We had a family vacation (2 adults, 2 children) from July 30 to August 5.
The food is acceptable in principle, at first I even liked it (until they caught rotavirus). The food was quite varied, there were porridges, soups, and salads. From drinks tea, coffee drink in the morning, at lunch and for dinner 2 types of compotes. You won't stay hungry. Sometimes they ran out of glasses or bread, for example, but everything was brought quickly. Apples, oranges and very tasty watermelons are made of fruits. The disadvantage of the dining room is too loud and monotonous music.
The service is far from up to par! They always sit at the reception with dissatisfied faces. Of course, they answer the questions, but with the look as if they were already pretty tired of us, from the very first day... There was animation for both adults and children (yoga, pool games and regular ones, disco), but we didn't participate much.
The rooms are normal. Not very spacious, but cozy. The renovation is fresh. I was not satisfied with the 2-bedroom bed, which turned out to be made up of two 1.5 bedrooms. We were 2 adults and 1 child sleeping in threesomes, I was unlucky enough to sleep in the middle, it was very uncomfortable. The eldest daughter slept separately on a cot. There is no glass for brushes in the bathroom, and there is no shelf for shower gel and shampoo in the shower either. The toilet paper holder is constantly falling apart. The trash bucket is very small (for a family of 4 people). There was a dryer on the balcony, often things were blown away by the wind, because there were no clothespins.
We lived on the 4th floor. At first they tried to get on the elevator, but it's either very long, or the elevator comes full.
The view from the room looks like the sea, but you can see the terrible black roof of the lower floor, on which cigarette butts, fruit bones, bottle caps and similar troubles are lying around.
There is no cleaning in the room, only the garbage was taken out every day and vacuumed once in 7 days. On the second day of the stay, the youngest child began vomiting, some of the linen, carpet, towels were stained. We were told to wash and wash it yourself, the maid will come tomorrow and pick it up. They gave out only linen instead of dirty and a rag)) The child and dad were sent by taxi to a local hospital for a drip for 1.5 thousand rubles. As it turned out, there were 5 more children in the hospital, all from different hotels, so most likely the infection spreads by sea... Locals and taxi drivers say that they have such a problem every year in August. As it turned out, we were not alone on our floor in the hotel. I think this infection has caught most vacationers, especially if they came with children. That same night, I started vomiting too. The next day, the eldest daughter had a birthday, which of course was ruined. My husband also threw up at night. A nightmare of course! No disinfection was even carried out in the room!
The pool is normal, there were always places and umbrellas too. Two depths for children and for adults. The water is warm. In the evening, the backlight. Among the disadvantages are slippery tiles at the entrance to the pool and dangerous steps at the bottom.
The territory itself is poorly landscaped, the plants are dead, the palm trees are drooping, the trash is too close and stinks, there are barrels nearby in which something is constantly burning. The smells are not pleasant. Stray dogs walk around the hotel, as well as throughout the city. At least they're not aggressive... Besides dogs, there are cows and roosters in the city)
There is a park within a 5-minute walk, which we found only on the last day. It's not big, but it will suit children for a change, there is dense vegetation and shade, you can hide from the heat. About a kilometer away there is another park, there is a Ferris wheel, all sorts of swings, a large memorial in the form of a real ship with sails, the children liked it.
There is a market nearby, there are many local wines, cognacs, fruits and other goods.
The beach is pebbly, special slippers are needed, otherwise it is very unpleasant to enter. There are few sun beds and everyone is constantly busy, people occupy them in the morning, put towels on top of pebbles and that's it - the sunbed is occupied! The water is warm, clean in terms of transparency, but, as I have already written, there are some bacilli floating in it.
Sightseeing tours are offered near the hotel, but we haven't been anywhere since we were sick... We only went to the water park in Gagra, because there is no entertainment for children in Gudauta.
As a result, we liked the nature, the warm sea, the sun, the locals, who, unlike the hotel staff, turned out to be very good-natured, sociable and hospitable. I liked the tranquility of Gudauta and the sparseness. Maybe we'll go back there someday, but definitely not to this hotel!
And yes, this hotel does not reach 3*! During the week, we never changed the linen and towels and vacuumed only once!

People run to borrow at five in the morning. We were settling down on the pebbles. No one cleans up the garbage. In a row. The stinky river flows from the hotel and flows into the sea. So much for rotavirus. An ambulance constantly arrived and took away sick children and adults. In the dining room, if you don't hurry up, you will eat on the windowsill, there are not enough tables. The food is usually the same, for those who don't care what they eat. The fruits were only apples and oranges, finely chopped.There is no entertainment from this village. There are a lot of abandoned houses. There is no place to walk, it is very boring. There is a good park not far away, that's where we went for a walk. There is nothing on the territory. We had a rest in the middle of July. I want to start by saying that the hotel itself is very good, but the location is unfortunate. Gudauta is not the best place for such a hotel.
One of the advantages is a clean and beautiful hotel, the rooms are fresh, the towels and linen are snow-white. The food is tolerable - by the end of the rest you don't want to eat anymore. We ate in a cafe, but it's not tasty for us there either. But it's a matter of taste.
They did not dive, water from the sea did not get into their mouths, but their stomachs ached on the 5th day of rest, most likely local water (purchased) is not suitable and food is also prepared from it.
I want to feel the smell of the sea and the sound of the surf, instead of the smell of the channel and the frogs that do not stop talking around the clock. The kanalya river flows out next to the hotel (a drain pipe goes out of each house into the river) that's where the rotaviruses come from.. From the balcony you can see a spot that merges and goes out to sea towards the beach.. I recommend going to the beach on the right with a gate.
There are no cypresses, palm trees, flowers, greenery and mountains far away, unlike Gagra and Athos. The view from the balcony opens onto the old scary houses

In fact: Twenty floors, 265 TWO/Triple rooms. We get an average of 530/600 vacationers and ONLY TWO (!!) TWO!!! THE ELEVATOR. Add to this the frequent power outages - the picture is depressing.
Rooms: all rooms have ONE double bed. Therefore, whoever you come with, you will sleep together. The rooms are very small and cramped.
Nutrition: not only that, there is no variety: It's been the same for ten days. So the quality is DISGUSTING. The child was poisoned on the second day - vomiting and diarrhea for 4 days. Every SECOND vacationer experienced the same symptoms. Eating in the dining room should be extremely careful.
Staff: obviously tired. On the very first day, I contacted the fact that the hair dryer does not work in the room - in 10 days, no one fixed / changed the hair dryer. Linen is changed only after 5 days. Cleaning - the maid vacuums and wipes the floor in the shower. That's all.
Equipment: for whatever period you arrive, shampoo and gel SAMPLES are waiting for you. All. If you want hygiene, provide for yourself.
Pool: shallow. Not deep. Little. Boring.
Beach: tears!!! There are only 20 tourists for such a number(!!!) Twenty umbrellas and 50 deck chairs!!! EVERYTHING!! The beach is small. Not cleaned. Uneven. It's generally terrible after the storm. But that's not the main problem. There are packs of WILD DOGS on the beach! And although they are not aggressive, it is not pleasant. If you are not sitting on a chaise longue, but on a pebble - after leaving the sea you will not be able to use your blanket - there will be a dog lying there. And it is very problematic to drive her away. In addition, the water is dirty, it is covered with a thin layer of oil / gasoline / petroleum products from the engines of private boats that have settled on this beach (all kinds of "bananas", boats, jet skis). For comparison: 150-200 meters further away is the beach of another hotel, so there is always a caretaker who CLEANS the beach, chases away not only dogs and boaters, but also gently expels outsiders.
Bottom line: I DO NOT ADVISE against the word at all.

We rested from 07/21/23 - 07/28/23 this is some kind of HORROR, the whole hotel was vomiting from your food, all the children were sick of watermelons, all the food is spicy (apparently the sharpness is specially made so that the taste buds do not feel rotten). People take a lot of food, their eyes run away, and then they throw it in the trash and apparently then the chefs take it out of the trash and put it back on the Buffet. It was not a vacation, but "hugging" with the toilet all week!! You might think that there is an adaptation to such a climate and therefore it makes you sick, but children and adults vomit at every step ... by the pool, in the dining room, etc. Do something with food and the hotel will have no complaints, everything is fine, except this one. And here's another thing, put coolers on the floors, there is not enough water, we asked for a kettle in the room, they gave it to us, but it smelled very strongly of bleach and it did not come out in any way..if the coolers were standing, it would make it easier for everyone to stay at the hotel. The dining room is normal, there are few tables, but it is designed for a stream, not for simultaneous visits. The food is ordinary, you can eat. But they put adjika and spices, garlic everywhere. Sometimes they salt a lot. Well, it's quite possible to eat this way. There is no soap dispensers and paper towels in the toilet next to the dining room. Soap is put from an ordinary bottle, and then it does not always happen. I washed my hands and wiped them on myself. As it is, they have signs warning rotavirus everywhere. That's how they fight him. My daughter was vomiting last night, it all started at night, so we stained the bed linen. At night I went down to the reception and asked for a basin, I say the child is small, sick. They didn't help me in any way, they told me to wait for the morning. And the basin will be given, and the linen will be replaced. It's already 11 a.m. the laundry hasn't been brought, I went and reminded the maid. She referred to a broken elevator. She told me to wash the ruined linen so that it would be spotless. I took a basin from a neighbor and washed it, I have only baby soap from chemistry. There is no service here, they think about you at the very last moment. It so overshadowed the trip and the overall impression. The room was cleaned once from the 1st to the 5th, towels have not been changed yet. Shampoo and gel are applied once. The garbage was only cleaned 2 times during this time. The maids take all the remarks with hostility, start arguing. Today, 2 elevators broke down, the lights were turned off during the day. We stayed at this hotel for 9 days.
Positive:
+ dining room (the food was very tasty, you didn't always get goodies, such as plums, oranges, but it's not scary)

- on the 7th day of our stay, we still dried ourselves with dirty towels and did not sleep in clean pastel linen, because they do not have their own laundry and do not have enough linen to change. Although at the entrance they said that they change the bed linen for the 4th day)

The hotel is new and beautiful. The tallest building in Gudauta. The view from the room is on the one side of the sea (for an additional fee when buying a tour), on the other side of the mountains and the city. The sea is close and clear. There are no more advantages. It takes about 1 -1.5 hours to drive from the border. Minuses: 1. The problem with the elevator. Waiting during rush hour for 20 minutes or more. Until you wait for him, and then until you get to your floor, it will take 20-30 minutes.
2. A terrible rotavirus is walking around the hotel (diarrhea, vomiting, high fever). It is impossible to go to the sea, especially to go on an excursion. You're sitting in the room like you're tied to the toilet. All adults and children.
3. City dogs walk freely on the territory of the hotel. The guards don't kick them out. When we were there, one of the dogs barked and scared a little girl. They start barking around three in the morning. And even with the window closed (this is the side facing the mountains and the city), it can already wake up.
4. The dishes are very poorly washed, there are a lot of chipped plates. Tea bags just don't brew. There is no tea for lunch and dinner, only compote. The food is monotonous.
5. The road to the sea goes along the fence, where there are containers with garbage from the hotel. The smell in the 30-degree heat is terrible.

The view from the room to the sea is beautiful, but the mountains are also beautiful. The staff is good, the medical office is present.
