The pool was warm, clean, smelled a bit of bleach, well, that's right.
The beach is by the sea, the beach has already been cleared of branches brought by the sea, the water is still cold, but there are plenty of daredevils to plunge into the blue sea)
There are a lot of stray dogs walking, calm, they did not approach and did not touch anyone.
The food was well organized, fed to slaughter, tired of eating)) from 7-10 breakfast (buffet), from 10-13 h tea party rolls 13-to 15 lunch (buffet), from 15-18 grilled chicken fries, ice cream, fruit ice and popcorn, soda for children flows like a river, from 18-20 h dinner (buffet) and of course as much beer, wine, chacha as you want for free up to 22 hours.
Organized at certain times, the work of an animator for children and adults, you want gymnastics, you want aqua aerobics, stretching, discos., there is also billiards and table tennis.
It is possible to book some kind of excursion directly at the hotel, which we did.
The hotel is located in an area with direct relief, stunning views and mountains with snow-capped peaks and the whole area are visible from the balcony of the hotel and the sea is undulating without us!
In short, this is a quiet village without noise, without fuss, such a quiet village in which the Grand Hotel Russia is located. We really liked it here, we will come again 😘😘😘

You can't give this hotel a single star. It needs to be closed and improved to organize a normal stay.
I'll start with the room:
1. We lived on the 11th floor, going up / down by elevator is a whole quest, we went down / up on foot more than once, standing, waiting for half an hour. In general, the room did not cause rejection at first glance: the sea view was amazing. The miracles began later - without waiting for a change of linen on the 7th day of stay, we found out at the reception that, it turns out, we need to submit an application. But they can't change anyway, because there is no laundry of their own, and another laundry does not have time to wash and return the laundry. Besides, the pillows are just tears....((( a rag. Linen with a grayish tint, stinks of chlorine, everything is as we "loved" in our distant past... There were three of us, sets for two, barely begged for a third.
I don't say anything about cleaning at all: they vacuumed in the middle of the room, no one ever cleaned the plumbing during the rest. The service sucks completely.
2. The beach is mud, garbage, no one cleans anything, as yesterday someone threw bags and bottles, so today everything is the same.. small rivers flow down from both sides of the beach, the smell of sewage is terrible, even when you swim in the sea. About rotavirus - everyone was sick, both children and adults. The granddaughter fell ill on the second day of her stay, the horror that they went through. A day after she got sick, I got sick. The condition did not return to normal until the end of the vacation, although the acute period with vomiting and fever was a day. Here's the beach and the sea we've been longing for.
3. Dining room:
Dirty broken dishes with leftovers, fingerprints of someone else's lips on the glasses, who used to use them.
The food is served in some kind of troughs, the mess is disgusting, we did not go to the canteen, but passing by the windows it smelled so much of cooking that it turned me sick, how can you imagine that they also eat it.
At first we tried to eat in the dining room, but as soon as we saw this unsanitary situation and food for pigs, we stopped. on the last evening, we decided to go in to eat watermelon for dinner. I was lucky enough to "snatch" a few pieces. But my happiness was replaced by indignation when I saw the rotten rind of a watermelon, the elder was called, he said that they had seen it, but the management told them to cut and carry these watermelons to people. Abkhazians would not be ashamed... I will not recall the history of the republic here. But you need to have a conscience.
4. You can't be at the reception and in the lobby at all - the smell of popcorn and a bunch of other nauseating ones. And the girls at the reception - everyone knows that rotavirus, which is advertised in large letters, that linen is not changed, that cleaning is one name... but they don't care, stone faces, we can't do anything, go to the management.
In general, dear Russians, you cannot go to this so-called GRAND HOTEL RUSSIA in Gudauta.
If you value: health, time and money spent...And the sense of human dignity from staying there drops sharply.
Thanks for the ruined vacation. I'm not going to Abkhazia anymore

What would I like to write about this hotel, this hotel is new, but it is very unpleasant to rest in it because of the attitude of the staff to vacationers (very disrespectful) The dishes are all chipped and there's just not enough of them. The food is very attractive and monotonous, coffee and tea can only be drunk in the morning, the air conditioner in the dining room does not work although it is there, the bartenders are always rude. One good thing was the cleaning of the room, these are all advantages. Wi-Fi works only in the hotel if you go to the pool or to the dining room, all Internet work stops, as well as there are only 2 elevators on 18 floors and they occasionally break down and people have to walk up to the 18th floor, it's just terrible, so think hard if you want to relax in these hotels.

1) The sea... an unfortunate location. Yes, it looks clean. It smells like sewage. I'm afraid to swim in it, we're driving, so we're leaving. Not everyone has this opportunity(
2) Sun beds and the beach itself. The attitude is bestial, well, there's no other way to say it. There are 8 umbrellas for such a number of guests. Are you serious?! Of course, there are not enough sunbeds either.
It is not too expensive to install a canopy. But the owner of the hotel apparently decided that there was not enough space "and so it would do"
, for taking out a sunbed a little further - a fine. The beach is dirty, not tidy, it is not pleasant
3) The dining room. I'm not a picky person, I eat everything😀
But, dear friends, I can't eat. I'm squeamish. The smell from the dining room is such that you have to breathe through T-shirts. It smells, I note, not of freshly cooked food, it smells of waste. Reception, second floor, EVERYTHING stinks.

It's a terrible place, they called an ambulance 3 times in 2 weeks, spent the night in the hospital 2 times. As a result, your family has a gut. The ficalia stick along the streams past the hotel right in the beach area, the stench is terrible. The food is terrible, the attitude of the staff is boorish, they do not solve anything, there are a lot of dogs everywhere both in the beach area and on the territory of the hotel. Dishes with chips. There are only two elevators on 18 floors, one is often under repair. We walked to the 12th floor every day. In general, brr. I'm not going to Abkhazia anymore. You can read the reviews with one star, it says the same as mine. All other reviews where only good things are written, I consider PAID!! People do not see each other, there is no need to make fun, spend your health for a lot:)
Plus: 1. Very prompt, polite, sympathetic hospital and ambulance staff. I didn't want to go back to the hotel from the hospital.

Everything that is written in the negative reviews is true. The rest was pretty spoiled by the inconveniences created by the hotel (it would seem it should be the other way around), I'll start in order:
1. The pool bar is located in the main building, there is no free bar by the pool or on the beach. Of course, you buy everything for a fee.
2. Pool operation hours:
From 10 am to 20.00!!! You can't wait for him in the morning, in the evening when it's dark at sea, you won't be able to spend time by the pool.
3. There are no tables, chairs, or covered areas for relaxing in the company or just the whole mass of the hotel. There is nowhere to rest in the evening. There is no animation, at least because there is nowhere to collect all the people. There are no people, there is no one to play with.
4. The beach, a separate story. There is no bar (only paid, well, at least that way)
There is no toilet.
10 umbrellas for all 360 rooms :) There were 143 sun beds. The beach itself is a maximum of 100- 150m of coast. You go beyond the boundaries of a fine of 1000 rubles, you can not drag the sunbed away from the crowd, although there are a lot of places around, everyone is forced to crowd into a small narrow area. There are a lot of people in the morning (since the pool is closed! Everything is on the beach and everything is packed)
At 7.30 every morning there is a fight! For the first 8 days, we did not get on the sun beds, nor, of course, under the umbrella. Since everything was burned down, I had to give up and queue for an umbrella in the morning... An entertaining event, I'll tell you.
5. Dining room, food gets boring quickly as everywhere else, there are no small spoons, there is no black bread. Raw dishes and broken trays, they wash everything with pens, of course hastily (as a result, rotovirus is hellish), it is everywhere, but here they just vomit everywhere in the dining room, at the elevator and on the territory. They wrote about elevators, so this is the main breeding ground.
6. There was no cotton candy (this is also written in the reviews)
7. And the cherry on the cake was eviction. I was told I had to wash the stain from the child's vomit (there was exactly a stain), since there are such rules or pay a fine. She clarified where the rules are that hotel guests should wash. As a result, the manager was called. Anna Yuryevna tried to convince me for a long time that I was given clean underwear and I had to control the child. Well, yes, at night, but what is not there?))) That's why I went to the hotel to do the laundry. That's what everyone does, she said. And the fact that there are simply no bedspreads, in violation of all sanitary norms, it's nothing, the linen should still be clean at the time of delivery :) I categorically refused to pay and wash, they threatened the guards that they would not let me out. I offered to resolve all issues in court, since I will not pay pre-trial. And they do not have the right to hold by law !!!
Shame on such leadership!
I was sure the reviews are written by people who are too pretentious, but I have been to Abkhazia 3 times, I do not compare it with anything other than the same country and I will say, people are looking for other places to relax. Don't choose this, either this year or next year! It won't get any better!

Separately, I would like to write about the maid of the 4th floor, this is a worker bee, there is daily conscientious cleaning in the room, the windows in the room are shining, the bathroom is washed, toilet paper was replenished as needed, as well as shampoo, shower gel and soap. The hotel employs very good-natured people who know their job and are always ready to help. The hotel also has a medical office, which is a huge plus.
Dining room: in my opinion, there is a very small distribution line for such a number of guests, there were enough dishes for everyone, but almost all with chips. Most of all, it killed us that we had to take the dishes out on our own to the dirty dishes rack, which stands next to the clean one, wherever we rested, even in hotels below the category, but the dishes were always taken away by the canteen staff. But you can put up with this, sunbathing on the rocks. Every day there is a smell of sewage on the beach and this negates the whole impression of a vacation.

The food is good in principle, but the minus is that the dishes are crushed, dirty after Washing. The bar is only on the lobby, although they said it would be by the pool and on the beach. That's a lie. There is no animation at all. There is no entertainment for either children or adults. Terrible hotel! We have been vacationing since 30.08.2024 , if you can call it a vacation . 2 rooms were booked. The tour operator indicated that the romer should be nearby. As a result, we are accommodated in rooms located in different wings of the hotel (to get to the children, I had to walk across the street) To which the administrators said that they did not have any numbers and would solve the problem only the next day (as a result, no one solved it), no one came up to us and apologized, in short, they did not care. The pool did not work for 4 days as it was cleaned, it was green! There were no declared animators at all . Ice cream was given on delivery. In the dining room, the food is monotonous, mostly chicken, when the watermelon was taken out, people ran as if they saw it for the first time, there was not enough for everyone, workers carried donuts down the street in a bucket not even covered with a lid! By the middle of the second day of "rest", my husband caught rotovirus, and everyone else followed him, I had to run across the street to the children for a minute. As a result, we went to the hospital for 8 ivs (all ivs are paid, the hotel taxi is also paid and more expensive than the local ones). And the hospital told us that the SES would be called to this hotel soon! There are no cases of this stuff in any hotel!We were ill for 4 days very hard. There is no drinking cold water in the hotel, it was necessary to wash down the pills, they offered to pour water from the guard from some kind of tap! The bar was not open at that time to buy water there. In general, all our adventures ended as soon as we left there instead of the 9th of the 4th! The vacation was ruined, it's not said enough, I don't recommend this place to anyone!

I'll start with the pros: a gorgeous view from the window (lived on the 18th floor from 07/28/23/2023) and both the sea and the city (on the other side of the hotel), new furniture, clean walls, a bathroom equipped with a hairdryer, everything you need for living (a kettle is given at the reception), but there is no supply of drinking water in the rooms water, mugs and cutlery for tea.
The daily cleaning of the rooms consisted only of collecting garbage. During the week of stay, neither linen nor towels were changed once. We took two rooms - children with separate beds were given a room only on the 7th floor, explaining that such rooms are not higher than the 9th floor. At the request of the children, the linen was changed once with great reluctance and with the requirement to wash the stains on the duvet cover, allegedly for dirty linen during eviction, we can be fined.
Food… One bold minus that negates all the advantages. The food is tasteless from the word at all. There's just nothing to choose from. The only thing to which there are more or less no complaints is porridge for breakfast - every day is different, of three types. It seemed that there was no cook in the hotel, and all the food was imported - there were often poorly heated second courses. There is a terrible smell in the hallway before entering the dining room, which discourages all appetite. In the early days, there were not even napkins in the dining room, they appeared on the third or fourth day of our stay. On the third day of our stay, our whole family was covered with "acclimatization" in the form of diarrhea, vomiting and fever.
The sea... from the window is clean and beautiful, but if you come to swim on the beach in the evening, you will feel the persistent smell of sewage, because next to the beach a channel flows into the sea, through which all the drains from nearby buildings flow

Let's start with the elevators, you can wait for an elevator from 10 minutes to 40 and it's not a fact that you can get to your floor, also room cleaning is a separate topic, the maids do not want to work from the word at all, when I felt sick in the room because of rotavirus, I was told to clean everything with toilet paper, which is given one the roll. Next, the kitchen, the first days still seem to be nothing, but later it turns into horror, everything is dirty, a couple of times there was practically no food in the middle of lunch, about vacationers who rush to the food and type as if they had never seen it, I am generally silent. Next is the bar, they promise us drinks and all that, as a result we get diluted wine, cheap vodka and cheap beer, there is water and bottled beer and juices in the dachshund bar, but here you pay money, and not small ones. 0.5 water costs 100, regular beer costs 250. Also, the staff themselves, they don't want to solve any issues, but just send you. The linen in the room was changed 1 time in 2 weeks, then whatever you want. The conclusion is, this is far from 3 stars, but if you want to waste money and drink cheap booze, then you are here.

It all started with the fact that on the day of check-in, after the train, when we really want to swim, we were told that towels would be available only tomorrow - this is at best.
The cleaner, upon arrival, immediately gave a lecture that there is tension with sheets and towels, and she does not accept stains, said WASH YOURSELF, WITH YOUR HANDS!! Otherwise, you will pay a fine.
There is no drinking water anywhere in the hotel, no, not how much. Just buy it yourself, I don't understand why you can't put a cooler at least in the dining room.
A miracle elevator, which closes for maintenance during rush hour. And a huge crowd gathers, you can stand in line for 30-40 minutes, and it's not a fact that you will get there. The hotel has 18 floors, you can't walk. It is better to ask for a low floor right away.
In the dining room, the food is more or less full-time, chicken and pork in different interpretations. It's just monotonous, but you don't go hungry. But there is also a huge strain with the dishes, at lunch you wait for a miracle when the plates appear. There are 3 HIGH CHAIRS for the whole hotel, for which there are always battles, and this is a tin!!
THE BEACH IS DISGUSTING!!! There is a stinky river nearby, and a train for the entire beach. Swimming is scary
Of course, beach towels are not provided.
The hotel still requires huge improvements. By the end of the rest, humility is already coming, then there is DEFINITELY NO desire to return here again.

Fortunately, the beach is not separated from the city and you can go further, there are showers and changing rooms everywhere on the beach, there are no toilets.
Room cleaning. A change of linen and towels is announced upon arrival for 4 days. They say that you can go to the lobby bar for water and that the napkins are finished for today, and the most interesting thing is that if you want food, then come to the opening and that it's your own fault that you came an hour before closing time and therefore there is nothing left. When we arrived after half an hour after the opening, there are no empty seats. There is no respect for the hotel guests, you beg for everything everywhere. There were watermelons for several days in a row, but they also ran out and for the third day there are no fruits, at least when we walk, in the middle of lunch.

There are sun beds and umbrellas at the sea from the hotel, but they need to be occupied in the morning, the situation by the pool is better, but you also need to choose the time while everyone is eating.
I would like to note that the hotel has a very good Internet connection, a router right in the room.
Of the disadvantages, the room lacks small details for convenience, for example, a shelf in the bathroom or a trash can in the room. But perhaps this is because the hotel has only recently opened and all the details have not yet been finalized.
We cleaned every day, but during the entire stay, the linen and towels were never changed.
