and adults.
Tip: weigh the pros and cons 1000 times before going to Abkhazia and, in particular, to the Alex Hotel. The stated 4 🔯 are here only on paper and on the hotel sign.

The hotel is a very pleasant place, on the border of Old and New Gagra. But, as always, there are nuances. The territory is tiny, very green, like a botanical mini-garden. Yes, the size of the territory is not particularly important - access directly to the beach. The beach is well-groomed, two specially trained menacing-looking, but polite mountaineers keep order, there is a place for smokers at the entrance, but they do not smoke on the beach itself, it's nice. There are a lot of sun beds and umbrellas, there is enough for everyone, it is not necessary to borrow, strangers from sun beds are politely asked to go out, or sunbathe on a towel on pebbles. The food at the Hemingway restaurant is right next door, it's decent, not Greece, of course, but not Egyptian compost either. It's delicious and quite varied, it's a sin to complain. There are two saltwater pools, and the third is small, rather a font - in the spa area. The rooms are decent, no damage was noticed, cleaning every day, the maids are smart. The pillows, however, are terrible, brick by brick, they saved money. Rooms on all four sides, if you're lucky - either the sea, or the mountains, or the neighboring building, or the street. Wi-Fi is so-so, it often does not pull, it is better to take a local 10mb SIM card. There is one minus, but the general one is rotavirus, which is slightly less than universal. If you drink antiviral drugs the day before, you will not suffer much, for a day or two. Well, chacha helps, of course, all the time. They say there is also Coca-Cola, but it is difficult to find, and Pepsi is not in the cash register. Well, you must bring a polysorb with you. The sea smells and is cloudy, the stinky rivers are 100-200 meters on each side. There are slightly flooded breakwaters in the sea not far from the shore, it's better not to swim in a storm, maybe. There is a passage in the line of breakwaters, marked with a sign, behind the breakwaters the depth is immediately 5 meters. Gagra itself is a pleasant place, there is where to go and where to sit, a lot of cafes, shops and entertainment for every taste. In the Old Gagra they like live music more, in the New One they are noisier and more lively.

A wonderful hotel in sunny Gagra. Very interesting tours, good food, heated outdoor pools and a small spa. There is a medical base, baths are just a delight. The staff is very friendly, they help to solve all issues and always meet you halfway.

We rested at the hotel in September. I went to the hotel to try all the pros and cons of the hotel for myself, since I am a travel agent and it is important to me what I offer to the tourist.

- rotovirus, everyone is sick. My husband and I have experienced all the delights of the disease, neither where nor when we have encountered this sore. I appeal to the administration, do something!
- noise from the generator! this is terrible! it rumbles day and night, the balcony was not opened and I slept with earplugs.
- the hotel is 4 stars, and in the bathroom there is only one dispenser with shower gel and that's it! Very strange
- strange rules! for example, there is wine in the restaurant, but no glasses. when I asked for a glass, I was told that we do not have a "Swedish line". Strange! Let me remind you. the hotel positions itself as a 4-star hotel!
The Hemingway restaurant, where the guests' meals take place, has panoramic windows overlooking the sea, the view is fantastic! this view is covered with tulle, when I pushed the tulle aside to enjoy the view over a cup of coffee, an aunt came, pulled the curtain and said that it was NOT ALLOWED!
- the toilet in the restaurant did not work, and something always flowed and smelled next to the rest from the sewer manhole.
- COST! it's not worth the money we paid! For this money, there are much better alternatives.
So, I will never return to this hotel and I can't recommend it now!

A hotel that you don't want to go back to. They settled for a very long time, at first they named one cost, at the time of payment - a large one. The room is cold and bright at night. Now we have come for breakfast- all the seats are occupied, we are waiting for the table to be vacated. Breakfast itself takes only an hour and a half. The food is not very tasty, the choice is meager. The toilet in the lobby is open from 9 a.m., i.e. you came for breakfast, but there is nowhere to wash your hands. In general, this level of service is familiar to Abkhazia. One of the advantages is the proximity of the sea and more or less decent rooms. Not all staff are friendly.

We lived in the second new building overlooking the sea. By the rooms - almost everything is super, new, clean, comfortable beds, daily cleaning, etc. Of the small disadvantages, this is the lack of tables on the balconies and very poor sound insulation - the neighbors can be heard perfectly. The territory is small, but beautifully maintained, they try. The food is like in a not very good dining room, simple buckwheat and vermicelli are cooked tasteless... Even banal tomatoes and cucumbers are available 1 time a day... It seems that there are plenty to choose from, but everything is prepared so-so... Umbrellas and sun beds are free on the beach. The beach is not bad for Abkhazia, it is difficult with children, because it is immediately deep and large pebbles. The biggest disadvantage, although this does not apply to the hotel, is almost total rotovirus. Both adults and children are sick! Of course, the hotel has nothing to do with it, but it spoils the impression of a vacation!

Good afternoon, everyone! We were in Alex from June 11 to 23, 2023. The impression is twofold. The hotel is well maintained, especially the grounds. The gardener was simply admired! I'm working all the time, but it's worth it!
There are two girls at the reception, everything is carefully arranged, but they are immediately frozen for any requests:
1. - Our TV is not working
- Today is Friday, the master will be on Monday;
2. - Please close the balcony, we have a small child, very large gaps between the crossbars.
- We called the master
- When is he coming?
- We don't know
- The master said that he would not do it, there are no materials
- maybe we should tape it up?
- Seal it up
We did it ourselves.
3. - When accepting the number, one cup was not found.
- We took it along with the dishes to the dining room.
- Hello, canteen, did they bring you a cup?
They say they didn't bring it. That will be 200 rubles.
Like mannequins, they do not smile, they do not delve into the situation.
Unlike them, the canteen Managers are just pros! They extinguish any negative and are able to find a common language with any vacationer.
On the table at lunch, the wine is dry and semi-sweet red in carafes. Fruit.
Very fast and thorough table cleaning. Excellent work of the hall staff!
The rooms are cleaned perfectly. When changing bed linen, they charge 200 rubles per unit for stains (juice was spilled).
The SPA is just great!!!
The head physician discussed the problems, advised the procedures.
Hammam, massage, wraps, baths, peeling, cosmetology - everywhere there is absolute professionalism and result!!!
The rest turned out to be successful: the sea was 21 degrees, everyone was swimming, the weather was 27 degrees. It rained heavily twice, but all at night.

We rested from 27.10 to 5.11. I read a lot about rotovirus in this hotel, BUT I could not even think that it would affect us (and ALL vacationers, without exception) almost in November! All the vacationers had one problem: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. There were no people in the pool, in the bathhouse. Everyone in the rooms "hugged" with toilets. I had all the symptoms gone in a day, my daughter was in her arms (the hospital is a 5-minute walk away) carried to the hospital to do the system.
The rest is ruined. There is no desire to return.
And in general, it is not a bad hotel. Nice room, well-groomed territory, 2 clean outdoor pools, sauna + indoor pool. The sea is just around the corner.

This is the first time in Abkhazia in winter. I really liked it. The weather was great. We swam in the pool with and without tangerines. Theme party in the style of "Moulin Rouge"
The food at the hotel is good. The rooms are clean, daily cleaning. There is a bowling alley. And of course nature!!! I recommend it for the new year.

The first and last time in this hotel. It is unclear why such flattering reviews. Let's start with parking: if you have time, then there is.
We checked into the room (we waited at the reception for 30 minutes), no one will help in any way in the sense of things, drag everything yourself! We booked in the 1st building, settled in the 2nd. The shower leaked into the room, the floor is wet. They didn't even offer to help carry things. They moved half a day to another building. Extortion of money is everywhere. A paid dinner for 700 rubles per person: this is pasta with 2 small cutlets, just terrible. Moving to another room is generally a separate story
