I don't even know where to start my review of this terrible, terrible hotel. The only plus I can put for cleaning the rooms and the room itself is 25m. The hotel in Gagra is an old renovation, the food is just terrible at the hotel, to get to the restaurant you need to wait from 20-40 minutes for a queue, yes, it is a queue because there is no place in the restaurant for everyone. There is no choice of food, the staff runs around to little avail, there is no cash at all, only cash, not all rooms have a clothes dryer. The sea is clean, access to the sea is about 1 minute, but sewage flows into the sea nearby, this is a normal phenomenon in Abkhazia, so everyone is sick with rotovirus.
The hotel is the worst

The furnishings in the rooms are shabby. There are some stains on the wallpaper (or grease, or sweat). The carpet is dirty and bald. It is not pleasant to be in such a room. Every second vacationer walks with a bag of crackers or medicines.
A pharmacy and a doctor work around the clock in the old building on the 4th floor. I witnessed how a doctor was called to the room for an additional fee.the fee, as we went by taxi for medical assistance.

Just magical, beautiful nature: palm trees, mountains, sea. All this reminded me of Greece.
The accommodation includes bowling every day for 1 hour for free (by appointment).
Nice Spa area. Just a fantastic Thai masseuse Ta (original Thai massage). Hammam, pearl baths, etc. all this is very cool and at a high level.
But this is probably where all the pleasant moments end. Now about the sad thing!
Disadvantages:
Accommodation and room. The walls in the room are made of drywall, there is an absolute lack of sound insulation. The audibility between the rooms down to the sighs and the toilet of the neighbors! Thank God, cleaning every day (the only ones from the entire hotel staff, well-mannered, good women). The rest of the staff basically does not know the words hello, good afternoon, thank you, be kind, etc. A complete lack of communication culture! It struck literally from the reception (it's good if they look in your direction at all when addressing them). The exception is an elderly woman and a girl (often her substitute) at the entrance to the Hamenguel restaurant (where meals are served).
So, the Hamenguel restaurant (the main place for buffet meals).
The kitchen is monotonous and disgusting in taste: sticky pasta, buckwheat and a couple of questionable salads, and sliced cheap sausages. I liked only pickled cucumbers and tomatoes. Apples and bananas cut into pieces from fruits. Watermelons were given for lunch. Meat dishes are extremely scarce. Moreover, often the evening meat could well be reused after the addition.processed (twisted and wrapped in pancakes for breakfast). The taste is one in one.
The tables (2nd floor main hall) are covered with yellowish-looking torn tablecloths (see photo), on top of which there is a film. There are gloomy staff around with wistfully evil looks. Not a single smile in 9 days. The music is usually turned off or a vulgar southern one is playing, and it is constantly being "poked" back and forth, changing the volume. Such a "noise attack" is obtained.
There are two swimming pools on site. Their approximate size is ~ 10*10 meters. This is clearly not enough for 2 buildings. In one (with salt water) as a rule, there are a lot of children (screams, cries, screams, laughter and a lot of splashes). In short, like in a madhouse!
In the second, unhappy adults, who, as a rule, have already suffered an intestinal infection, are afraid to swim in the sea and huddle here because they simply have nowhere else to go. This is a kind of rehabilitation pool. 10 people are sitting around the water and are sad together. Discussing who vomited and had diarrhea for how many days. You can swim in this pool only early in the morning, while no one is there. Next, the battle for the sun beds (which are under umbrellas) begins.
But even here, rest by the water can be interrupted at any moment. The fact is that the staff (Alex resort 4 stars) does not know that glassware is not brought to the pool (only plastic due to safety reasons). Immediately, glass is not only widely used, but also safely shatters into small fragments. After that, the pool is closed indefinitely to drain the water and search for fragments.
Now about the worst part! And this is a widespread intestinal infection! About 2-3 days later, almost everyone we talked to started having the same thing: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Even on the first day of arrival, I was confused by the slight smell of sewage from the sea (attributed to mountain rivers, the specifics of the water). But as it turned out, I was right.
The street (Zvanbeh) in front of the hotel contains hatches. To each of which there is a tie-in from the surrounding houses (the stripes on the asphalt are clearly visible). And the main pipe flows straight through the beach into the sea (there is a characteristic smell of sewage from the water). It is amazing that around the crowds of vacationers sunbathe on the beach, unaware of it (or resigned). The locals (shop assistants, taxi drivers, and hotel employees) do not hide and quite openly say that there are no sewage treatment plants in Gagra and everything flows straight into the sea. By the way, they themselves do not swim in it in principle! One elderly driver told me with sadness in his voice that there is a problem with a kitty every year and nothing changes! In pharmacies, prices are inflated by 2-3 times, a bunch of pale Russian tourists are buying up bundles: enterofuril, linex and rehydrone. The story is the same for everyone.
Result. If you want to swim in the sewer instead of the sea and spend unforgettable hours over the toilet, you will definitely come here! Everything stated is guaranteed and verified!

The beach is great. The hotel is great. They clean super well. The staff is polite and friendly. The view from the window is beautiful. The location of the hotel itself is very convenient. The most beautiful view of the mountains is only in this hotel! But the food... That's for food and 4. You won't be hungry. But chicken almost every day. Have enough of it for the year ahead. It is obviously very good for Abkhazia, in comparison with 4* hotels from other countries, I am not sure that 4: a construction site outside and inside, a buffet is 2 soups, 2 hot ones, 2 salads and 3-4 small things, such as lettuce, olives, etc.
I would not go for the 2nd time, but I repeat it is very good for Abkhazia. Positive: its own piece of beach, its own piece of the embankment, cafe and restaurant, 2 swimming pools: marine and freshwater, SPA department.

But in fact it turned out: The hotel does not correspond to the declared 4-star category. The hotel has a large number of rotovirus infections, this topic seems to be a constant for the hotel - the problem is probably in the kitchen, as well as near the hotel and the beach, the discharge of sewage into the sea. A very bad buffet - there is no choice, everything is tasteless and cold. In addition, we had constant queues at the entrance to the dining room, because the dining room is small and is not designed to fully load the hotel. The dining room furniture is old and generally not tidy. We lived in the second (new) building. There is no sound insulation in the building at all, you can hear everything that happens in the neighbors, that is, it is not possible to get enough sleep. The hotel has no territory, except for two small pools. Two years ago we had a rest in another hotel, everything was just wonderful, and after this hotel we will not eat in Abkhazia anymore

For those who are spoiled by foreign all inclusive it will seem a little. But, at home, we don't cook 7 dishes at the same time. The ONLY FAT MINUS IS ROTOVIRUS (NOROVIRUS). everyone is sick on the 2-3 day of arrival. We can say that this is all along the coast, but they have to sanitize the premises, and no one does it. The virus kills only chlorine, neither alcohol antiseptics, nor anything else will help. We were also felled by this virus, it's a shame when you pay 13 thousand a day to lie with fever and diarrhea. In the Russian Federation, it would already be possible to complain to Rospotrebnadzor, if you risk going, take all the medicines from home. In the nearest pharmacies, everything is at a high margin. The Abkhazians are even making money on this.
One of the disadvantages is that there are no tables on the balcony. They are only in the suites. Guys, Kamon, what kind of bullying is this?! Even in the most run-down hotel, there is a table on every balcony.. Slippers and a bathrobe are not given by default, only if you ask the maid.

Room cleaning for 3 (towels were not changed daily, and they were far from fresh), for 12 days of rest, the carpet in the room was vacuumed 2-3 times, garbage was collected daily. That's all the room cleaning. Wi-Fi is a separate topic (it almost never existed). You need to be prepared for the fact that upon arrival you will immediately pick up a rotovirus infection (everyone is sick, and whole families) The medic at the hotel is openly talking about this. Therefore, take Enterosgel with you right away!!! A pediatrician and a therapist come to the hotel, but you need to stand in line for them. After an hour of waiting, my daughter and I returned to the room, as the queue was practically not moving. They were treated independently. If you choose this hotel, I want to wish you good luck. Maybe you won't be as disappointed as we are.

We were vacationing with a family of 4 people (two children - 4 and 13 years old, 2 adults). The hotel itself is new, the rooms are normal: TV, air conditioning, shower and toilet, balcony with mountain views - in the second building. The territory of the hotel is not large, it has its own pebble beach. Probably that's all the advantages. Of the cons: the food in the dining room is not higher than 2 points - no variety. Since we lived on the 6th floor, we had to go to the dining room in three queues (after 3.5 floors), by this time there was no choice from food, especially desserts and fruits. Moreover, the staff is in no hurry to replenish empty trays. Compote, broth of rosehip and chamomile are in jugs for lunch and dinner, probably not putting them in the refrigerator and for dinner they are already fermented regularly. The staff responds rudely to the comments, although the jug was removed. Baby soup is also the same for lunch and dinner (mostly always chicken), noodles are always boiled and soaked, it is not possible to feed a child! Almost all residents suffer from rotovirus disease- I don't know because there are sewage works near the beach with waste flowing from there, or because of dishes that are not clean, etc. It is not possible to determine (( my family has been ill all over, and the youngest child especially. Unfortunately, the child vomited on the bed at night (I apologize for the details), so they billed for a change of linen, and the hotel administrator also began to teach how to take a 4-year-old child to the toilet at the moment of vomiting. In general, the service is still the same. I will never set foot in this hotel again and I will not recommend it to anyone. I can say that last year we also had a rest in Gagra at the Cote d'Azur hotel (without the notorious stars), and it was just a great vacation in every way! A wonderful holiday out of season. A hot sauna and a cool pool. There are 2 outdoor pools on the territory (fresh and slightly salty, there is a children's pool) and a font in the spa area. I promise that the pools are +26, but when it was +6 outside, there were doubts about this, although in general, if you sit in the water and swim, then it's good. The sauna is open from 14 to 17 and these 3 hours are enough to steam up and jump into all the pools.
Food. Breakfast is from 8.30 to 10. It's pretty monotonous, but you'll be full. Omelette or scrambled eggs, always sausages, porridge, rice / pasta, cereals, sliced vegetables, herbs and seasonal vegetables, various cupcakes for dessert. From 8.30 to 9 there are queues, although the hall seems to be large. For lunch and dinner, we went to the dining Boat and the Summer cafe next to it on the corner. Very tasty local cuisine, especially in Summer. In the Boat, they took mashed potatoes with a cutlet once, but not really at all, but a national cannon.
Payment of the room in cash + take a deposit of 3k. The cleaning is done well, the maid is very pleasant. There is a bus stop with intercity minibuses and many shops nearby. I recommend the Olympus store opposite the Boat, it's cheaper and more interesting there.
The standard room has a huge double bed with a comfortable mattress and terrible pillows. Pillows are the only drawback. This is a very tall piece of stone, not a pillow. The room has a separate loggia and another balcony, the space is divided, which is very convenient if one is sleeping and the other is not.

The buffet food is monotonous. At the same time, it is stated that full board, but there is no wine, beer, or ice cream. Alcohol will be brought for a fee, as well as everything else. At the entrance, they asked for a deposit of 3,000 rubles. However, this is not indicated on the website or the information board. At night, the child started vomiting, they started the bed linen, so they asked us to pay for washing this linen.
The territory of the hotel is small, or rather 2 swimming pools and that's it. In general, I do not recommend the hotel. The price is unreasonably high.
Last year we were at the Bagripsh Hotel, and we have something to compare it with.Everything is included there, I recommend the staff of this hotel to go there and learn!

Nice hotel. 10 years ago I was in the top 3 in Abkhazia. Now it's turned out to be average. The new case is new, but not as high-quality as the first one. But 2 pools and the location make up for the disadvantages. The kitchen has become simpler , to put it mildly . There used to be a restaurant level, but now the dining room and restaurant in the 1st building are not much different except for the service. But in general, a good quality hotel for the non-exclusive.

Nice hotel. The rooms are clean, cleaned every day. The outdoor pools are good. The sea is just around the corner. The breakfasts are delicious, with a local flavor. Upon arrival, a deposit of 3000 rubles is taken. This was not written about on booking...

I liked the hotel. I chose between several hotels and did not lose at all (I looked at the territories of others on a walk). The hotel is located on the beach, two swimming pools (sea and fresh). Breakfasts and lunches, the choice is not great, but very tasty. There are treatments: massage, baths, Charcot showers, etc. There are sun beds on the beach, umbrellas should be put in season. Transfer from the airport was ordered by taxi 2000 rubles.
The only thing I didn't like was that many people even go to the beach in hotel robes (but this is probably not a question for the hotel).

We rested from 09/19/21 to 09/27/21 in the first building.
The hotel is modern, the territory is clean, the staff is attentive. Room with sea and mountain views. The room is in a modern style, clean (cleaning daily, change of linen and towels every 2 days, I give out bathrobes and slippers), soap is available, shampoos, and everything else to take with you.
The hotel is located on the first coastline.
Private beach (sun beds, umbrellas are all free of charge).
Two outdoor pools (one with fresh water, the second with sea heated).
There is a doctor and a nurse on site. The reception is open around the clock.
There is a restaurant on site (we didn't really like it), we went to others.
The food is buffet - the food is normal, the staff is polite, The only food is monotonous, but for us it is not critical, we could only have breakfast, and lunch and dinner in the restaurant - there are many of them in the direction of Staraya Gagra.
Minuses:
There is no payment by card for hotel and Restaurant services - this is very inconvenient considering that at the moment I accept cards in most shops of Gagra, and in your Hotel 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ as indicated everywhere, payment is only in cash.
The Internet is just a horror, the Internet did not catch in the room, I had to either go out into the corridor, or go down the hall to the reception.
When choosing a hotel, the key was the availability of the Internet - if you found out in advance that it would not be available, the choice fell on another Hotel (there is plenty to choose from).

The hotel is normal for me... But the food... Especially the dinners... Very much like an amateur... Canteens.. Medium-sized. By the way, breakfasts are normal. I don't know about dinners... But there are suspicions.. By the standards of Abkhazia, there are very decent pools on the territory. A big plus is that the sea is nearby.. Not the Caribbean, of course, but the sea.. I've been to a lot of places, there's something to compare it with. I will not return here, but the advantages of the hotel can be found if you search, as well as the disadvantages. I wish everyone to avoid rotoviruses and visit the Lyon restaurant in Sukhumi

We had a rest at the end of March. They checked us in an hour earlier, they didn't ask for an additional payment. While we were making out, we were offered a glass of wine. The room was on the 5th floor, overlooking the sea and the mountains. The furniture and repairs were not the first freshness, but everything was clean and comfortable. Bring 1.5 liters of water every day. I think the breakfast was good, you could always find it to taste. The maintenance staff did a great job. The pool is cool, the view is awesome. There is a pump room with Artisan water on the territory. The dogs near the hotel used to make noise, but they guard the territory so we became friends with them)
There was a bad trip to the restaurant for dinner at the hotel. They brought products that were not fresh from the sea, after treatment, they were changed to another dish. There are good cafes nearby where you can eat and spend time.

The rest was overshadowed by a raging rotovirus infection along the coast, caught on the 2nd day, and has not been released to this day.
According to the faces of vacationers and the lack of sunburn, you can safely distinguish those who have just arrived and are faced with the problem of the virus.
The hotel itself takes only its location.
Surface cleaning, vacuumed daily, without collecting all the pebbles brought from the sea, changed towels every 2 days (and then, we were together with the child without providing a place, asked for an additional towel for hiking at sea, it was given only after contacting the reception), put a bottle of water and left. The dishes taken out on the floor could stand for days, no one cares!
The pastel was replaced 1 time in 10 days, and then after charging an additional fee for a non-standard sheet cutting, the child vomited at night, and the sheet was stained, although we washed it.
The hotel has a doctor and a nurse, which is a plus that at least at night you can come to take your temperature, but don't expect much help.
The buffet food is mediocre, monotonous and boring for the 4th day, and in connection with the virus, it is generally disgusting for the whole vacation.wine at lunch in decanters.the choice of food may be there, but as I said above, it is so monotonous that it exactly corresponds to the declared stars of the hotel.
But there is a constant problem of service in the dining room, they do not have time to put out glasses, lack of small spoons, etc.
Children's animation is unclear for whom it works at all,?only certain hours of employment are assigned, which do not fit into the child's daily routine at all. In 10 days, I have never even been able to get into the room to play.
The sea was gorgeous, so the pools were not used, I can't say anything about them. And after the words of the therapist at the reception on the first day, asking them not to use them at all, there was no desire.
The management definitely needs to review the declared service!
We were not satisfied with the hotel.

I'll start from the beginning. The disgusting attitude of the staff is at the reception. Neither hello nor goodbye, with that daily. We checked in on February 27, left on March 04, the same receptionist was at the reception. This girl spoils many people's mood when checking in and leaving, it feels like everyone owes her. It got to the point that she refused to check us in without a cash deposit. Transfer to a card and payment by bank transfer is not acceptable to her. We had to leave a deposit of 3,000rubles, we didn't have any cash. The answer just killed her-I won't settle you and do whatever you want. Please pay attention to the management. She only sells corn on the beach. She really spoils the whole picture of the hotel. The rest of the hotel staff, the maids, the restaurant staff and the administrators are all great fellows. Thanks to you, the score is 5. We came to celebrate the couple's birthday and if it wasn't for this lady at the reception, everything would have been at 5+. There was a cake from the restaurant and congratulations from the whole hall, it was very pleasant.
