Long queues, thanks to our guide Aisha, who helped us pass faster. Very beautiful, well-maintained territory, interesting architecture and location of the premises. There are many beautiful elements preserved since the time of the sultans.

The palace was preserved in the 17th century, so there is no wild mix of styles. I advise you to take a guide or study all the literature about the harem, otherwise there will be no impressions. The audio guide does not help much, it gives a couple of crookedly translated sentences. We took a tour and we really liked it, despite the fact that in the middle of the harem it turned out that Erdogan was coming and we were promptly thrown out)

The first thing that surprised me was the price of an entrance ticket - 1,700 lira per person. The two of us go for almost 10 minutes. And that's not all. If you want to see the harem room inside, then get ready to give another 600 lire per person. The territory is large, there are a lot of people, the audio guide sometimes speaks a foreign language, although you exhibit Russian. In general, blurred sensations

The price is 1500 liras, the visit is worth it. It is better to lay the whole day for a full examination. Do not forget that Tuesday is a day off. The audio guide in Russian is almost useless (there are numbers in the application, but they are not always indicated in the exhibits and vice versa, the exhibits indicate that there is an audio guide, but there is no audio guide), a passport or 1000 bachs is needed for collateral. They didn't regret it.

It is grandiose, interesting, beautiful and informative. The audio guide was enough for me and I read a little on the Internet. With a huge number of visitors, there was practically no congestion. It is not necessary to put little time into planning a visit. It is better to inspect without haste, because there is a lot.

It is informative and interesting, but you need to pay extra for locations, huge queues, it was not possible to get into some halls, the cafe is not working well, there is not enough space for so many tourists.

If you are interested in the story of the sultans and their wives, as well as all the paraphernalia, then come. The cheapest way is to buy a Museum Pass for 105 euros, and visit not only this palace with museums, but also museums nearby. It is very warm on the territory of the calligraphy pavilion, you can bask there in cold weather)

Of course, those who want to watch history and plunge into the "Magnificent Century" will do anything. The price on 02/19/2025 is 2000 liras (6000 rubles per person). It includes the territory, the harem and the Church of Aya Irina. They don't sell separately, only the complex. An audio guide is included in the price. But at the time of our visit, many locations were closed (almost half), and the price was not reduced.

A very remarkable place, I recommend visiting with a guide. The circumstances so happened that they came to this museum on their own, as savages, as they say. Those who watched the TV series "Magnificent Century" will have something to look at and compare the picture of what is happening. But it's still better with a guide or an organized tour.

The most expensive museum in Istanbul (5,000 rubles per ticket) and at the same time, it "does not work out" for this amount. The audio guide is very bad, the Harem is for a fee, and the museum itself can be bypassed and viewed in an hour. Very overrated.

This is an amazing place where you plunge into history from the inside. I highly recommend visiting the museum in the morning (come to the opening) there are not many people, the opportunity to take a photo without a crowd. Another great idea was that we first visited the harem, and only then went through the palace (again because of the crowd of people. The harem has small rooms and is very stuffy, so the fewer people there are, the more comfortable it is to enjoy the story). The place is definitely worth a visit. Tickets are expensive, it is possible to take an audio guide ( 100 euros deposit or passport)

I recommend buying a ticket yourself at the ticket office, the price is about 4000 rubles, but you can walk around the entire palace on your own, and not gallop with an excursion. There are cafes and benches for recreation on the territory. During the day, we examined everything except the harem-we no longer had enough strength. But it was worth the money and time spent

I was there on an excursion where the palace and the entrance to the harem were included. Of the minuses, the excursions take place during rush hour and for such a large palace, well, 1-1.5 hours of free time is nothing. It also started raining at that time. You need to go there with an excursion and separately yourself on the second day in the morning there are no people yet, there are a lot of museums, there you need to allocate a day for its inspection separately. To see and feel enough, you really need to be there a lot of time

Very informative and interesting! It's best to take one ticket for everything, because the local authorities have raised prices a lot and everything will be much more expensive individually. And you need to spend the whole day on this place, there's a lot to watch.

A wonderful place for walking, half-day excursions for sure! You won't notice how time flies by. The only thing that is not very good is huge queues, at the cash register, on the territory, inside, to go in to see how the sultans lived, you will also have to stand in line. But the place is worth queuing up and visiting!

There is a large park nearby, but there is nowhere to sit down and relax.... There is not a single bench... The children had to sit right on the bushes (they could not stand the adults) We couldn't get inside because of the high cost.... On the way, we met German tourists who flew in for a day trip from Antalya for whom the entrance also turned out to be expensive... (they were just waiting on the street for their group, with whom they went)

The palace is epic. Do not buy tickets at the bus booth when approaching the museum, there is a man with a terminal sitting there and trying to sell tickets for 500 lira more expensive than at the box office. There are 6 cash registers, the queue passes quickly.

A large beautiful palace with a long history, everything pleases the eye, it is clear that many things are well maintained and restored. The best time to visit since the beginning of the opening, there are practically no people and you can admire the beauty without prying eyes, was at the end of November. For such beauty, the price tag is more than humane.

An iconic palace complex that is definitely worth a visit. Difficult feelings after familiarization. It doesn't take your breath away. Asian primitive minimalism on a grand scale. It doesn't look like the splendor of St. Petersburg or European palaces, but it doesn't disappoint.

Topkapi Palace was built in the XV century, during the time of Sultan Mehmed II, when the Byzantine Empire fell from the Ottoman Turks and it was necessary to build something worthy of the new sultan. This palace impresses with its beauty, magnificent oriental architecture, gardens and sea views. It gained its prosperity during the reign of Sultan Suleiman, who worked here, met ambassadors and guests, and spent his free time with his wives, children, and concubines in this palace. Hurrem Sultan was the only woman in the East who went from a concubine to the legitimate wife of Sultan Suleiman. This story can be seen in the movie Magnificent Century.

It's informative and interesting, there are several themed museums inside. It is better to find a Russian-speaking guide on the square (they run around with flags) and with his help buy tickets and pass without queuing. Inside the park, there is a place to walk between visits to different zones. You need to plan at least 2 hours in time, and there is a queue inside each museum. It was interesting to look at the dishes, for example, and find out that Chinese porcelain was already a masterpiece many centuries ago, especially against the background of competitors from the European mainland.

Don't even think about leaving Istanbul without visiting Topkapi Palace! Today, the palace complex is a museum, one of the most popular in Istanbul. About two million tourists visit it every year! There are many interesting buildings from different eras on the territory of Topkapi. There are ancient towers that remember Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, and one of the oldest Byzantine churches that has been preserved since the time of Constantinople, and the labyrinth of rooms of the sultan's harem, built here in the XVI century, and amazingly beautiful elegant rooms for audiences, receptions and meetings of viziers, and monumental gates, and exquisite pavilions of the palace garden. .. The palace occupies a huge area (about 700,000 sq. m. meters). There are many gardens and royal terraces with stunning views of the Bosphorus. Of course, it's better to come in the morning to avoid the crowds. Don't forget comfortable shoes — the palace is huge! If time is limited, it is better to take an excursion, in 2.5 hours we managed with a guide to see only part of the most important sights of the palace!!!! Very impressive!!! Topkapi Palace is not just a tourist destination, it is an inspiring journey through the centuries that will leave a strong impression in your soul and a desire to learn more about the era of the great sultans.

As of June 2025, an entrance ticket per person with a visit to the harem cost about 6,000 rubles per person. From my point of view, the price tag is a little too high, since of course there is something to see, but for me there are more interesting museums in Russia and much cheaper. There is a stall in the park below and the cunning Turks sell tickets for 3,000 lire, and if you go up to the official ticket office at the museum, there are tickets for 2,400 lire, so be careful.

An interesting place. I would probably like it if there weren't such queues for tickets anymore. It's too expensive to walk in a crowd.
